1D-CNN:Speech Emotion Recognition System Using a Stacked Network with Dilated CNN Features

Emotion recognition from speech data is an active and emerging area of research that plays an important role in numerous applications,such as robotics,virtual reality,behavior assessments,and emergency call ***,researchers have developed many techniques in this field in order to ensure an improvement in the accuracy by utilizing several deep learning approaches,but the recognition rate is still not *** main aim is to develop a new technique that increases the recognition rate with reasonable cost *** this paper,we suggested a new technique,which is a one-dimensional dilated convolutional neural network(1D-DCNN)for speech emotion recognition(SER)that utilizes the hierarchical features learning blocks(HFLBs)with a bi-directional gated recurrent unit(BigRU).We designed a one-dimensional CNN network to enhance the speech signals,which uses a spectral analysis,and to extract the hidden patterns from the speech signals that are fed into a stacked one-dimensional dilated network that are called *** HFLB contains one dilated convolution layer(DCL),one batch normalization(BN),and one leaky_relu(Relu)layer in order to extract the emotional features using a hieratical correlation ***,the learned emotional features are feed into a BigRU in order to adju.t the global weights and to recognize the temporal *** final state of the deep BigRU is passed from a softmax classifier in order to produce the probabilities of the *** proposed model was evaluated over three benchmarked datasets that included the IEMOCAP,EMO-DB,and RAVDESS,which achieved 72.75%,91.14%,and 78.01%accuracy,respectively.

The complex mechanism of degenerative diseases and the non-specific modulation of regenerative targets aretopics that need to be elucidated in order to advance the use of stem cells in improvement of neurodegenerative *** pre-transplantation through post-transplantation, there are many changes in the conditions, both inside andoutside of the stem cells that have not been carefully considered. This has hindered development in the field of celltherapy and regeneration. This viewpoint highlights the potential implications of intracellular and extracellularalterations of stem cells in transplanted areas at risk of neurodegenerative disease.

New results on stability criteria for neural networks with time-varying delays

In this paper, the problem of stability analysis for neural networks with time-varying delays is considered. By constructing a new augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii＇s functional and some novel analysis techniques, improved delaydependent criteria for checking the stability of the neural networks are established. The proposed criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） which can be easily solved and checked by various convex optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are included to show the superiority of our results.

Chinese Medicine Education and Its Challenges in the United States

Over the past 4 decades Chinese medicine （CM） has comeincreasingly into the spotlight in the United States as the clinical effectiveness ofCM has been not only empirically well-tested over a long period of time but alsoproven by recent scientific research. It has proven cost effectiveness, safety, andis authorized for natural and holistic approaches. In consideration, CM is one of theunderutilized health care professions in the United States with a promising ***, CM faces many challenges in its education and system, its niche in thehealth care system as an independent profession, legal and ethical issues. This paperdiscusses the confronting issues in the United States： present education, standardsof CM education with shifting first professional degree level, new delivery systemsof CM education. Development of new research models, training of evidence-basedpractice, and implementation of integrative medicine into CM education also are the key issues in the currentCM profession. This paper also discusses opportunities for the CM profession going beyond the current status,especially with a focus on fusion medicine.

Changes in brain activation patterns according to cross-training effect in serial reaction time task An functional MRI study

Cross-training is a phenomenon related to motor learning, where motor performance of the untrained limb shows improvement in strength and skill execution following unilateral training of the homologous contralateral limb. We used functional MRI to investigate whether motor performance of the untrained limb could be improved using a serial reaction time task according to motor sequential learning of the trained limb, and whether these skill acquisitions led to changes in brain activation patterns. We recruited 20 right-handed healthy subjects, who were randomly allocated into training and control groups. The training group was trained in performance of a serial reaction time task using their non-dominant left hand, 40 minutes per day, for 10 days, over a period of 2 weeks. The control group did not receive training. Measurements of response time and percentile of response accuracy were performed twice during pre- and post-training, while brain functional MRI was scanned during performance of the serial reaction time task using the untrained right hand. In the training group, prominent changes in response time and percentile of response accuracy were observed in both the untrained right hand and the trained left hand between pre- and post-training. The control group showed no significant changes in the untrained hand between pre- and post-training. In the training group, the activated volume of the cortical areas related to motor function （i.e., primary motor cortex, premotor area, posterior parietal cortex） showed a gradual decrease, and enhanced cerebellar activation of the vermis and the newly activated ipsilateral dentate nucleus were observed during performance of the serial reaction time task using the untrained right hand, accompanied by the cross-motor learning effect. A Simulation Environment for Intrusion Detection System in IEC 61850 Based Substation Automation System

greater complexity and interconnectivity across systems embracing electrical power technologies has meant that cyber-security issues have attracted significant attention. In this paper a simulation environment for intrusion detection system in IEC 61850 standard-based substation automation system is provided to test simulated attacks on IEDs （intelligent electronic devices）. Intrusion detection is the process of detecting malicious attacker, so it is an effective and mature security mechanism to protect electrical facility. However, it is not harnessed when securing IEC 61850 automated substation. To prove the detection capability of the system testing environment was developed to analyze and test attacks simulated with different test cases. It shows that the simulation environment works accordingly to various network traffic scenarios and eventually proves the functionality of intrusion detection system to be later deployed in the real IEC 61850 based substation automation system site.

Chemodynamics of heavy metals in long-term contaminated soils:Metal speciation in soil solution

The concentration and speciation of heavy metals in soil solution isolated from long-term contaminated soils were investigated. The soil solution was extracted at 70% maximum water holding capacity （MWHC） after equilibration for 24 h. The free metal concentrations （Cd^2＋, Cu^2＋, Pb^2＋, and Zn^2＋） in soil solution were determined using the Donnan membrane technique （DMT）. Initially the DMT was validated using artificial solutions where the percentage of free metal ions were significantly correlated with the percentages predicted using MINTEQA2. However, there was a significant difference between the absolute free ion concentrations predicted by MINTEQA2 and the values determined by the DMT. This was due to the significant metal adsorption onto the cation exchange membrane used in the DMT with 20%, 28%, 44%, and 8% mass loss of the initial total concentration of Cd, Cu, Pb, and Zn in solution, respectively. This could result in a significant error in the determination of free metal ions when using DMT if no allowance for membrane cation adsorption was made. Relative to the total soluble metal concentrations the amounts of free Cd^2＋（3%-52%） and Zn^2＋（11%-72%） in soil solutions were generally higher than those of Cu^2＋（0.2%-30%） and Pb^2＋（0.6%-10%）. Among the key soil solution properties, dissolved heavy metal concentrations were the most significant factor governing free metal ion concentrations. Soil solution pH showed only a weak relationship with free metal ion partitioning coefficients （Kp） and dissolved organic carbon did not show any significant influence on Kp.

A recent study has identified a surprising metabolic connection between the gut microbiota and intratumoral neutrophils that impairs the oxidative stress adaptation response to chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer.1 This finding suggests that a microbiota metabolite might be used as an additive in improving chemotherapeutic efficacy for cancer patients.

Maximizing power saving with state transition overhead for multiple mobile subscriber stations in WiMAX

In the IEEE 802.16e/m standard, three power saving classes （PSCs） are defined to save the energy of a mobile sub- scriber station （MSS）. However, how to set the parameters of PSCs to maximize the power saving and guarantee the quality of service is not specified in the standard. Thus, many algorithms were proposed to set the PSCs in IEEE 802.16 networks. However, most of the proposed algorithms consider only the power saving for a single MSS. In the algorithms designed for multiple MSSs, the sleep state, which is set for activation of state transition overhead power, is not considered. The PSC setting for real-time connections in multiple MSSs with consideration of the state transition overhead is studied. The problem is non-deterministic polynomial time hard （NP-hard）, and a suboptimal algorithm for the problem is proposed. Simulation results demonstrate that the energy saving of the proposed algorithm is higher than that of state-of-the-art algorithms and approaches the optimum limit.
