Distribution of Convective intensities in West Africa Using Reflectivity and ice Scattering Characteristics from TRMM Precipitation Features

An evaluation of Radar Precipitation Feature (RPF) characteristics and distribution of convective intensity is performed across 12 regions in West Africa. Results presented in this study have shown that these characteristics over West Africa revealed interesting results which were not observed on a larger spatial scale. The ice scattering characteristics and heights attained by the 15, 20, 30, and 40 dBZ echoes show patterns that agree with the season and movement of the inter-Tropical Discontinuity (iTD). Some locations in the Western-coast rainforest, Nigeria/Cameroon rainforest and South Sudan savannah had strong potential for convective intensity during MAM, JJA, and SoN as shown by their 37-GHz and 85-GHz PCT which fell below 250 K and 225 K respectively while the maximum height attained by their 20 dBZ, 30 dBZ and 40 dBZ are well above the freezing level in those locations. one result revealed a location on the eastern part of south-central Sahel (SC Sahel) where the maximum height attained by the 30 dBZ reflectivity is above 12 km and the maximum height attained by the 40 dBZ reflectivity is above 10 km during SoN. The 37-GHz and 85-GHz PCT for this particular location are below 215 K and 150 K respectively indicating a very strong potential for intense convection and hence destructive storms. The distribution of convective intensity, considering only the 85-GHz PCT ice scattering signature, revealed that the percentage of convective intensity increases, especially in the rainforest and savannah, as the iTD shifts northwards during MAM, JJA and during its retreat in SoN.

This study investigates the effect of aluminium oxide nanoparticlesaddition to biodiesel blends made from dairy milk scum on performance and combustion characteristics of the diesel *** dispersion of Al2o3nanoparticles in B20 blends at different concentrations was done with the help of *** number of blends were prepared for the *** Machine learning algorithms(Random Forest（RF）and CatBoost) was used for the *** results show that in comparison to biodiesel blends without nanoparticles,the kinematic viscosity and density is higher for fuel blends with *** these Fuel blends have higher calorific *** blends exhibited reduced Brake Specific Fuel Consumption（BSFC） of2.85% than the blends without nano particles(Dairy Scum Methyl Ester Biodiesel 20%+Neat Diesel 80%（in volume）,DSMEB20),57.14% less Co,40.8% less hydrocarbon,and increased Noxemissions compared to conventional diesel,contributing to the development of environmentally friendly and renewable biofuel blends with *** B20NP30 is the optimal blend for performance and emission *** study concludes with findings on enhanced Brake Thermal Efficiency（BTE） of 26.29% in 3×10-5（in volume） Al2o3nanoparticle-blended DSME B20 and other DSME B20 fuel blends,emphasizing the importance of optimal nanoparticle *** correlation matrix shows how engine load,efficiency measures（BTE,BSFC）,and emissions（Co,Co2,Nox,Smoke） are connected in complex *** results help us understand the complicated dynamics of engine performance and emission characteristics ***'s diagram for BTE and BSFC shows that CatBoost-based BTE models perform superior to RF-based models during the training as well as testing *** results were obtained for Co and Co2emission results.

impairment of Continuous insulin Delivery Therapy and Analysis from Graeco-Latin Square Design Model

The desire to deliver measured amount of insulin continuously to patients with type i diabetes, for glycemic control, has attracted a lot of attention. Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion has seen some success in recent years. However, occlusion of insulin delivery may prevent the patient from receiving the prescribed dosage, with adverse consequence. An in vitro study of insulin delivery is performed, using different insulin pumps, insulin analogs and operating conditions. The aim is to identify incidences of occlusion due to bubble formation in the infusion line. A detailed statistical analysis was performed on the data collected to determine any significant differences and deviations in insulin delivery rates that might be due to factors such as: pump type, the set basal flow rate, insulin type, vibration, and possible insulin occlusion due to air bubble formation within the infusion line. our findings from the Graeco-Latin Square design model show that there are statistical differences due to the devices, and statistical identifiable clusters are used to distinguish the devices. Such hierarchical models used to describe the analyses, include the flow rate, the pump types, and the activity level.

A singularly perturbed linear convection-diffusion problem for heat transfer in two dimensions with a parabolic boundary layer is solved numerically The numerical method consists of a special piecewise uniform mesh condensing in a neighbourhood of the parabolic layer and a standard finite difference operator satisfying a discrete maximum principle. The numerical computations demonstrate numerically that the method is epsilon-uniform in the sense that the Fate of convergence and error constant of the method are independent of the singular perturbation parameter epsilon. This means that no matter how small the singular perturbation parameter epsilon is, the numerical method produces solutions with guaranteed accuracy depending solely on the number of mesh points used.

Screw conveyors are widely used for bulk material *** study investigates the critical role of radial clearance,the gap between the screw and the conveyor body,on performance across various inclination *** Discrete Element Method(DEM)is employed to analyze the effects of different radial clearances on conveyor performance for concrete aggregate and sand as bulk *** efficiencies and capacity losses serve as key performance indicators,quantitatively assessed for each radial clearance and inclination *** validation is conducted to corroborate the *** the study,the optimal radial clearance was identified as 1.5 to 3 times of the particle *** optimal clearance minimizes the material jamming and increases the performance for screw conveyors with different inclinations and bulk material types as a result.

Analysis of Storm Structure over Africa Using the Trmm Precipitation Radar Data

A 5-year mean seasonal analysis of mean storm height data and histograms from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Precipitation Radar (PR) have been used to study the storm structure of the major climatic regions in Africa and over the adjacent Atlantic ocean. The analysis was carried out in two ways. First, the mean storm height and histogram were analyzed for the entire continent bounded by 40?N to 40?S and 20?W to 60?E. Secondly, the analysis was carried out on sub-regional basis, on which Africa was structured into ten regions: Desert (North), Semi-desert (north), Deciduous forest (North), Brush Grass Savanna (North), Tropical Rainforest, Deciduous forest (South), Brush Grass-Savanna (South), Temperate Grassland/Montane Forest, Steppe (East) and Atlantic ocean. As observed over Africa, and some parts of the Atlantic ocean and the indian ocean, the storm height over the land is higher than that over the sea because ground surfaces tend to be heated more and convections are more easily developed over the land than over the ocean. There are high storm counts over the land at 250 mb whereas the storm counts are high over the ocean at 700 mb. over the regions, the vertical structure of the histograms reveals a distinct bi-modal distribution in the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere, but a unimodal distribution is close to the equator both in the northern and southern hemisphere.

Characteristics of infertile Clientele Attending a Public in Vitro Fertilization Clinic: Appraising Priorities in a Low-income Country

introduction: infertilityaffects one in six couples, and it is an important public health issue largely due to thepervasive effects on the emotional and psychological wellbeing of affected couples. in many developing nations emphasis is placed on childbirth and inability to fulfill this role can be very distressing. There is an unmet need for assisted reproductive technology (ART) in many developing countries and where facilities exist, they are mostly privately owned, expensive and concentrated in urban areas. To bridge this gap, public fertility clinics have been established to provide subsidized care. Evaluating the characteristics and peculiarities of clientele presenting at these public facilities will aid planning and prioritization of care. Methodology: A descriptive retrospective study of 116 infertile patients presenting to the fertility clinic of the University College Hospital, ibadan, Nigeria from inception on the 14th of February 2019 and 31st of December *** was analyzed using the Statical Package for Social Sciences (iBM, SPSS, New York) version 23. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the results which were presented with the aid of bar charts and frequency tables. Result: The mean age of the patients was 40.70 ± 6.62 years. Post-menopausal patients accounted for about one-fifth of the study population while 80.2% (93 women) were older than 35 years. The mean duration of infertility was 9.39 ± 6.11years and nine patients (7.8%) had a duration greater than 2 decades. Secondary infertility occurred in 67.2% of the women. Twenty-nine women (25%) had undergone myomectomy prior to presentation. Hypertension (11.2%) was the most prevalent comorbidity. Nineteen patients (16.4%) had used contraceptives in the past with the male condom (36.8%)being the most preponderant. Sixty-seven patients had experienced pregnancy losses before 28 weeks of gestation while just 16 patients (13.8%) had undergone ART, and none was successf

The ferromagnetic antiresonance （FMAR） phenomenon, i.e., the minimum of the microwave absorption, in polycrystalline La0.49Sr0.51Mno3 is observed near Curie temperature TC = 282 K. Temperature-dependences of magnetization μ0M are obtained from the FMAR. The results show that as μ0H = 0, by fitting the scaling law M ∝ （TC -T）^β to temperature-dependences of μ0M at the different microwave frequencies, it yields TC=281.2 K and β = 0.47. However, temperature-dependences of μ0M under different μ0H are not in agreement with the scaling law. Due to FMAR, about 40% giant microwave magneto-impedance at 11.9 GHz can occur under a low field μ0H = 0.03 T.
