Analysis of particle dispersion and cavity formation during bulk particle water entry using fully coupled CFD-DEM-VOF approach

the study focused on the modifi.ation with platinum of dark defective ti.ania obtained via pulsed laser ablation. Both the method of Pt introduction and the nature of the Pt precursor were varied. All samples exhibited simi.ar phase compositions, specific surface areas, and Pt contents. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy coupled with pulsed CO adsorption revealed increased dispersity when photoreduction and the hydroxonitrate complex (Me _(4) N) _(2) [Pt _(2) (OH) _(2) (NO _(3) ) _(8) ] were used. the sample featured a high content of single-atom species and subnano-sized Pt clusters. the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the photoreduction method facili.ated the appearance of a larger number of Pt ^(2+) states, which appeared owi.g.t. the strong metal-support interaction (SMSi) eff ect of the transfer of electron density from the electron-saturated defects on the tiO _(2) surface to Pt ^(4+) . in the hydrogen evolution reaction, samples with a signifi.ant fraction of the Pt ^(2+) ionic component, capable of generating short-lived Pt^(0) single-atom sites under irradiation due to the SMSi eff ect, exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity. the 0.5Pt(C)/tiO_(2) -Ph sample exhibited the highest hydrogen yield with a quantum efficiency of 0.53, retaining its activity even after 8 h of operation.

Peer pressure and academic stress among junior high school students:a cross-sectional study

Objective:the objective of the study was to explore the connection between peer pressure and academic stress among junior high school ***:this descriptive correlational study was conducted to investi.ate the link between perceived peer pressure and academic *** study involved a total of 525 adolescents,aged 14-19 years,drawn from 6 public junior high schools(PJHS)in Padang,indonesia,using purposive *** stress and perceived peer pressure were assessed usi.g.t.e Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents(ESSA)and the Perceived Peer Pressure Scale(PPPS).Results:the findings indi.ated signifi.ant variations in stress levels among students in different grade levels(7th,8th,and 9th grades)(Pile there were no noteworthy differences in peer pressure across these grade levels(P>0.05).Additionally,there was a positive correlation observed between perceived peer pressure and academic stress(r=0.14,Pthermore,multiple regression analyses,incorporating demographic variables and perceived peer pressure as independent factors,yielded statisti.ally signifi.ant results(adjusted R^(2)=0.082,F=4.33,Ptably,peer pressure had a direct impact on academic stress among adolescents,with class level and parents’educational background mediati.g.t.e relationship between academic stress and adolescent behavioral ***:these findings underscore the importance of addressing both external and internal factors at the individual,family,school,and societal levels to enhance adolescents’psychologi.al resilience and miti.ate problem behaviors.

Deeply subwavelength lasers(or nanolasers)are highly demanded for compact on-chip bioi.aging and sensing at the *** of the main obstacles for the development of single-particle nanolasers with all three dimensions shorter than the emitting wavelength in the visible range is the high lasi.g.t.resholds and the resulting *** we ex-ploit exciton-polariton condensation and mirror-i.age Mie modes in a cuboid CsPbBr3 nanoparticle to achieve coherent emission at the visible wavelength of around 0.53μm from its ultra-small(≈0.007μm3 or≈λ3/20)semiconductor *** polaritonic nature of the emission from the nanocavity localized in all three dimensions is proven by direct com-parison with corresponding one-dimensional and two-dimensional waveguiding systems with simi.ar material *** a deeply subwavelength nanolaser is enabled not only by the high values for exciton binding energy(≈35 meV),re-fractive index(>2.5 at low temperature),and luminescence quantum yield of CsPbBr3,but also by the optimi.ation of po-laritons condensation on the Mie resonances with quality factors improved by the metallic ***,the key parameters for opti.al lasing conditions are intermode free spectral range and phonons spectrum in CsPbBr3,which govern polaritons condensation *** chemi.ally synthesized colloi.al CsPbBr3 nanolasers can be potentially de-posited on arbitrary surfaces,which makes them a versatile tool for integration with various on-chip systems.

tensile deformation of fine-grained Mg at 4K,78K and 298K

the impact of grain size, ranging from 0.9 μm to 9 μm, on the mechani.al properties of commercially pure Mg is investi.ated at temperatures of 4K, 78K, and 298K. the mechanisms governing plastic flow are influenced by both grain size and temperature. At 4K and 78K, domi.ant deformation modes in Mg involve dislocation glide and extension twinning, regardless of grain size. the interactions between basal and non-basal dislocations and dislocations with grain boundaries promote an unusually high rate of work hardening in the plastic regime, leadi.g.t. premature failure. the yield stress follows the Hall-Petch relationship σy~ k/√d, with the slope k increasing with decreasi.g.t.mperature. At 298K, in addition to dislocation glide and twinning, grain boundary sliding(gBS) becomes signifi.ant in samples with grain sizes below 3 μm, considerably enhanci.g.t.e material's deformability. gBS acti.ation provides an additional recovery mechanism for dislocations accumulating at grain boundaries, facili.ati.g.t.eir absorption during sliding and rotation. Analysis of σ Θ relationship suggests that the basal slip is the domi.ant dislocation mode in Mg at 298K. Decreasing grain size suppresses dislocation activity and twinning and increases gBS, resulting in lower Θ and σ Θ values. Suppressing conventional deformation modes coupled with enhanced gBS yields stress softening, breaking down the Hall-Petch relationship in Mg below 3 μm grain size, leadi.g.t. an inverse Hall-Petch behaviour. the work reports new data on the strength, ductility, work hardening and fracture behaviour, and their variations with Mg grain size across different temperature regimes.

the aggregation of amyloid-beta peptide and tau protein dysregulation are impli.ated to play key roles in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis and are considered the main pathologi.al hallmarks of this devastating disease. Physiologi.ally, these two proteins are produced and expressed within the normal human body. However, under pathologi.al conditions, abnormal expression, posttranslational modifi.ations, conformational changes, and truncation can make these proteins prone to aggregation, triggering specific disease-related cascades. Recent studies have indi.ated associations between aberrant behavior of amyloid-beta and tau proteins and various neurologi.al diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as reti.al neurodegenerative diseases like glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. Additionally, these proteins have been linked to cardiovascular disease, cancer, traumatic brain injury, and diabetes, which are all leading causes of morbidity and mortality. in this comprehensive review, we provide an overview of the connections between amyloid-beta and tau proteins and a spectrum of disorders.

Microfungi have been explored further as supplement constituents in shrimp culture due to their rich protein,lipid,essential amino acids,fatty acids,and various bi.active *** researchers have evaluated the effects of two microfungi powders(Mucor circinelloides and trichoderma harzianum)as feed supplements on growth performance,bacterial communities,and the biomass nutritional profile of white shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei).the results showed that commercial/artificial feed(Feng-Li)with supplementation microfungi powder had a different effect on white shrimp growth performance than control after 62 days of the grow-out *** with 1.5%*** powder(M-2)could improve the growth performance of white shrimp,especially the survi.al rate(81.33%),fi.al body weight(5.21 g),and shrimp biomass(211.35 g).in contrast,supplementation with 1.5%*** powder(t-2)did not improve the growth performance of white shrimp compared to control(p>0.05).Furthermore,it also affected the profile of the bacterial community in culture water as well as in shrimp *** with both microfungi could reduce the total number of bacteria in culture water at the end of the experiment,where the lowest number was obtained in treatment t-2(3.9×10^(5)CFU/mL),followed by M-2(9.9×10^(5)CFU/mL)and control(4.4×10^(6)CFU/mL).in the culture water,20 isolates of culturable bacteria were found duri.g.t.e trial,with the domi.ant bacteria in M-2:Bacillus cereus,Bacillus velezensis,gordonia polyisoprenivorans,t-2:Acinetobacter sp.,gordonia polyisoprenivorans,Micrococcus *** on average well colour development(AWCD),the highest bacterial activity was in the M-2(0.297-0.707),followed by t-2(0.226-0.717)and control(0.094-0.694).the highest substrate group utilised in M-2 and t-2 were polymers(0.896 and 1.348)and control:amines(0.100).the highest Shannon diversity index was obtained in the M-2(2.508),followed by control(2.286)and the t-2(2.157).As many as
