D-allulose, also known by the name D-psicose or just allulose, is a rare keto-sugar epimer of D-fructose in the third carbon (C3), and naturally occurs in small quantity in fruits such as grapes and figs. It is low calorie sweetener produced enzymatically from D-fructose by enzymes D-ketose 3-epimerase (DKEase) family. D-allulose has a similar taste, texture and functionality as sweetener comparing to high calorie sweetener sugar table sucrose. D-allulose is poorly metabolized in the body with minimal impact on blood sugar levels making it a natural low-calorie sweetener. This property makes D-allulose an attractive sweetener for diabetes and for body weight management. Laboratory studies on D-allulose intake demonstrated its safety with no significant adverse effects. United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted D-allulose the status of Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS). Plus, it is considered safe for human consumption by regulatory organizations in other countries except in European Union due to their request for further laboratory testing. Maximum acceptable daily intake of D-allulose is 0.9 grams per kilogram body weight. Excessive intake for more than the recommended daily intake could lead to some side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort or laxative effects. In general, D-allulose is considered one of the preferred natural low calories sweeteners for those seeking an alternative to table sugar sucrose.

With the petroleum industry endeavoring to develop promising oil and gas in deeper water, gas hydrates prevention is a serious concern for oil and gas producing companies producing at conditions in the hydrate region. This paper details lessons learned from the successful field deployment of AA LDHI and proper implementation strategies used for 3 different practical fields as case studies in the Gulf of Mexico. From the 3 field experiences, the AA LDHI has been used to replace the conventional thermodynamic hydrate inhibitor due to its numerous benefits during steady state operations and transition operations where AA LDHI is injected prior to extended shut in and restart for fields producing at low water cut. However, the strategy to develop a cost effective chemical management of hydrates for fields producing at high water cut is by pumping methanol or diesel to push down the wellbore fluid below the mud line during planned and unplanned shut-ins to delay water production, it also secures the riser with non hydrate fluids. This illustrates how the AA LDHIs are used in conjunction with more conventional hydrate management approaches to reach an optimal cost effective field hydrate management solution. However, this shows that the key to overall success of hydrate prevention is a full integration of a good front end design, a comprehensive deployment and an effective down hole monitoring system.

Objective:Vesicoureteral reflux(VUR)index is a simple,validated tool that reliably predicts significant improvement and spontaneous resolution of primary reflux in *** aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the ureter diameter ratio(UDR)and VUR index(VURx)of patients treated with endoscopic injection(EI)and ureteroneocystostomy(UNC)methods in the pediatric age group due to primary ***:Patients under the age of 18 years old who underwent EI and UNC with the diagnosis of primary VUR between January 2011 and September 2021 were determined as the *** UDR was assessed using voiding cystourethrography,and the VURx score was determined prior to treatment based on hospital records included in the ***:A total of 255 patients,60(23.5%)boys and 195(76.5%)girls,with a mean age of 76.5(range 13.0e204.0)months,were included in the *** was applied to 130(51.0%)patients and UNC was applied to 125(49.0%)patients due to primary *** optimum cut-off for the distal UDR was obtained as 0.17 with sensitivity and specificity of 73.0%and 63.0%,*** positive and negative predictive values were 66.0%and 70.0%,***:When the UDR and VURx score are evaluated together for the surgical treatment of primary VUR in the pediatric age group,it is thought that it may be useful in predicting the clinical course of the disease and evaluating surgical treatment options.

Purpose:Many techniques have been described for the reconstruction of chronic lateral collateral ligament(LCL)rupture with different autograft *** advantages of percutaneous LCL reconstruction include small incisions,minimal soft tissue disruption,less postoperative pain,and speedy rehabilitation and *** aim of this study was to report the functional outcome of percutaneous LCL reconstruction and overall patient satisfaction in ***:This prospective and interventional study involving 51 patients with chronic LCL rupture who had percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft was conducted between January 2021 and December 2022 in National Orthopaedic Hospital,Dala-Kano,*** inclusion criteria were patients between the ages of 18 and 45 years with chronic isolated LCL and not more than 1 injury of knee *** criteria were active infection,and multi-ligament knee injury requiring 2-staged *** knee functions were assessed preoperatively,3 months,6 months,and 12 months postoperatively using the Lysholm scoring *** satisfaction with the outcome of the treatment was assessed using a 5-point Likert *** information was recorded into Microsoft Excel sheet and data was analyzed using SPSS version 23.0 for *** paired samples t-test was used to compare the clinical outcomes as continuous *** significance was considered at p<***:The mean age of the patients was(30.10±5.90)*** median time from injury to surgery was 7 months(ranging from 3 to 28 months).The mean follow-up period was(14.07±3.13)*** mean preoperative and 1-year postoperative Lysholm scores were 44.33±12.97 and 97.96±1.23,***:Percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft significantly improves patient knee function and results in excellent patient satisfaction。

Comparison of QT Correction Methods in the Pediatric Population of a Community Hospital: A Retrospective Study

Disaster response demands rapid, accurate, and comprehensive situational awareness. This study explores the potential of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology to enhance disaster response efforts. By integrating sensors and algorithms, SLAM enables autonomous systems to create detailed maps of disaster-stricken areas while simultaneously determining their own location. This research investigates the application of SLAM in various disaster scenarios, assesses its performance in challenging conditions, and analyzes its potential to improve search and rescue, damage assessment, and resource allocation. The findings highlight the advantages of SLAM in providing real-time data, supporting decision-making, and increasing the efficiency of disaster response operations.
