BACKGROUND Renal cell carcinoma(RCC)is the third most common malignancy in the genitourinary *** lungs,bone,lymph nodes,liver,and brain are common metastatic sites of ***,there is limited literature on single omental metastasis of *** SUMMARY We present the case of a 44-year-old man with single omental metastasis of RCC after laparoscopic radical *** diagnosis of the resected left kidney revealed pT3a clear cell RCC(Fuhrman grade III).At 6 mo postoperatively,abdominal computed tomography revealed a 12-mm enhancing nodule in the left lower *** 7 mo after initial operation,laparoscopic removal of the left omental nodule was *** pathological results indicated metastatic clear cell ***,the patient is being treated with adjuvant *** Omental metastasis of RCC owing to laparoscopic radical nephrectomy is *** should be aware of the diverse nature of RCC.

The thermal and mechanical properties of the polyamide 6/boron nitride and polyphenylene sulfide/graphite composites have been investigated as a function of composition and size of fillers. The addition of highly thermal conductive h-BN and graphite gives rise to large increase （about 2 times） of thermal conductivity of individual polymer. In PPS/graphite system, the higher conductivity value was obtained when smaller graphites were added. Meanwhile, the tensile and flexural strength are reduced upon increasing filler loading.

Aims An open-field warming experiment enables us to test the effects of projected temperature increase on change in plant phenology with fewer confounding factors and to study phenological response to temperature ranges beyond natural *** study aims to(i)examine the effect of temperature increase on leaf unfold-ing and senescence of oriental oak(Quercus variabilis Blume)under experimental warming and(ii)measure temperature-related parameters used in estimating phenological response to tempera-ture *** Using an open-field warming system with infrared heaters,we increased the air temperature by~3℃ in the warmed plots compared with that of the control plots consistently for 2 *** unfolding and senescence dates of *** seedlings were recorded and temperature-related phenological parameters were *** Findings The timing of leaf unfolding was advanced by 3-8 days(1.1-3.0 days/℃)and the date of leaf senescence was delayed by 14-19 days(5.0-7.3 days/℃)under elevated air ***,the cumulative degree days(CDD)of leaf unfolding were not significantly changed by experimental warming,which suggest the applicability of a constant CDD value to estimate the change in spring leaf phe-nology under 3℃ *** ranges of advancement and temperature sensitivity in spring phenology and delayed autumn phe-nology and proposed temperature parameters from this study might be applied to predict future phenological change.

Cytomegalovirus(CMV) infection of the gastrointestinal tract has been reported most frequently in the setting of immunodeficiency. The whole gastrointestinal tract can be affected; however, the small bowel is rarely affected. We report a case of CMV enteritis with jejunal perforation in a 53-year-old woman with a history of chemoradiation therapy for endometrial cancer 8 years previously. At follow-up evaluation, lower abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting appeared. Abdominal computed tomography showed intra-abdominal free air in the subphrenic space and porta hepatis. The jejunal segment revealed serosal purulent exudates with a perforation. The resected jejunal segment showed a large geographic ulcerative mucosal lesion. The microscopic findings revealed a diffuse ulcerative mucosal change with a prominent granulation tissue formation and many large atypical vascular endothelial cells and stromal fibroblasts with intranuclear or intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies. These cells were positive for CMV antibody. The final diagnosis was CMV-associated jejunitis with a jejunal perforation.

Bone undergoes a constant and continuous remodeling process that is tightly regulated by the coordinated and sequential actions of bone-resorbing osteoclasts and bone-forming *** studies have shown that histone demethylases are implicated in osteoblastogenesis;however,little is known about the role of histone demethylases in osteoclast ***,we identified KDM4B as an epigenetic regulator of osteoclast *** of KDM4B significantly blocked the formation of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase-positive multinucleated *** with myeloid-specific conditional knockout of KDM4B showed an osteopetrotic phenotype due to osteoclast *** analysis revealed that KDM4B physically and functionally associates with CCAR1 and MED1 in a *** genome-wide chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP)-sequencing,we revealed that the KDM4B–CCAR1–MED1 complex is localized to the promoters of several osteoclast-related genes upon receptor activator of NF-κB ligand *** demonstrated that the KDM4B–CCAR1–MED1 signaling axis induces changes in chromatin structure(euchromatinization)near the promoters of osteoclast-related genes through H3K9 demethylation,leading to NF-κB p65 recruitment via a direct interaction between KDM4B and ***,small molecule inhibition of KDM4B activity impeded bone loss in an ovariectomized mouse *** together,our findings establish KDM4B as a critical regulator of osteoclastogenesis,providing a potential therapeutic target for osteoporosis.

Apocrine carcinoma is a rare malignant adnexal neoplasm. The differential diagnosis between apocrine carcinoma and cutaneous metastasis is often difficult. Here, we report a case of locally recurrent penile apocrine carcinoma initially diagnosed as metastatic adenocarcinoma of the colon. A 75-year-old man with a history of surgical resection due to sigmoid colon cancer and penile metastasis two years prior to this study presented with a nodule at the left penile base. He underwent a wide local resection of the penile mass under a suggested preoperative diagnosis of extra-mammary Paget＇s disease （EMPD） associated with previous sigmoid colon cancer. However, the previously and currently resected penile masses were identified as primary apocrine carcinoma upon hematoxylin and eosin （H＆E） staining and immunohistochemical staining. Although the incidence is extremely rare, both clinicians and pathologists should be alert to the possibility of synchronous double primary apocrine carcinoma in cancer patients with malignant cutaneous lesions.

The biological half-life and final residue levels of indoxacarb and pyridalyl were determined in cauliflower over a 10-day cultivation period following applications of a standard (100 g ***–1 and 200 g a.i.·ha–1, respectively) and double dose (200 g a.i.·ha–1 and 400 g a.i.·ha–1, respectively). The residue levels were analyzed by gas chromatography with recovery ranging from 92.1% to 109.7%. The biological half-lives of indoxacarb and pyridalyl were 6.33 and 7.74 days for the standard dose, and 6.26 and 7.44 days for the double dose, respectively. The initial and persisting concentrations of indoxacarb and pyridalyl were all below the Korean maximum residue limits for broccoli of 1.0 mgkg–1 and 3.0 mgkg–1, respectively.
