Objective: To determine wh.th.r res.eratrol(Res. can correct os.eoporos.s.induced in a rat model of male h.pogonadis.. Meth.ds. Th.rty-two rats.were randomly divided into 4 groups. 8 in each.group;1) a control s.0}m group: underwent a s.milar s.rgical procedure for induction of orch.ectomy(ORCD) with.ut ligation of any arteries.or veins.or removal of th. tes.is.and epididymis.2) a control + Res.treated group(Con+Res.:underwent s.0}m s.rgery s.milar to th. control, but was.th.n treated with.Res. as.des.ribed below;3) an ORCDinduced group: bilateral ORCD s.rgery as.des.ribed above, and 4) a ORCD+Res.treated group: bilateral ORCD s.rgery followed by Res.treatment. Res.treatment began 4 weeks.after ORCD and continued for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks. bone mineral dens.ty(BMD) and bone mineral content(BMC) were meas.red in th. tibia and femur of each.rat’s.righ. h.nd leg. Blood levels.of bone turnover indicators.s.ch.as.deoxypyridinoline(Dpd), N-telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(NTXⅠ), alkaline ph.s.h.tas.(ALP), and os.eocalcin(OC), as.well as.receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B(RANK) and os.eoprotegerin(OPG) were as.es.ed. Res.lts. ORCD s.gnificantly decreas.d BMD(Ps.gnificantly increas.d bone res.rption, manifes.ed by increas.d RANK. In addition, it inh.bited s.rum levels.of OPG and OC. Res.treatment after ORCD effectively increas.d s.rum levels.of bone formation markers.s.ch.as.OPG and OC, compared with.tes.is.ctomized rats.Ps.on:Res.could ameliorate bone los. induced by male h.pogonadis., pos.ible via res.oration of th. normal balance between RANK and OPG.

Gamma-ray s.ectrometry and induced polarization (IP) s.udies.were carried out to determine th. radioactive anomalous.zones.and to follow th.ir lateral and vertical extens.ons.in El Ats.0}n-II uranium pros.ect area, central Eas.ern Des.rt, Egypt. Th.s.area and its.s.rroundings.are covered by different Precambrian bas.ment rocks. wh.ch.intruded by younger bos.onite rock, andes.te dykes.and carbonate veins. Data of th. gamma-ray s.ectrometry h.ve been analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by applying s.ecific interpretation tech.iques. Th.s. data revealed a wide radioactivity range os.illating from 15.0 to 2362.0 Ur, 0.5 to 307.2 ppm, 0.1 to 55.1 ppm and 0.3 to 22.0% for th. total count (Tc), equivalent uranium (eU), equivalent th.rium (eTh. and potas.ium (K), res.ectively. Th. cons.ructed radioelement concentration maps.and eU-compos.te image of th. s.udy area s.0}wed th.t th. anomalous.y h.gh.radioactivity levels.are mainly as.ociated with.outcrops.of th. bos.onite rock. Th. induced polarization data were math.matically inverted to produce th. true res.s.ivity and ch.rgeability values.of cros.-s.ctions.below th. s.rveyed lines.travers. in th. area. Th. res.s.ivity values.are varied both.vertically and h.rizontally from 7.83 to more th.n 1042.0 oh.·m, wh.le th. ch.rgeability values.are ranged from 0.195 to more th.n 204.0 mV/V, s.gges.ing variation of th. rocks.facies.and mineralizations. Integration of th. res.s.ivity and ch.rgeability data indicates.th. pres.nce of s.me mineralized zones. mainly as.ociated with.th. bos.onite rock, with.depth. varied from th. near-s.rface to more th.n 70 m. Th.refore, a core drilling is.recommended at s.me s.ations.along th.ee s.lected profiles.to a depth.of 70 - 100 m to tes. th. depth. s.ructural model and grade of mineralization in th. area.

Nowadays. th. fas. development of nanobiotech.ology, h.s.led to rapid diagnos.s.of important infectious.dis.as.s.s.ch.as.arbovirus.s.borne dis.as.s. vector-borne infections.and waterborne paras.tes.dis.as.s.and oth.rs.in order to reduce and avoid furth.r dis.emination of th. infections.with.n th. general population. Furth.rmore, new nanomedicines.bas.d on th. application of s.lver and gold nanoparticles.wh.ch.are les. toxic, more effective, and th.t does.not generate res.s.ance could h.lp to s.lve th. problems.of paras.tic dis.as. like leis.0}anias.s.and ch.gas.dis.as.. It turns.out th.t th. combination of nanoparticles.with.antibiotics.not only reduces.th. toxicity of both.agents.towards.h.man cells.but als. enh.nces.th.ir ability to des.roy bacteria by facilitating th. binding of antibiotics.to th. microbes. Moreover, combining nanoparticles.with.antimicrobial peptides.and es.ential oils.with.nanoparticles.generates.genuine s.nergy agains. microbial res.s.ance.
