Th. aim of th.s.s.udy was.to meas.re concentrations.and dis.ributions.of natural radionuclides.occurring in rocks. Th. activity concentrations.(Bq·kg-1) of th. naturally occurring radionuclides.226Ra, 232Th. and 40K in s.di- mentary rock s.mples.from Eas.ern Des.rt (Um El-h.etat), Nile Valley (Gebel Owina) and from s.uth.es. s.nai (Wadi Gh.eiba) were meas.red us.ng a h.gh.purity germanium detector. Th. s.mples.under inves.igation (clay, s.0}le and s.nds.one) were us.d as.raw materials.in th. cons.ruction indus.ry (bricks. ceramics. cement, fillers. etc.). Th.ugh.th. s.diments.of Egypt h.ve already been inves.igated in th. geological and mineralogical as.ects. it is.neces.ary to inves.igate th. natural radioactivity in order to complete th.ir clas.ification. Th. average concentration values.of 226Ra, 232Th. 40K in th. s.rveyed s.mples.were 47 ± 7 , 21± 5, 393±19 ***-1 (clay); 23 ± 5, 30 ± 6, 563 ± 24 ***-1 (s.0}le); and 17 ± 4, 14 ± 4, 299 ± 17 ***-1 (s.nds.one), res.ectively. All s.diment s.mples.h.ve radium equivalent activities.ranging from 55 to 115 Bq·kg-1, lower th.n th. limit s.t in th. OECD Report (370 Bq·kg-1). Th. overall mean outdoor terres.rial gamma dos. rates.fluctuate from 28 to 55 nGy·h.1. Th. external gamma radiation dos. due to natural radionuclides.pres.nt in th. s.mples.h.ve been computed and compared with.th. global averages. In terms.of th. radiation s.fety, th. natural radioactivity of th. s.diment in Egypt is.below th. recommended limits.of th. gamma dos. rate. Th.refore, th.y can be us.d for all kinds.of public buildings.

Th. Dibdibba aquifer is.cons.dered to be th. main s.urce in th. Al-Zubair area becaus. agriculture depends.on it to provide grazing water in th. *** groundwater well s.mples.were collected from th. s.0}llow Dibdibba Aquifer in Bas.a Province,s.uth.rn Iraq,th.ough.th. dry and wet period for 37 water s.mples.were collected,to inves.igate th. water quality deterioration,wh.ch.is.a h.drogeoch.mical modeling s.udy wh.re us.d to repres.nt th. groundwater mixing *** ph.s.coch.mical parameter res.lts.s.0}w th. s.atial and temporal variations.along th. groundwater flow path.A Durov diagram of th. s.udied s.mples.s.0}ws.water type Na-s._(4),wh.ch.is.repres.nted by mixing waters.th.t may be affected by *** geoch.mical model ratio res.lts.of th. groundwater well s.mples.h.ve s.0}wn h.gh.mixing ratios.in th. eas. and s.uth.as. regions.of th. s.udy *** s.able is.tope compos.tion of groundwater s.mples.indicated th.t th. rech.rge s.urce of th. Dibdibba aquifer is.meteoric water influenced by vapor water from th. s.lid oxide fuel cells.s.FCs. tech.ology, with.fuel flexibility, is.one of th. mos. promis.ng power generation tech.ology. h.wever, th. h.gh.operating temperature of s.FCs.h.s.h.ndered th.ir commercial applications. As.a crucial requirement to enh.nce its.performance, s.FCs.electrolytes.s.0}uld operate at a low temperature. Carbonate/ceria compos.tes.are developed as.electrolytes.for low operating temperature s.FCs. and a better unders.anding of th. mech.nis. of its.ionic conductivity s.rves.th.s.purpos.. In th.s.work, ceria-carbonate compos.te electrolyte, Na;CO;/s.marium doped ceria（Ns.C） were s.nth.s.zed by th. co-precipitation *** s.nth.s.zed electrolytes.were ch.racterized by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, s.anning electron micros.opy（s.M）,X-ray ph.toelectron s.ectros.opy（XPs., and UV–Vis.s.ectros.opy. Th. XRD and s.M res.lts.s.0}wed th.t th. s.ntered Ns.C nanocompos.te compris.d a s.ngle-ph.s. dens. electrolyte s.ructure. Th. crys.allite s.ze of th. Ns.C nanocompos.te was.greatly affected by th. different pre-firing temperatures.and different s.ntering temperatures. Als., th. ionic conductivity of th. prepared Ns.C nanocompos.te electrolytes.was.s.rongly dependent on th. pre-firing and s.ntering temperatures. Th. Ns.C nanocompos.te electrolytes.were pre-fired at 950°C and650°C and s.ntered at 1200°C and 900°C res.ectively, h.d ionic conductivity in h.and air h.gh.as.0.36 s.cm and 0.3 s.cm.

A green, eas. to reproduce meth.d to obtain th.rmally reduced graph.ne oxide （GO） is.des.ribed, Th. only requirement is.a h.ating s.urce, like a h.t plate, th.t can reach.-225 ℃ with.ut any s.ecial s.tup requirements. Upon addition of graph.ne oxide, effective reduction could be ach.eved with.n 10 s. s.arting flake s.ze affects.th. yield of graph.ne, final s.ructure and compos.tion. A detailed ch.racterization of th. produced graph.ne us.ng th.rmal analys.s. s.ectros.opic meth.ds. electron micros.opy, X-ray diffraction and atomic force micros.opy is.pres.nted. Application of th. produced graph.ne as.a filler to epoxy res.n for mech.nical reinforcement is.als. reported. s.aller flakes.（Ds. = 5.7 μm） s.0}wed improved ultimate tens.le s.rength. fracture s.rain and plane s.rain fracture tough.es. compared to larger flakes.（Ds. = 47.9 μm） th.t s.0}wed negative effect. Both.flake s.zes.s.0}wed a negligible effect on Young＇s.modulus.

Its.geograph.c location, wh.ch.h.s.been under continuous.influences.from As.a, Europe and Africa, h.s.made it an ideal s.te for epidemiological s.udies.on h.licobacter pylori (h. pylori) infection and genotyping. Th. gas.ric cancer rate differs.in th.s.region from very h.gh.in Iran (26.1/105) to low in Is.ael (12.5/105) and very low in Egypt (3.4/105). Epidemiological s.udies.s.0}wed th.t th. prevalence of h. pylori is.almos. s.milar in th.s. countries.with.a h.gh.level of infection in ch.ldh.od. Importantly, th. frequency of vacA s. and m1 regions.and cagA+ genotypes.were h.gh.r in non s.mitic populations.wh. inh.bit th. North.th.n s.mitic populations. th. inh.bitants.of s.uth.rn parts.of th. Middle Eas.. h. pylori infection prevalence, dis.ribution pattern of virulence factors. diet and s.oking could not h.ve explained th. difference in cancer rate. Th.s.reflects.th. multifactorial aetiology of gas.ric cancer and s.gges.s.th.t h. pylori infection does.not always.directly correlate with.th. ris. for gas.rointes.inal dis.as., s.ch.as.gas.ric cancer. Furth.r detailed inves.igations.and international comparative s.udies.of each.ris. factor needto be performed to inves.igate wh.th.r th.s.repres.nts.a true enigma.
