Outcome of percutaneous reconstruction of chronic lateral collateral ligament rupture

Purpose:Many techniques have been described for the reconstruction of chronic lateral collateral ligament(LCL)rupture with different autograft *** advantages of percutaneous LCL reconstruction include small incisions,minimal soft tissue disruption,less postoperative pain,and speedy rehabilitation and *** aim of this study was to report the functional outcome of percutaneous LCL reconstruction and overall patient satisfaction in ***:This prospective and interventional study involving 51 patients with chronic LCL rupture who had percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft was conducted between January 2021 and December 2022 in National Orthopaedic Hospital,Dala-Kano,*** inclusion criteria were patients between the ages of 18 and 45 years with chronic isolated LCL and not more than 1 injury of knee *** criteria were active infection,and multi-ligament knee injury requiring 2-staged *** knee functions were assessed preoperatively,3 months,6 months,and 12 months postoperatively using the Lysholm scoring *** satisfaction with the outcome of the treatment was assessed using a 5-point Likert *** information was recorded into Microsoft Excel sheet and data was analyzed using SPSS version 23.0 for *** paired samples t-test was used to compare the clinical outcomes as continuous *** significance was considered at p<***:The mean age of the patients was(30.10±5.90)*** median time from injury to surgery was 7 months(ranging from 3 to 28 months).The mean follow-up period was(14.07±3.13)*** mean preoperative and 1-year postoperative Lysholm scores were 44.33±12.97 and 97.96±1.23,***:Percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft significantly improves patient knee function and results in excellent patient satisfaction。

Coupled tripartite investigation of breaker fluid invasion and impact on hydrocarbon recovery in sandstone reservoirs

Breaker fluids are designed to dissolve filter cakes by breaking their long-chain molecules,thereby removing solid deposits on the wellbore *** breaker fluids are not intended to infiltrate the hydrocarbon reservoir,they can invade and cause formation damage by altering sandstone reservoirs'wettability and relative *** can lead to a reduction in the overall reservoir *** study coupled tripartite methods to investigate the potential impact of breaker invasion and transport in hydrocarbon reservoirs and its multiscale effect on the performances of sandstone *** utilized experimental,analytical,and numerical methods to assess and predict the susceptibility of reservoirs to breaker fluid invasion and *** experimental and empirical investigations considered varying breaker fluid formulations to evaluate the effects of breaker fluid concentration,formation temperature,and solution gas-oil ratio(GOR)on residual-oil saturation(ROS)and oil-water relative *** adopting the ROS and relative permeability associated with the 50%v/v breaker fluid mixture,the performance of the hydrocarbon reservoir was numerically simulated under the limiting scenarios of no-invasion,moderate-invasion,and deep-invasion of breaker *** results indicate a positive correlation between breaker fluid concentration and ROS,highlighting the risks that breaker fluid invasion and deep infiltration pose to hydrocarbon ***,results show that both live-oil condition(LOC)and dead-oil condition(DOC)reservoirs are susceptible to the detrimental impacts of breaker fluid infiltration,while their invasion can reduce hydrocarbon recovery in both LOC(-6%)and DOC(-28%).The multi-scale effects on reservoir performance are more pronounced at near-wellbore and DOC than at far-field and *** from this work provide valuable insights into the complexity of breaker-fluid invasion in sandstone reservoirs and the mitigation of as
