Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have shown remarkable advancements and achieved impressive power conversion efficiencies since their initial introduction in ***,challenges regarding stability,quality,and sustainability must be addressed for their successful commercial *** review analyses the recent studies and challenges related to the operating life and end-of-life utilization of *** to enhance the stability and mitigate the toxic Pb leakage in operational and recycling approaches of discarded PSCs post their end-of-life are examined to establish a viable and sustainable PSC ***,future research directions are proposed for the advancements in the PSC *** goal is to ensure high efficiency as well as economic and environmental sustainability throughout the lifecycle of PSCs.

In spite of a continuous increase in their power conversion efficiency （PCE） and an economically viable fabrication process,organic-inorganic perovskite solar cells （PSCs） pose a significant problem when used in practical applications：They show fast degradation of the PCE when exposed to very humid *** this study,the stability of PSCs under very humid conditions is greatly enhanced by coating the surface of the PSC devices with a multi-layer film consisting of ultrahydrophobic and relatively hydrophilic layers.A hydrophobic composite of poly（methyl methacrylate）（PMMA）,polyurethane （PU）,and SiO2 nanoparticles successfully retards the water molecules from very humid ***,the hydrophilic layer with moderately PMMA captures the residual moisture within the perovskite layer;subsequently,the perovskite layer *** dual function of the coating film keeps the PCE of PSCs at 17.3% for 180 min when exposed to over 95% humidity.

High-Throughput Pb Recycling for Perovskite Solar Cells Using Biomimetic Whitlockite

Pb contamination in aquatic environments causes severe pollution;therefore,harmless absorbents are *** this study,we report a novel synthesis of whitlockite(WH,Ca_(18)Mg_(2)(HPO_(4))_(2)(PO_(4))_(12)),which is the second most abundant biomineral in human bone,and its application as a high-performing Pb^(2+)***(HAP)and WH are prepared via a simple precipitation *** Pb2+absorption performance and mechanism of the synthesized biominerals are investigated in aqueous solutions at neutral *** results demonstrate that WH exhibits an excellent Pb2+absorption capacity of 2339 mg g^(−1),which is 1.68 times higher than the recorded value for ***,the absorbed Pb^(2+) ions are recycled into high-purity PbI_(2).This is employed as a precursor for the fabrication of perovskite solar cells(PSCs),resulting in a conversion efficiency of 19.00%comparable to that of commercial PbI2 powder(99.99%purity).Our approach provides an efficient way to remove Pb^(2+)ions from water and reuse them in the recycling of PSCs.

Genevestigator analysis has indicated heat shock induction of transcripts for NADPH-thioredoxin reduc-tase, type C （NTRC） in the light. Here we show overexpression of NTRC in Arabidopsis （NTRC°E） resulting in enhanced tolerance to heat shock, whereas NTRC knockout mutant plants （ntrcl） exhibit a temperature sensitive phenotype. To investigate the underlying mechanism of this phenotype, we analyzed the protein＇s biochemical properties and protein structure. NTRC assembles into homopolymeric structures of varying complexity with functions as a disulfide reductase, a foldase chaperone, and as a holdase chaperone. The multiple functions of NTRC are closely correlated with protein structure.. Complexes of higher molecular weight （HMW） showed stronger activity as a holdase chaperone, while low molecular weight （LMW） species exhibited weaker holdase chaperone activity but stronger disulfide reductase and fol-dase chaperone activities. Heat shock converted LMW proteins into HMW complexes. Mutations of the two active site Cys residues of NTRC into Ser （C217/454S-NTRC） led to a complete inactivation of its disulfide reductase and foldase chaperone functions, but conferred only a slight decrease in its holdase chaperone function. The overexpression of the mutated C217/454S-NTRC provided Arabidopsis with a similar degree of thermotolerance compared with that of NTRC°E plants. However, after prolonged incubation under heat shock, NTRC°E plants tolerated the stress to a higher degree than C217/454S-NTRC°E plants. The results suggest that the heat shock-mediated holdase chaperone function of NTRC is responsible for the increased thermotolerance of Arabidopsis and the activity is significantly supported by NADPH.

The primary issue for the commercialization of proton exchange membrane fuel cell（PEMFC） is the carbon corrosion of support under start-up/shut-down conditions. In this study, we employ the nanostructured graphitized carbon induced by heat-treatment. The degree of graphitization starts to increase between 900 and 1300 ℃ as evidenced by the change of specific surface area, interlayer spacing, and ID/IG value. Pt nanoparticles are deposited on fresh carbon black（Pt/CB） and carbon heat-treated at 1700 ℃（Pt/HCB17） with similar particle size and distribution. Electrochemical characterization demonstrates that the Pt/HCB17 shows higher activity than the Pt/CB due to the inefficient microporous structure of amorphous carbon for the oxygen reduction reaction. An accelerating potential cycle between 1.0 and 1.5 V for the carbon corrosion is applied to examine durability at a single cell under the practical start-up/shutdown conditions. The Pt/HCB17 catalyst shows remarkable durability after 3000 potential cycles. The Pt/HCB17 catalyst exhibits a peak power density gain of 3%, while the Pt/CB catalyst shows 65% loss of the initial peak power density. As well, electrochemical surface area and mass activity of Pt/HCB17 catalyst are even more stable than those of the Pt/CB catalyst. Consequently, the high degree of graphitization is essential for the durability of fuel cells in practical start-up/shut-down conditions due to enhancing the strong interaction of Pt and π-bonds in graphitized carbon.

BACKGROUND Tracheal neoplasms represent less than 0.1%of all malignancies and have no established treatment *** resection with reconstruction is the primary *** study demonstrates successful treatment of concurrent lung and tracheal tumors using surgical excision and intraoperative photodynamic therapy(PDT),highlighting the effectiveness and safety of this *** SUMMARY A 74-year-old male with a history of smoking and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was diagnosed with tracheal squamous cell carcinoma and right lower lobe adenocarcinoma.A multidisciplinary team created a treatment plan involving tumor resection and *** tracheal tumor was removed through a tracheal incision and this was followed by intraluminal *** trachea was repaired and a right lower lobectomy was *** patient received a second PDT treatment postoperatively and was discharged 10 d after the tracheal surgery,without *** then underwent platinum-based chemotherapy for lymphovascular invasion of lung ***-month postoperative bronchoscopy revealed normal tracheal mucosa with a scar at the resection site and no evidence of tumor recurrence in the trachea or *** Our case of concurrent tracheal and lung cancers was successfully treated with surgical excision and intraoperative PDT which proved safe and effective in this patient.

Thick and hard ceramic coatings were fabricated on A356 aluminum alloy by using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) technique. The microstructure and phase composition of the PEO coatings were examined by using SEM and XRD method. It is found that the PEO coatings are mainly composed of crystalline α-Al2O3 and mullite. The dry sliding wear test of PEO coatings were carried out on a ring-on-ring wear machine. Results shows that there is hardly no wear loss of polished PEO coatings while the wear rate of uncoated aluminum alloy is 4.3×10-5 mm3·(N·m)-1 at a speed of 0.52 m·s-1 and a load of 40 N.

Developing anode materials with high specific capacity and cycling stability is vital for improving thin-film lithium-ion ***-film zinc oxide(ZnO)holds promise due to its high specific capacity,but it suffers from volume changes and structural stress during cycling,leading to poor battery *** this research,we ingeniously combined polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)with ZnO using a radio frequency(RF)magnetron co-sputtering method,ensuring a strong bond in the thin-film composite *** effectively reduced stress on the active material and mitigated volume change effects during Li^(+)ion intercalation and *** composite thin films are thoroughly characterized using advanced techniques such as X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy for investigating correlations between material properties and electrochemical ***,the ZnO/PTFE thin-film electrode demonstrated an impressive specific capacity of 1305 mAh g^(-1)(=7116 mAh cm^(-3))at a 0.5C rate and a remarkable capacity retention of 82%from the 1st to the 100th cycle,surpassing the bare ZnO thin film(50%).This study provides valuable insights into using binders to stabilize active materials in thin-film batteries,enhancing battery performance.

Successful endoscopic treatment of biliary stricture following mesenteric tear caused by blunt abdominal trauma

Biliary duct injuries are frequently iatrogenic, being associated with surgery for gallbladder stones. However, blunt abdominal trauma such as a motor vehicle crash is a rare cause of extrahepatic biliary stricture. A few reports have been published on biliary strictures treated with endoscopic therapy. In the present study, we describe a suprapancreatic biliary stricture associated with mesenteric tear following road traffic accident. We performed endoscopic stent placement, which was successful in relieving the biliary stricture.
