Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica （TO） is a rare and benign disorder of unknown cause affecting the large airways. It is characterized by the presence of multiple osseous and cartilaginous nodules in the submucosa of the trachea and main bronchi that is characterized by the progression of submucosal bone and/or cartilage including nodules through the lumen of trachea and bronchus, We present four cases that were diagnosed TO while investigating for the causes of hemoptysis and chronic cough. We plan to emphasize TO in differential diaqnosis in proper patients.

BACKGROUND： Hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） is a com- plex and heterogeneous malignancy, frequently occurs in the setting of a chronically diseased organ, with multiple con- founding factors making its management challenging. HCC represents one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortal- ity globally with a rising trend of incidence in some of the de- veloped countries, which indicates the need for better surgical and nonsurgical management strategies.

Thar coalfield is a new coalfield in Pakistan with estimated lignite resource of more than 175 billion tons. Resource planning is an essential part of the strategic plan for optimal and economical exploitation of Thar lignite. Main objective of the present research is to assess Thar coalfield as a single deposit and identify the areas suitable for surface mining, underground mining and waste dump at Thar coalfield. The cumulative stripping ratio distribution map has been developed for Thar coalfield, covering an area of 1691.04 km2 around 12 exploratory blocks. Lithological data of 693 drill holes have been used to calculate the cumulative stripping ratio in every borehole, which varies from 3.7 m：m to 88.1 m：m with an average value of 12.85 m：m. Cumulative stripping ratio is divided into six ranges, viz： 4-6, 6-8, 8-10, 10-15, 15-20 and 〉20 m：m. Contours are digitized around all boreholes showing various ranges of stripping ratios. From the cumulative stripping ratio distribution map, it is concluded that 665.72 km2 area, which constitutes 39.37% of the total assessed area, is suitable for surface mining and 989.82 km2 area, constituting 58.53%, is appropriate for underground mining and outside waste dumps. Whereas, 2.1% area is no coal zone, only suitable for outside waste dumping. The developed map of cumulative stripping ratio distribution may be used as a guide map for the preparation of mining master plan for Thar coalfield.

Recent progress of electromagnetic wave absorbers: A systematic review and bibliometric approach

The electromagnetic wave absorption capabilities of an absorber depend on its dielectric and magnetic compo- nents, which determine its interfacial polarization, conductivity loss, magnetic loss, and other such mechanisms. In this study, a comprehensive review of the electromagnetic wave and material interaction was conducted. Moreover, for a better understanding of the trends and evolutionary developments in the study of the electro- magnetic wave absorber, 23300 documents dated between 1990 and 2020 were examined, which were obtained from Scopus using the keywords of “electromagnetic wave absorption ”and “microwave absorption ”. The data search in Scopus was conducted using the related keywords in the search bar for titles and abstracts. These results demonstrate that the majority of research regarding electromagnetic wave absorbers was conducted in China, which was followed by the United States. The number of published documents regarding the electromagnetic wave absorption field significantly increased between 1990 and 2020;these documents were mostly published as journal articles. With respect to the journal activity, the most productive journal was the “Journal of Alloys and Compounds ”, with a total of 592 articles. In addition, graphene and titanium dioxide were determined to be the materials that were most studied in the field of electromagnetic wave absorption.

Comparison of the effect of intravitreal bevacizumab and intravitreal fasudil on retinal VEGF,TNFα,and caspase 3 levels in an experimental diabetes model

AIM: To evaluate the influence of an intravitreal injection of bevacizumab and fasudil on the retinal vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNFα),and caspase 3 levels in a diabetic rabbit model. · METHODS: The study included 6 healthy rabbits(Group 1),6 rabbits with experimentally induced diabetes mellitus(DM)(Group 2),7 rabbits with experimentally induced DM to which intravitreal bevacizumab was administered(Group 3),and 7 rabbits with experimentally induced DM to which intravitreal fasudil was administered(Group 4). An intravitreal injection of 1.25mg/50μL bevacizumab in the right eye of rabbits in Group 3 and an intravitreal injection of 0.0064mg/50μL fasudil in the right eye of rabbits in Group 4 were administered on day 21 after the induction of DM. The studied eyes of the rabbits were enucleated three days after the intravitreal injection. The TNFα,VEGF,and caspase 3 levels were determined using the ELISA method. · RESULTS: There was a statistically significant difference in the VEGF and caspase 3 levels between groups(P =0.005 and P =0.013,respectively),but the TNF α level did not differ significantly between groups(P = 0.792). It was found that VEGF levels were significantly lower in Group 1 and Group 3 than in Group 2 using the Mann-Whitney U test with the Bonferroni correction(P = 0.004 for both comparison). There was no statistically significant difference between other groups with regard to VEGF levels(the P value ranged between 0.015 and 0.886). Although the P values of the caspase 3 levels were 0.015 for Group 1 and Group 4,0.038 for Group 2and Group 3,and 0.018 for Group 3 and Group 4,these P values remained above the threshold P value of 0.0083,which was the statistically significant level for post hoc tests. ·CONCLUSION: An intravitreal injection of bevacizumab decreased both the VEGF level,which plays a role in angiogenesis,and the caspase 3 level,which plays a role in apoptosis. Toxic keratopathy associated with abuse of topical anesthetics and amniotic membrane transplantation for treatment

AIMTo evaluate the clinical findings of toxic keratopathy associated with abuse of topical anesthetics and the treatment efficacy of amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT).METHODSFifteen eyes of 10 patients with abuse of topical anesthetics were included in this study. The data collected included patients' demographic information, initial best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), clinical findings, time to AMT, duration of epithelization, additional treatments, posttreatment BCVA, and the results of psychiatric *** patients were male, with the mean age of 37.9±5.4y. The patients had received 0.5% proparacaine hydrochloride due to pain resulting from foreign bodies, such as welding flash burns and car battery explosions, for a mean of 18.2±12.4d. The mean initial BCVA of the patients was 0.069±0.100. All patients had persistent epithelial defects, stromal infiltration, ring ulcer, and corneal edema. Initially, medical treatment was attempted in all cases. Because of severe pain, persistent epithelial defects and progressing stromal thinning did not improve with medical treatment, thus, the patients underwent AMT. The mean posttreatment BCVA of the patients was 0.33±0.27. All of them, except for two patients, showed improved visual acuity. One patient underwent evisceration for corneal melting and endophthalmitis in another center, and one patient underwent evisceration for severe pain of unknown origin. All 5 patients who consented to a psychiatric examination had depression, had personality disorder, and used *** appears to be an effective method for pain relief, rapid epithelial and stromal healing; however, visual prognosis is still poor despite medical and surgical interventions.

After the foundation of Turkish Republic in1923, Turkish Civil Code which was codificated from Switzerland in 1926 was a new code for modem Turkey that aimed gender equality. Even if, there were some articles, contrary to the equality of men and women, they were ignored when they were compared with the reforms performed in favor of women. The surname of woman was one of the issues where there was gender discrimination. In the Civil Code of 1926, it was stated that the married woman must have taken her husband＇s surname after the official marriage and she had to use it through her marriage life. In 1997, there was an amendment in TCC Article 153 that the married woman had the right to register her maiden name in front of her husband＇s surname which was also accepted in the new TCC in Article 187 in 2002. As the equality of the spouses is neglected under Article 187, many women are trying to change the current situation, by lawsuits. In this article, the regulations about the surname, will be discussed under personality rights and identity, within the current legislation with some court decisions from the last years in favor of women.
