Synthesis and characterization of nanocarbon from waste batteries via an eco-friendly method

The widespread use of disposable batteries to power common electronic devices is a major source of e-waste. There are growing environmental and health concerns due to the expansion of e-waste around the world. Hence, developing a reliable system for recycling old batteries has reached the top of the recycling priority list. The current study presents a novel approach to synthesis carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) from spent batteries via an eco-friendly method that offers economical, environment-friendly, and nontoxic approaches in comparison to conventional chemical methods. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (Fe-SeM), energy-dispersive X-ray (eDX), powder X-ray diffractometry (XRD), UV-VIS absorption analysis (UV), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Atomic force microscope (AFM), and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). The average diameter of the synthesized particles was 40.16 nm, and the particles tended to be aspherical in shape. eDX analysis also predicted the presence of pure carbon, with some contamination arrived at 15% (in weight). This is a novel study in which nanocarbons were synthesized in a brine (7600x10(-6)) from a target (CNPs>75 nm), which paves the way for future use of CNPs derived from spent batteries and helps the environment by decreasing the amount of electronic waste dumped in landfills.

This editorial elaborates on the current and future applications of linear endoscopic ultrasound(eUS),a substantial diagnostic and therapeutic modality for various anatomical *** scope of endosonographic assessment is broad and,among other factors,allows for the evaluation of the mediastinal anatomy and related pathologies,such as mediastinal lymphadenopathy and the staging of central malignant lung ***,eUS assessment has proven more accurate in detecting small lesions missed by standard imaging examinations,such as computed tomography or magnetic resonance *** focus on its current uses in the mediastinum,including lung and esophageal cancer staging,as well as evaluating mediastinal lymphadenopathy and submucosal *** editorial also explores future perspectives of eUS in mediastinal examination,including ultrasound-guided therapies,artificial intelligence integration,advancements in mediastinal modalities,and improved diagnostic approaches for various mediastinal lesions.

The proposal is “mass increases due to strong and gravitational potentials, while it decreases due to electromagnetic potential”. This proposal explains the big difference in mass between hadrons (protons, neutrons, & mesons) and their components (quarks), mass difference between nucleus and its individual components (protons and neutrons), massless of gamma photons, abnormal masses of mesons and bosons, and the excess in galaxy masses (dark matter). Also, this proposal shows the exact relation between mass and energy: Strong Potential=−3.04mc2| electric Potential |=−5.57×10−3mc2Gravitational Potential=−1.22×10−7mc2where m represents the excess in mass due to strong potential, or gravitational potential and represents the decrease in mass due to electromagnetic potential. Released energy here equals potential energy and doesn’t equal decrease in mass using the formula e = mc2. Released energy is transferred to heat, photons, kinetic energy… Finally, proposal will try to describe the relation between photon energy and mass of its components using the general equation of kinetic energy: Photon energy=1/2mc2m is the sum of the individual masses of its components, while the total mass of photon is zero.

Objective:We described the technique and outcomes of robot-assisted repair of uretero-enteric strictures(UeS)following robot-assisted radical cystectomy(RARC)and urinary ***:Retrospective review of our RARC database from November 2005 to August 2023 at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer center was *** who developed UeS and ultimately underwent robot-assisted uretero-enteric reimplantation(RUeR)were *** method was used to compute the cumulative incidence recurrence rate of UeS after RUeR.A multivariable regression model was used to identify variables associated with UeS ***:A total of 123(15%)out of 808 RARC patients developed UeS,of whom 52 underwent reimplantation(45 patients underwent RUeR[n=55 cases]and seven patients underwent open ureteroenteric reimplantation).The median time from RARC to UeS was 4.4(interquartile range 3.0e7.0)months,and the median time between UeS and RUeR was 5.2(interquartile range 3.2e8.9)*** 3-year recurrence rate after RUeR is about 29%.On multivariable analysis,longer hospital stay(hazard ratio 1.37,95%confidence interval 1.16e1.61,ped with recurrent UeS after ***:RUeR for UeS after RARC is feasible with durable outcomes although a notable subset of patients experienced postoperative complications and UeS recurrence.

Thyroid hormones play essential roles in spermatogenesis,but their effects on infertile males remain poorly *** study aimed to evaluate the impact of combining carbimazole(CBZ)with vitamin e(Ve)on testicular injury induced by experimental hyperthyroidism in adult albino rats,focusing on oxidative,inflammatory,and apoptotic *** this experimental study,64 adult male albino Wistar rats were divided into eight groups:Group I(control-untreated),Group II(CBZ-control),Group III(Ve-control),Group IV(CBZ+Ve-control),Group V(levothyroxine-induced testicular injury),Group VI(levothyroxine+CBZ-treated),Group VII(levothyroxine+Ve-treated),and Group VIII(levothyroxine+CBZ+Ve-treated).The study was conducted in the Faculty of Medicine,Suez Canal University(Ismailia,egypt).After cervical decapitation,both testes and epididymis were examined histopathologically and *** differences were observed among groups concerning malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione(GSH),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and catalase(CAT;all Perase chain reaction analysis showed significant differences in tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-10(IL-10),Bcl-2-associated X protein(BAX),B-cell lymphoma 2 protein(Bcl2),p53,Caspase-3,Caspase-8,Caspase-9,and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)mRNA levels(all Perthyroid group treated with CBZ alone(Group VI)exhibited testicular side effects,affecting seminiferous tubules and ***,the Group VIII showed improved spermatogenesis and a decrease in testicular side *** addition of Ve to the treatment of hyperthyroid rats with CBZ reduced testicular side effects and seminiferous tubular affection when potentially improving *** research is needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms fully.

随着化石燃料燃烧导致的二氧化碳排放不断加剧气候变化,且化石燃料储量日益减少,寻求可再生能源已成为一项紧迫的任务.其中,藻类衍生可持续燃料因具有成本优势和可运输性,在解决全球能源危机方面展现出广阔前景,备受关注.利用化学转化技术从微藻中提取脂质,并通过酯交换反应可以将其转化为脂肪酸甲酯,是生产绿色生物燃料的有效途径.这一过程涉及游离脂肪酸、磷脂和甘油三酯的提取,并且生产过程能耗低,成为满足日益增长的能源需求的一种理想解决方案.本文综述了微藻脂质提取和酯交换制备生物燃料的相关研究进展.首先,介绍了微藻脂质的提取方法,包括溶剂提取法、索氏提取法、布利格和戴耶法、超临界二氧化碳提取以及离子液体溶剂法等,并分析了各方法的优缺点.随后,重点阐述了酯交换技术在微藻脂质转化中的应用,包括酸碱催化、酶催化以及原位酯交换反应等,并探讨了这些技术的反应机理、催化剂选择、反应器设计以及生物油生产工艺等方面的研究进展.通过综述上述研究进展,为微藻脂质的生产和应用提供了理论指导.研究表明,通过优化催化剂种类、反应条件以及提取方法,可以有效提高微藻脂质的转化效率和生物油品质.同时,本文也指出了当前微藻脂质生产中面临的挑战,如微藻栽培和生长条件优化、高效转化技术的开发等.随着可持续能源日益受到重视,微藻脂质作为一种可再生能源具有巨大的发展潜力.未来研究应进一步关注微藻的规模化栽培、生长条件优化以及高效转化技术的研发,以提高微藻脂质的产量和品质.同时,应进一步推动和实现微藻生物燃料的实际应用,从而为应对气候变化和能源危机提供有效的解决方案.

Optimization of the mechanical performance and damage failure characteristics of laminated composites based on fiber orientation

In this study,the effect of fiber angle on the tensile load-bearing performance and damage failure characteristics of glass composite laminates was investigated experimentally,analytically,and *** glass fabric in the laminate was perfectly aligned along the load direction(i.e.,at 0°),offset at angles of 30°and 45°,or mixed in different directions(i.e.,0°/30°or 0°/45°).The composite laminates were fabricated using vacuum-assisted resin *** influence of fiber orientation angle on the mechanical properties and stiffness degradation of the laminates was studied via cyclic tensile strength ***,simulations have been conducted using finite element analysis and analytical approaches to evaluate the influence of fiber orientation on the mechanical performance of glass *** testing revealed that,although the composite laminates laid along the 0°direction exhibited the highest stiffness and strength,their structural performance deteriorated *** also determined that increasing the fiber offset angle(i.e.,30°)could optimize the mechanical properties and damage failure characteristics of glass *** results of the numerical and analytical approaches demonstrated their ability to capture the mechanical behavior and damage failure modes of composite laminates with different fiber orientations,which may be used to prevent the catastrophic failures that occur in composite laminates.

Sentiment analysis attracts the attention of egyptian Decisionmakers in the education *** offers a viable method to assess education quality services based on the students’feedback as well as that provides an understanding of their *** machine learning techniques offer automated strategies to process big data derived from social media and other digital channels,this research uses a dataset for tweets’sentiments to assess a few machine learning *** dataset preprocessing to remove symbols,necessary stemming and lemmatization is performed for features *** is followed by several machine learning techniques and a proposed Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)classifier optimized by the Salp Swarm Algorithm(SSA)and measured the corresponding ***,the validity and accuracy of commonly used classifiers,such as Support Vector Machine,Logistic Regression Classifier,and Naive Bayes classifier,were ***,LSTM based on the SSA classification model was compared with Support Vector Machine(SVM),Logistic Regression(LR),and Naive Bayes(NB).Finally,as LSTM based SSA achieved the highest accuracy,it was applied to predict the sentiments of students’feedback and evaluate their association with the course outcome evaluations for education quality purposes.

The aim of this study was to measure concentrations and distributions of natural radionuclides occurring in rocks. The activity concentrations (Bq·kg-1) of the naturally occurring radionuclides 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K in sedi- mentary rock samples from eastern Desert (Um el-Huetat), Nile Valley (Gebel Owina) and from southwest Sinai (Wadi Ghweiba) were measured using a high-purity germanium detector. The samples under investigation (clay, shale and sandstone) were used as raw materials in the construction industry (bricks, ceramics, cement, fillers, etc.). Though the sediments of egypt have already been investigated in the geological and mineralogical aspects, it is necessary to investigate the natural radioactivity in order to complete their classification. The average concentration values of 226Ra, 232Th, 40K in the surveyed samples were 47 ± 7 , 21± 5, 393±19 ***-1 (clay); 23 ± 5, 30 ± 6, 563 ± 24 ***-1 (shale); and 17 ± 4, 14 ± 4, 299 ± 17 ***-1 (sandstone), respectively. All sediment samples have radium equivalent activities ranging from 55 to 115 Bq·kg-1, lower than the limit set in the OeCD Report (370 Bq·kg-1). The overall mean outdoor terrestrial gamma dose rates fluctuate from 28 to 55 nGy·h-1. The external gamma radiation dose due to natural radionuclides present in the samples have been computed and compared with the global averages. In terms of the radiation safety, the natural radioactivity of the sediment in egypt is below the recommended limits of the gamma dose rate. Therefore, they can be used for all kinds of public buildings.
