Thermal-aware relocation of servers in green data centers

Rise in inlet air temperature increases the corresponding outlet air temperature from the server. As an added effect of rise in inlet air temperature, some active servers may start exhaling intensely hot air to form a hotspot. increase in hot air tem- perature and occasional hotspots are an added burden on the cooling mechanism and result in energy wastage in data centers. The increase in inlet air temperature may also result in failure of server hardware. identifying and comparing the thermal sensi- tivity to inlet air temperature for various servers helps in the thermal-aware arrangement and location switching of servers to minimize the cooling energy wastage. The peak outlet temperature among the relocated servers can be lowered and even be homogenized to reduce the cooling load and chances of hotspots. Based upon mutual comparison of inlet temperature sensitivity of heterogeneous servers, this paper presents a proactive approach for thermal-aware relocation of data center servers. The experimental results show that each relocation operation has a cooling energy saving of as much as 2.1 kW·h and lowers the chances of hotspots by over 77%. Thus, the thermal-aware relocation of servers helps in the establishment of green data centers.

BACKGROUND Maximum surgical blood order schedules were designed to eliminate unnecessary preoperative crossmatching prior to surgery in order to conserve blood bank *** protocols recommend type and cross of 2 red blood cell(RBC)units for patients undergoing surgery for treatment of hip *** hemoglobin has been identified as the strongest predictor of inpatient transfusion,but current maximum surgical blood order schedules do not consider preoperative hemoglobin values to determine the number of RBC units to prepare prior to *** To determine the preoperative hemoglobin level resulting in the optimal 2:1 crossmatch-to-transfusion(C:T)ratio in hip fracture surgery *** in 2015 a patient blood management(PBM)program was implemented at our institution mandating a single unit-per-occurrence transfusion policy and a restrictive transfusion threshold ofin in asymptomatic patients andin those with refractory symptomatic anemia or history of coronary artery *** identified all hip fracture patients between 2013 and 2017 and compared the preoperative hemoglobin which would predict a 2:1 C:T ratio in the pre PBM and post PBM *** profiling and sensitivity analysis were performed with statistical significance set at Pinety-eight patients who underwent hip fracture surgery between 2013 and 2017 were identified,291 in the post PBM *** requirements in the post PBM cohort were lower(51%vs 33%,Pin the pre PBM *** mean RBC units transfused per patient was 1.15 in the pre PBM cohort,compared to 0.66 in the post PBM cohort(Pio(inpatient transfusion probability of 50%)was predicted by a preoperative hemoglobin of 12.3 g/dL[area under the curve(AUC)0.78(95%confidence interval(Ci),0.72-0.83),Sensitivity 0.66]in the pre PBM cohort and 10.7 g/dL[AUC 0.78(95%Ci,0.73-0.83),Sensitivity 0.88]in the post PBM cohort.A

introduction:Climate factors play an important role in the transmission of viruses,such as influenza viruses,MERS-CoV,and *** study aimed to determine the relationship between changes in temperature,humidity,rainfall,and SARS-CoV-2 *** ecologically and climatically distinct regions were considered—Karachi,Lahore,islamabad,Peshawar,and ***:Data on daily COViD-19 cases and deaths were retrieved from government officials,while meteorological information was collected from Pakistan Meteorological *** analysis was performed using SPSS version 20 and the Spearman rank correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between the meteorological factors and COViD-19 cases and ***:Positive correlation of COViD-19 incidence was observed with all the temperature ranges(maximum,minimum and average)and negative correlation was seen with humidity,DTR and ***-19 deaths were positively associated with temperature and were negatively associated only with *** regression showed that for every unit increase in humidity,there was a3.345 daily signifi-cant decrease in COViD-19 cases,while in Karachi for every unit increase in humidity,there remained a 10.104 daily significant increase in *** Gilgit-Baltistan,for every unit increase in average temperature and rainfall respectively,significant increases of 0.534 and 1.286 in daily cases were ***:This study signifies the effect of climate factors on COViD-19 incidence and mortality rate,but climate factors are not the only variable and several other interlinked factors enhance the spread of ***,effective mitigation policies,enhancing testing capacities,and developing public attitudes toward adopting precautionary measures are important to overcome this overwhelming pandemic.

This paper deals with research findings regarding horticulture, a major sources of income in the Village Zandra, District Ziarat in the province of Balochistan. initially the natives were earning their livelihood through horticulture only. The main contribution was coming through apple production. The process of tree plantation and the people involved in horticulture economy have been discussed in this article. During the last 3 decades few changes have been witnessed. Shift from subsistence to market economy has increased the lust for money due to which the natives have started opting for secondary sources of income. in horticulture they have started using technology, pesticides and chemical fertilizers to maximize their production and profit. They are also switching over to the cultivation of profitable types of apple. The impact of these changes has been analyzed in light of world system theory at micro level. The data presented in this paper have been collected by using qualitative anthropological research techniques.

Traumatic cataracts in children: Visual outcome

AiM: To review results of traumatic cataracts in ***: Only those pediatric patients who fitted in the definite inclusion criteria were considered for study enrollment. They were further examined for any kind of co-morbidities because of trauma, operated upon for traumatic cataracts with intraocular lens implantation. Amblyopia if present was treated. All were re-examined at the culmination of six-week postoperative *** to the Birmingham Eye Trauma Terminology System the traumatic cataract cases were divided into group 1(open globe) and group 2(closed globe), and then determinants of visual acuity were ***: There were 544 eyes in group 1 and 127 eyes in group 2 in our study of 671 eyes with pediatric traumatic cataracts. Visual acuity at the end of 6 wk after surgery in the operated eye was > 6/60 in 450(82.7%) and ≥ 6/12 in 215(39.4%) eyes in the open globe group and > 20/200 in 127(81.8%) and ≥ 6/12 in 36(28.4%) eyes in the closed globe group(P = 0.143), and the difference between the groups was not significant in children. Overall, 402(39.4%) eyes gained ≥ 6/60 and > 5/12 in 238(35.4%) cases. Surgical treatment caused a significant difference in visual outcome(P = 0.000). When we compared achieved visual outcome with ocular trauma score predicted vision, no significant difference was ***: Traumatic cataracts in children may have better outcome and ocular trauma score is a useful predictive method for the ocular trauma in children.

it has been argued that Chebyshev polynomials are ideal to use as approximating functions to obtain solutions of integral equations and convolution integrals on account of their fast convergence. Using the standard deviation as a measure of the accuracy of the approximation and the CPU time as a measure of the speed, we find that for reasonable accuracy Legendre polynomials are more efficient. '

Tuberculosis(TB)is on the rise in Pakistan and there could be multiple reasons including poverty,difficulty in access to TB treatment services,non-compliance with treatment,social stigma *** to the TB program managers,limited treatment and testing sites for tuberculosis and lack of trained human resources play a major role in compromising TB management.A major lacuna in the TB control program is the absence of active contact tracing *** is essential for a disease where positive cases are known to be able to infect a further 10-15 individuals in a *** tuberculosis in Pakistan has been beleaguered by funding challenges and other systems’bottlenecks such as lack of skilled human resources and insufficient supply of medicines,despite the fact that disease burden is one of the highest in the *** it is a notifiable disease,active case finding,contact tracing and reporting is notoriously low throughout the *** to diagnostics and treatment facilities has been limited and stigma attached to the disease remains deeply entrenched among the *** have shown that enhanced and active approaches to contact investigation effectively identifies additional patients with TB among household contacts at a relatively modest ***’s integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery Activity extended support to the Health Departments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa *** collaboration with the two provincial TB programs,community based active contact tracing was conducted on 17,696 individuals,based on the index *** the contacts traced,243 cases were diagnosed as drug sensitive or drug resistant *** sessions were conducted to sensitize people on the various aspects of disease and importance of getting *** project also supported establishing three satellite Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis(PMDT)sites for drug resistant TB treatment,enhancing the programs

This study was conducted at University of Gujrat during 2014-2015 as a term paper for Master of Philosophy. The data regarding effect of ozone depletion on human was reviewed and compiled as a review paper from various published articles of international reputed journals, annual/environmental reports of recognized organization and e-books. The causes, mechanism and bio-effects of ozone layer depletion on humans were addressed. it is revealed that introduction of Chloroflourocarbons (CFCs) in the environment is the most rated cause of said depiction. Ozone depletion is allowing the UV radiation to earth surface. The exposure to these radiations is severely affecting all life forms on earth, especially the humans. Permanent or temporary blindness, skin cancer and immunity suppression are the main effects of these radiations reported by various researchers on humans. The prospects of ozone recovery are still undiscovered. The current situation of ozone depiction demands urgent remedial measures to protect lives on this earth.
