Renal cell carci.oma ari.i.g from epi.heli.l cells of the renal tubule i. a hi.hly aggressi.e and mali.nant tumor i. all ages. Less than 2%of cases occur i. chi.dhood, relati.ely i. older age group. Only a few pedi.tri. seri.s have been presented i. the Engli.h li.erature. Tumor i. presented wi.h characteri.ti. fi.di.gs of flank pai., gross hematuri., and palpable mass. Although one half of the pati.nts have metastasi. at the ti.e of di.gnosi., most cases are currently bei.g i.ci.entally detected usi.g i.proved i.agi.g techni.ues. The overall prognosi. i. chi.dren appears to be si.i.ar to that i. adults. Tumor stage and complete surgi.al resecti.n have been reported as the most meani.gful prognosti. factors for the outcome. The i.ci.ence of metastati. di.ease i. same as i. adults. The effect of chemotherapy and i.munotherapy, ei.her preoperati.ely or postoperati.ely, i. unclear. Cure i. the most li.ely consequence i. locali.ed and completely resected tumors. Here, we present an 8-year-old boy wi.h renal cell carci.oma demonstrati.g only hematuri. wi.hout any pathologi.al physi.al exami.ati.n fi.di.gs. The mass was descri.ed by abdomi.al ultrasonography and computed tomography i. the left ki.ney. After the left nephroureterectomy, the pati.nt was gi.en no therapy.

Alumi.a thi. fi.ms were deposi.ed on fused quartz and SS304 substrate by pulsed rf magnetron sputteri.g wi.h both di.ect and reacti.e methods. The fi.ms were characteri.ed by energy di.persi.e X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray di.fracti.n, scanni.g electron mi.roscopy, fi.ld emi.si.n scanni.g electron mi.roscopy and atomi. force mi.roscopy to reveal the mi.rostructure, surface morphology and topography of thi. fi.ms. Transmi.tance and reflectance of alumi.a thi. fi.m were evaluated after deposi.i.n on the quartz substrate. Transmi.tance of the quartz remai.s almost un-altered when alumi.a was deposi.ed by the reacti.e sputteri.g. A margi.al decrease of ~4% i. the transmi.tance of quartz was, however, observed after deposi.i.n of alumi.a by di.ect sputteri.g. i.frared emi.tance of the substrate also remai.s almost constant after deposi.i.n of thi. alumi.a fi.m. Further, as-deposi.ed alumi.a on SS304 obtai.ed by both di.ect and reacti.e sputteri.g process was amorphous i. nature. However, after anneali.g crystalli.e peaks were observed.

A few classes of organi. compounds are promi.i.g electrode-acti.e materi.ls due to thei. hi.h power and energy densi.i.s,low cost,envi.onmental fri.ndli.ess,and *** the present work,the possi.i.i.y of usi.g Klason li.ni. extracted from buckwheat husks as a cathode-acti.e materi.l for a pri.ary li.hi.m battery has been i.vesti.ated for the fi.st *** reacti.n mechani.m i. the li.hi.m/li.ni. electrochemi.al cell was suggested based on the deep galvanostati. di.charge（up to 0.005 V） data and cycli. voltammetry *** dependence of the electrochemi.al behavi.r of the Klason li.ni. on the mi.li.g degree was *** maxi.um speci.i. capaci.y of the li.ni. i. equal to 600 m Ah g-1at a di.charge current densi.y of 75 μA *** effect of the thermal treatment of the Klason li.ni. cathode at250°C on the cell performance was *** was found that the di.charge capaci.y of the cell i.creased by 30% i. the range from 3.3 to0.9 V for the treated cathode *** results demonstrate the prospects of usi.g Klason li.ni.-based electrochemi.al cells as low-rate pri.ary power sources.

Cloni.g and Sequence Analysi. of Di.ease Resi.tance Gene Analogues from Three Wi.d Ri.e Speci.s i. Yunnan

Two sets of degenerate oli.onucleoti.e pri.ers were desi.ned accordi.g to ami.o aci. conserved regi.ns of reported plant di.ease resi.tance genes whi.h encode protei.s that contai. nucleoti.e-bi.di.g si.e and leuci.e-ri.h repeats(NBS-LRR), and the plant di.ease resi.tance genes whi.h encode seri.e/threoni.e protei. ki.ase(STK). By polymerase chai. reacti.n(PCR), di.ease resi.tance gene analogues have been ampli.i.d from three wi.d ri.e speci.s i. Yunnan Provi.ce, Chi.a. The Di. A fragments from ampli.i.ati.n have been cloned i.to the pGEM-T vector respecti.ely. Sequenci.g of the DNA fragments i.di.ated that 7 classes, 2 classes and 6 classes NBS-LRR di.ease resi.tance gene analogues from Oryza rufi.ogon Gri.f. , Oryza offi.i.ali. Wall. , and Oryza meyeri.na Bai.l. were obtai.ed respecti.ely. The two representati.e fragments of TO12 from Oryza offi.i.ali. Wall, and TR19 from Oryza rufi.ogon Gri.f, belong to the same class and homology of thei. sequences are 100%. The result shows that the sequences of the same class di.ease resi.tance gene analogues have no di.ference among di.ferent speci.s of wi.d ri.e. 5 classes STK di.ease resi.tance gene analogues were also obtai.ed among whi.h 4 classes from Oryza rufi.ogon Gri.f. , 1 class from Oryza offi.i.ali. Wall. By compari.on analysi. of ami.o aci. sequences. we found that the obtai.ed di.ease resi.tance gene analogues have very low i.enti.y(low to 25%) wi.h the reported di.ease resi.tance gene L6, N, Bs2, Prf, Pto, Lr10 and Xa21 etc. The fi.di.g suggests that the obtai.ed di.ease resi.tance gene analogues are analogues of putati.e di.ease resi.tance genes that have not been i.olated so far.

The bi.synthesi. of prostanoi.s i. i.volved i. both physi.logi.al and pathologi.al processes. The expressi.n of prostaglandi.-endoperoxi.e synthase 2(PTGS2; also known as COX-2) has been tradi.i.nally associ.ted to the onset of several pathologi.s, from i.flammati.n to cardi.vascular, gastroi.testi.al and oncologi. events. For thi. reason, the search of selecti.e PTGS2 i.hi.i.ors has been a focus for therapeuti. i.terventi.ns. i. addi.i.n to the classi. non-steroi.al anti.i.flammatory drugs, selecti.e and speci.i. PTGS2 i.hi.i.ors, termed coxi.s, have been generated and wi.ely used. PTGS2 acti.i.y i. less restri.ti.e i. terms of substrate speci.i.i.y than the homeostati. counterpart PTGS1, and i. accounts for the elevated prostanoi. synthesi. that accompani.s several pathologi.s. The mai. regulati.n of PTGS2 occurs at the transcri.ti.n level. i. addi.i.n to thi., the stabi.i.y of the mRNA i. fi.ely regulated through the i.teracti.n wi.h several cytoplasmi. elements, rangi.g from speci.i.mi.roR NAs to protei.s that control mR NA degradati.n. Moreover, the protei. has been recogni.ed to be the substrate for several post-translati.nal modi.i.ati.ns that affect both the enzyme acti.i.y and the targeti.g for degradati.n vi. proteasomal and non-proteasomal mechani.ms. Among these modi.i.ati.ns, phosphorylati.n, glycosylati.n and covalent modi.i.ati.ns by reacti.e li.i.i. i.termedi.tes and by free radi.als associ.ted to the proi.flammatory condi.i.n appear to be the mai. changes. i.enti.i.ati.n of these post-translati.nal modi.i.ati.ns i. relevant to better understand the role of PTGS2 i. several pathologi.s and to establi.h a correct analysi. of the potenti.l functi.n of thi. protei. i. di.eases progress. Fi.ally, these modi.i.ati.ns can be used as bi.markers to establi.h correlati.ns wi.h other parameters, i.cludi.g the i.munomodulati.n dependent on molecular pathologi.al epi.emi.logy determi.ants, whi.h may provi.e a better frame for potenti.l therapeuti. i.terventi.ns.
