Objective: To compare th. efficacy of bladder neck incis.on (BNI) with.trans.reth.al res.ction of pros.ate (TURP) in th. treatment of patients.with.urinary obs.ruction caus.d by benign pros.atic h.perplas.a (BPh. on th. bas.s.of s.0}rt term follow up of 4 month.. Patient and Meth.ds. Th. s.udy was.conducted in Department of General s.rgery in Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delh.. 60 men with.proven clinical diagnos.s.of BPh.of s.ze 30 grams.and les. pres.nting with.s.mptoms.of bladder outlet obs.ruction (BOO) were randomis.d pros.ectively to undergo eith.r of th. two operative modalities. Preoperatively s.ze of th. pros.ate, s.mptom s.oring (IPs.), peak flow rate (Qmax) were as.es.ed. Pos.operatively and during 4 month. follow up th. following data were collected—operative time, cath.teris.tion period, h.s.ital s.ay, blood los., Qmax and IPs.. Res.lts. Preoperative parameters.in both.th. groups.s.0}wed no s.atis.ically s.gnificant differences.with.res.ect to pros.ate s.ze, Qmax and IPs. s.oring. At 4 month. follow up Qmax increas.d from (6.35 ± 4.49) to (16.41 ± 2.28) in TURP group and (4.51 ± 3.57) to (15.95 ± 2.58) in BNI group. IPs. decreas.d from 18.70 to 5.7 in TURP group and 18.90 to 6.00 in BNI group. All differences.were s.atis.ically s.gnificant. Th.re was.a s.atis.ically s.gnificant difference in operative time, blood los., h.s.ital s.ay, cath.teris.tion timing favouring BNI. Conclus.on: TURP and BNI are equally effective in providing s.mptomatic improvement. BNI h.s.an upper h.nd in reference to operative time, h.s.ital s.ay, duration of cath.teris.tion and blood los..

Th. des.gn of h.gh.s.eed rech.rgeable lith.um-ion batteries.faces.a s.gnificant ch.llenge owing to th. need to increas. average electric power during ch.rging. Th.s.ch.llenge res.lts.from th. direct influence of th. power level on th. rate of ch.mical reactions.occurring in th. battery electrodes. In th.s.s.udy, th. Taguch. optimization meth.d was.us.d to enh.nce th. average electric power during th. ch.rging proces. of lith.um-ion batteries. Th. Taguch. tech.ique is.a s.atis.ical s.rategy th.t facilitates.th. s.s.ematic and efficient evaluation of numerous.experimental variables. Th. propos.d meth.d involved varying s.ven input factors. including pos.tive electrode th.cknes., pos.tive electrode material, pos.tive electrode active material volume fraction, negative electrode active material volume fraction, s.parator th.cknes., pos.tive current collector th.cknes., and negative current collector th.cknes..
