Research and development are gradually becoming data-driven and the implementation of the FAIR Guidelines(that data should be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) for scientific data administration and stewardship has the potential to remarkably enhance the framework for the reuse of research data. In this way, FAIR is aiding digital transformation. The ‘FAIRification’ of data increases the interoperability and(re)usability of data, so that new and robust analytical tools, such as machine learning(mL) models, can access the data to deduce meaningful insights, extract actionable information, and identify hidden patterns. This article aims to build a FAIR mL model pipeline using the generic FAIRification workflow to make the whole mL analytics process FAIR. Accordingly, FAIR input data was modelled using a FAIR mL model. The output data from the FAIR mL model was also made FAIR. For this, a hybrid hierarchical k-means (HHK) clustering mL algorithm was applied to group the data into homogeneous subgroups and ascertain the underlying structure of the data using a Nigerian-based FAIR dataset that contains data on economic factors, healthcare facilities, and coronavirus occurrences in all the 36 states of Nigeria. The model showed that research data and the mL pipeline can be FAIRified, shared, and reused by following the proposed FAIRification workflow and implementing technical architecture.

Thermal degradation of diethanolamine at stripper condition for CO2 capture: Product types and reaction mechanisms

Amine-based absorption/stripping is one of the promising technology for CO2 capture from natural and industrial gas *** the process,amines and CO2 undergo irreversible reactions to produce undesired compounds,which cause corrosion,foaming,increased viscosity and breakdown of equipment,ultimately contributing to the economic loss and environmental *** this study,the thermal degradation of aqueous diethanolamine in the presence and absence of dissolved CO2 was *** experiments were performed in stainless steel *** results show that thermal degradation in the absence of CO2 was a slow process;triethanolamine,and tris(2-aminoethyl)amine were only the degradation products identified in the mixture In addition,the rate of degradation was very low,only 3%degradation was observed after 4 *** in the presence of CO2,sixteen degradation products were identified,nine of which were new degradation products reported for the first time in this *** 3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-oxazolidinone,1,4-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine and triethanolamine were the most abundant degradation *** remaining DEA concentration after 4 weeks was about 20%of the total amine *** most probable degradation reactions and their mechanisms are also proposed.

Drought stress has become more common in recent years as a result of climate change impacts on the production of banana crops and other fruit *** growth and productivity of musa spp are severely impacted by the gradual degradation of water resources and the erratic distribution pattern of annual precipitation *** aim of the work includes increased drought tolerance in light of water scarcity in the world as a result of the bananas’being gluttonous for water *** investigation was carried out from 2019 to 2020 to study the effect of potassium silicate on morphological growth and biochemical parameters of musa acuminata L under drought stress by *** a result,drought stress reduced the morphological characteristics such as shoots number,shoot length,roots number,and survival percentage and biochemical characteristics such as chlorophyll a,b,carotenoids,stomatal status,and *** proline content increased in the leaf of *** *** complemented with K2SiO3(2 to 6 mm)either individually or in combination with PEG led to an improvement in all morphological and biochemical *** activities of CAT,POD,and PPO enzymes increased significantly compared to ***,the lowest PPO,CAT,and POD activity were ***,K2SiO3 treatments under drought stress successfully enhanced the leaf stomatal *** results suggest that K2SiO3 can help to maintain plant integrity in the tested cultivar under drought stress.

The frequency and antimicrobial resistance patterns of nosocomial pathogens recovered from cancer patients and hospital environments

Objective:To determine the prevalence and antimicrobial resistance rates of nosocomial pathogens isolated from cancer patients and hospital ***:A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2010 to may 2013 at Radiation and Isotopes Centre of Khartoum,Sudan.A total of 1 503 samples(505 clinical and 998 environmental)were *** were identified,and their antimicrobial susceptibility was determined using standard laboratory ***:Out of 505 clinical samples,nosocomial pathogens were found as 48.1%.Among hospital environment samples,bacterial contaminants were detected in 29.7%of *** main microorganisms recovered from cancer patients were Proteus spp.(23.5%),Escherichia coli(22.2%),Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***)(21.0%)and Staphylococcus aureus(20.2%).The most frequent isolates from hospital environments were bacillus spp.(50.0%),Staphylococcus aureus(14.2%)and ***(11.5%).The proportions of resistance among Gram-negative pathogens from cancer patients were high for ampicillin,cefotaxime,ceftazidime and *** resistance rates were recorded to ciprofloxacin,such as 51.0%for ***,21.7%for Klebsiella pneumoniae and 55.5%for Escherichia *** Klebsiella,there were no significant differences(P0.05)of resistance rates between Gram-negative isolates from cancer patients to those from the hospital *** proportions of extended-spectrum b-lactamase producing isolates from cancer patients were not differ significantly(P=0.763)from those collected from the hospital environments(49.2%;91/185 vs.47%;32/68).Conclusions:The prevalence of nosocomial infection among cancer patients was high(48.1%)with the increasing of antimicrobial resistance *** environments are potential reservoirs for nosocomial infections,which calls for intervention program to reduce environmental transmission of pathogens.

Profile of Declared Work Accidents at the Parakou Agency of the National Social Security Fund, 2015-2021, benin

Introduction: Work accidents (WA) have consequences for both the individual and the company. The objective of this study is to study the profile of work accidents declared to the Parakou agency of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) from 2015 to 2021. method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection. It concerned workers affiliated with the CNSS in Parakou, victims of declared WA whose file was available and exploitable. The sampling was exhaustive. Data was collected from registers and worker records. The variables studied were socio-demographic and related to the accident. They were analyzed using R version 4.1 software. Results: The annual incidence rate of WA varied from 5.8% in 2015 to 1.7% in 2021. The victims were 90.6% male. There were more subjects aged 28 to 37 years (37.1%). Workers and laborers were the most concerned. Fractures (22.9%) were the major lesions. At 38.5% they sat in the thoracic limbs and at 22.5% in the pelvic limbs. The majority (63.6%) of these accidents occurred in the workplace. The processing industry sector was mainly (52.1%) the place of accidents. Conclusion: The prevalence of WA declared to the agency of the National Social Security Fund of Parakou from 2015 to 2021 is decreasing. The most affected were young people. It is important to assess their socio-economic impacts.

With their advantages of high efficiency,long lifetime,compact size and being free of mercury,ultraviolet light-emitting diodes(UV LEDs)are widely applied in disinfection and purification,photolithography,curing and biomedical ***,it is challenging to assess the reliability of UV LEDs based on the traditional life test or even the accelerated life *** this paper,radiation power degradation modeling is proposed to estimate the lifetime of UV LEDs under both constant stress and step stress degradation *** data-driven predic-tions with both Gamma process and Wiener process methods are implemented,and the degradation mechanisms occurring under different aging conditions are also *** results show that,compared to least squares regression in the IESNA Tm-21 industry standard recommended by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America(IESNA),the proposed stochastic data-driven methods can predict the lifetime with high accuracy and narrow confidence intervals,which confirms that they provide more reliable information than the IESNA Tm-21 standard with greater robustness.

Incidence and risk factors of post-phototherapy neonatal rebound hyperbilirubinemia

background To determine the incidence and risk factors of post-phototherapy rebound hyperbilirubinemia because data about bilirubin rebound in neonates are lacking and few studies have concerned this condition. methods A prospective observational study was conducted on 500 neonates with indirect hyperbilirubinemia who were treated according to standard guidelines. Total serum bilirubin (TSb) was measured at 24–36 h after phototherapy;significant bilirubin rebound (SbR) is considered as increasing TSb that needs reinstitution of phototherapy. Results A total of 124 (24.9%) neonates developed SbR with TSb increased by 3.4 (2.4–11.2) mg/dL after stopping pho-totherapy. multiple logistic regression model revealed the following significant risk factors for rebound: low birth weight (b = 1.3,P b = 2.5,P b = 0.83, P= 0.03, OR 2.3), hemolysis (b = 1.2,P bilirubin level (b = 0.3,P = 0.001, OR 1.3), and short duration of conventional phototherapy (b = ? 1.2,P bR should be considered in neonates with hemolysis, low birth weight, suspected sepsis, short duration of conventional phototherapy, exposure to intensive phototherapy, and relatively high discharge TSb. These risk factors should be taken into account when planning post-phototherapy follow-up.

Subrectal and Subcutaneous Wound Infiltration with bupivacaine versus Pethidine for Post Cesarean Section Pain Relief: Randomized Controlled Trial

background: Cesarean section (CS), one of the most common major operative procedures, performed all over the world. Incisional infiltration with local anesthetics is a simple, cheap and effective mean of providing good analgesia for surgical operations without any major side effects & allowing early patients’ mobilization & postoperative recovery, so the purpose of study is to compare between the effect of wound infiltration with bupivacaine versus pethidine for post cesarean section pain relief. Patients and methods: A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted in Ain Shams University maternity hospital in the period from August 2016 and January 2017. 100 full term pregnant females randomized into two groups: Group A (50 patients) bupivacaine group: Subcutaneous and subrectal infiltration with 10 ml 0.25% bupivacaine (2.5 mg/ml) diluted in 10 ml normal saline before closure of the wound was done;Group b (50 patients) Pethidine group: Subcutaneous and subrectal infiltration with 1 ml pethidine (50 mg/ml) diluted in 19 ml normal saline before closure of the wound was done. All patients had cesarean section under spinal anesthesia. Study outcome measures post-operative pain scores using visual analogue scale, post-operative analgesia requirement time to first rescue analgesia, onset of mobilization, side effect of local anesthetic, wound infection (after one week). It was registered on clinical *** with ID: NCT03652116. Results: Visual analogue scale values differ significantly between pethidine group and that of bupivacaine at rest and on coughing at 4, 8, 12, 24 hours & analgesic consumption (P value st time request analgesia per minute comparing group A to group b (P value 0.001). There is no significant difference between bupivacaine and pethidine regarding time of ambulation, side effects or complications. Conclusion: Infiltration of the wound of cesarean section with pethidine gives effective analgesia for several hours as compared to bupivacaine.
