Purpose:Cancer cell metastasis is a multistep process,and the mechanism underlying extravasation remains ***3 is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes,including cancer *** on the finding that ELK3 promotes the metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),we investigated whether ELK3 regulates the extravasation of TNBC by forming the ELK3-ID4 ***4 functions as a transcriptional regulator that interacts with other transcription factors,inhibiting their activity and subsequently influencing various biological processes associated with cell differentiation,survival,growth,and ***:We assessed the correlation between the expression of ELK3 and that of ID4 in TNBCs using bioinformatics analyses,QRT-PCR,western blot analysis,luciferase reporter assays,and chromatin ***,adhesion,invasion,and lung metastasis assays were employed to determine whether the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates the metastatic features of ***:We found that ELK3 binds directly to a binding motif close to the ID4 promoter to repress promoter *** expression of E-cadherin in TNBC was regulated by the ELK3-ID4 *** vitro and in vivo analyses showed that inhibiting ID4 expression in ELK3-knockdown MDA-MB-231(ELK3KD)cells restored the ability to extravasate and ***:The results indicate that the ELK3 regulates ID4 promoter activity,and that the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates the metastatic characteristics of TNBC ***,the data suggest that the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates metastasis of TNBCs by modulating expression of E-cadherin.

Objective: Atopic dermatitis(AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that may be linked to changes in the gut microbiome. Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in reducing AD symptoms without serious adverse events, but its underlying mechanism is not completely understood. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the potential effect of acupuncture on AD is gut ***: AD-like skin lesions were induced by applying MC903 topically to the cheek of the *** was done at the Gok-Ji(LI11) acupoints. AD-like symptoms were assessed by lesion scores,scratching behavior, and histopathological changes; intestinal barrier function was measured by fecal output, serum lipopolysaccharide levels, histopathological changes, and mRNA expression of markers involved in intestinal permeability and inflammation. Gut microbiota was profiled using 16S rRNA gene sequencing from fecal ***: Acupuncture effectively improved chronic itch as well as the AD-like skin lesions with epidermal thickening, and also significantly altered gut microbiota structure as revealed by β-diversity indices and analysis of similarities. These beneficial effects were eliminated by antibiotic depletion of gut microbiota,but were reproduced in gut microbiota-depleted mice that received a fecal microbiota transplant from acupuncture-treated mice. Interestingly, AD mice had intestinal barrier dysfunction as indicated by increased intestinal permeability, atrophy of the mucosal structure(reduced villus height and crypt depth), decreased expression of tight junctions and mucus synthesis genes, and increased expression of inflammatory mediators in the ileum. We have studied the redox potentials and electronic properties of C60 and C59N using density functional theory method. It is found that doping C60 with one nitrogen atom results in a slight increase in redox potential. Next, we have also studied C59N functionalized with various redox-active oxygen containing functional groups and strongly electron withdrawing functional groups. It is found that the intrinsic electronic structure of the molecule is the major determinant of the redox potential. Our DFT calculations show that the electron affinity to redox potential of functionalized C59N is correlated with the LUMO of the systems very well. This is the first systematic study on the redox properties and electronic structures of N-doped C60 systems.

Al-Si-Fe based alloys are attractive light-weight structural materials for automotive engine components because of their high wear resistance, low density and low thermal expansion. Al-17Si 5Fe-2Cu-lMg-lNi-lZr alloys were produced in compact form by a spark plasma sintering （SPS） technique using gas atomized powders. The mean grain size of the compact was 530 nm, and fine equiaxed grains and uniformly distributed precipitates were observed in the compact. The compressive deformation behavior of the SPSed materials was examined at various temperatures and strain rates. All the true stress-true strain curves showed steady state flow after reaching peak stress. The peak stress decreased with increasing test temperature and decreasing strain rate. In the deformed specimens, the equiaxed grain morphology and the dislocation microstructure within the equiaxed grains were observed. These facts strongly indicated the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization during high temperature deformation of the present alloy.

BACKGROUND Wet cupping (WC) is a traditional therapy of skin suction-assisted bloodlettingthat is widely used in modern alternative medicine in Asia and the Middle ***, we report the case of a male who presented with ST-elevation myocardialinfarction (STEMI) and life-threatening anemia and underwent excessive *** SUMMARY A 55-year-old male presented with chest pain (30 min) and dyspnea (3 wk). Hisinitial electrocardiogram suggested STEMI in the anterior wall. Furthermore, hislaboratory results showed severe anemia with a hemoglobin level of 4.1 g/dL. Ofnote, the patient underwent regular WC therapy for chronic back pain, which hehad recently intensified. His WC practice resulted in life-threatening anemia andeventually STEMI. Percutaneous coronary intervention in the left anteriordescending artery was performed to treat the STEMI. His dyspnea dramaticallyimproved after the transfusion, and his hemoglobin level returned to 14.8 g/dLwithin 2 mo after discharge. He has been uneventful for the last seven years *** The current case demonstrates that excessive WC without adequate medicalmonitoring can result in severe anemia, which can further develop into STEMI.

This work demonstrates high-performance and current crowding-free InGaN/GaN light-emitting diodes （LEDs） using an electrically-reverse-connected Schottky diode （SD） and an Mg-delta （δ） doped layer. Possible mechanism of carrier transport at the interface between transparent conducting electrode （TCE） and p-GaN with the δ-doped layer is also investigated. Results show that the LED with the SD and Mg delta （δ）-doping layer yields lower series resistance, higher output power, and lower reverse leakage current compared to normal LEDs. In addition, unlike the normal LED, there is no occurrence for the current crowding effect in the proposed LED even at high current density of 380mA/cm2. These remarkable behaviours clearly indicate that the use of the SD and δ- doping in the p-GaN region is very promising to achieve high-brightness and excellent-reliability GaN-based LEDs.

Objective： To investigate the effect of three major ginsenosides from mountain ginseng as anti- cancer substance and explore the underlying mechanism involved in lung cancer. Methods： The inhibitory proliferation of lung cancer by major five ginsenosides （Rbl, Rb2, Rgl, Rc, and Re） was examined using 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay. Calculated 50% inhibition （IC50） values of five ginsenosides were determined and compared each other. Apoptosis by the treatment of single ginsenoside was performed by fluorescence-assisted cytometric spectroscopy. The alterations of apoptosis-related proteins were evaluated by Western blot analysis. Results： The abundance of ginsenosides in butanol extract of mountain ginseng （BX-MG） was revealed in the order of Rbl, Rgl, Re, Rc and Rb2. Among them, Rbl was the most effective to lung cancer cell, followed by Rb2 and Rgl on the basis of relative IC50 values of IMR90 versus A549 cell. The alterations of apoptotic proteins were confirmed in lung cancer A549 cells according to the administration of Rbl, Rb2 and Rgl. The expression levels of caspase-3 and caspase-8 were increased upon the treatment of three ginsenosides, however, the levels of caspase-9 and anti-apoptotic protein Bax were not changed. Conclusion： Major ginsenosides such as Rbl, Rb2 and Rgl comprising BX-MG induced apoptosis in lung cancer cells via extrinsic apoptotic pathway rather than intrinsic mitochondrial pathway.

BACKGROUND Kawasaki disease(KD)is an acute self-limiting febrile vasculitis that occurs during childhood and can cause coronary artery aneurysm(CAA).CAAs are associated with a high rate of adverse cardiovascular *** SUMMARY A Korean 35-year-old man with a 30-year history of KD presented to the emergency room with chest *** coronary angiography was performed as ST-segment elevation in the inferior leads was observed on the *** aneurysm of the left circumflex(LCX)coronary artery was found with massive thrombi within.A drug-eluting 4.5 mm 23 mm-sized stent was inserted into the occluded area without *** maximal diameter of the LCX was 6.0 mm with a Z score of 4.7,suggestive of a small aneurysm considering his age,sex,and body surface *** further present a case series of 19 patients with KD,including the current patient,presenting with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Notably,none of the cases showed Z scores;only five patients(26%)had been regularly followed up by a physician,and only one patient(5.3%)was being treated with antithrombotic therapy before ACS *** For KD presenting with ACS,regular follow up and medical therapy may be crucial for improved outcomes.
