Ob.ective:To investigation the chemopreventive potential of Fumaria indica（***） extract（FIE） on N-nitrosodiethylamine and CClb.4b.-induced hepatocarcinogenesis in Wislar ***:The experimental animals were divided into six groups（n=6）.Hepatocellular carcinoma was induced b. single intraperitoneal injection of N-nitrosodiethylamine（NDEA） in normal saline at a dose of 200 mg/kg b.dy weight followed b. weekly sub.utaneous injections of CClb.4b.（3 mL/kg/week） for 6 weeks,as the promoter of carcinogenic *** administration of the carcinogen,200 and 400 mg/kg of FIE were administered orally once a day throughout the *** the end of 20 weeks,the b.dy weight,liver weight and relative liver weight were *** percentage of nodule incidence and liver cancer markers such as aspartate transaminase（AST）,alanine transaminase（ALT）,alkaline phosphatase（ALP）,γ-glutamyl transferase（γ-GT）,total b.lirub.n level（Tb.）,α-feto protein（AFP） and carcinoemb.yonic antigen were estimated along with histopathological investigation in experimental groups of rats. Results:Ob.ained results demonstrated that the cotreatment with FIE significantly prevented the decrease of the b.dy weight and also increased in relative liver weight caused b. NDEA. The treatment with FIE significantly reduced the nodule incidence and nodule multiplicity in the rats after NDEA *** levels of liver cancer markers such as AST,ALT,ALP,γ-glutamyl transferase,Tb.,AFP and carcinoemb.yonic antigen were sub.tantially increased b. NDEA ***,FIE treatment significantly reduced the liver injury and restored the entire liver cancer *** ob.ervations of liver tissues too correlated with the b.ochemical ***:These finding powerfully supports that *** exert chemopreventive effect b. suppressing the tumor b.rden and restoring the activities of hepatic cancer marker enzymes on NDEA and CCl4-induced hepatocarcinogenesis in Wis

Single point incremental forming(SPIF)is an innovative sheet forming process with a high economic *** formab.lity in this process can b. maximized b. executing forming with a tool of specific small radius,regarded as threshold critical *** value has b.en reported as 2.2 mm for 1 mm thick sheet ***,with a change in the forming conditions specifically in the sheet thickness and step size,the critical radius is likely to alter due to a change in the b.nding *** main aim of the present study is to undertake this point into account and develop a relatively generic *** study is composed of experimental and numerical *** maximum wall angle(θmax)without sheet fracturing is regarded as sheet formab.lity.A numb.r of sheet materials are formed to fracture and the trends correlating formab.lity with normalized radius(i.e.,R/To where R is the tool-radius and To is the sheet thickness)are *** trends confirm that there is a critical tool-radius(Rc)that maximizes the formab.lity in ***,it is found that the critical radius is not fixed rather it shows dependence on the sheet thickness such that Rc=βTo,whereβvaries from 2.2 to 3.3 as the thickness increases from 1 mm to 3 *** critical radius,however,remains insensitive to variation in step size ranging from 0.3 mm to 0.7 *** is also ob.erved that the selection of tool with Rb.lity window not only on the higher side b.t also on the lower *** higher limit,as revealed b. the experimental and FEA results,diminishes due to excessive shearing b.cause of in-plane b.axial compression,and the lower limit reduces due to pillowing in the b.ttom of *** new tool-radius condition proposed herein study would b. helpful in maximizing the formab.lity of materials in SPIF without performing experimental trials.

The structural, electronic, and optical properties of b.nary ZnO, ZnSe compounds, and their ternary ZnOl_xSex alloys are computed using the accurate full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orb.tal （FP-LAPW ＋ lo） method in the rocksalt （b.1） and zincb.ende （b.） crystallographic phases. The electronic b.nd structures, fundamental energy b.nd gaps, and densities of states for ZnO1_xSex are evaluated in the range 0 〈 x 〈 1 using Wu-Cohen （WC） generalized gradient approximation （GGA） for the exchange-correlation potential. Our calculated results of lattice parameters and b.lk modulus reveal a nonlinear variation for pseudo-b.nary and their ternary alloys in b.th phases and show a considerab.e deviation from Vegard＇s law. It is ob.erved that the predicted lattice parameter and b.lk modulus are in good agreement with the availab.e experimental and theoretical data. We estab.ish that the composition dependence of b.nd gap is semi-metallic in b. phase, while a direct b.nd gap is ob.erved in b. phase. The calculated density of states is describ.d b. taking into account the contrib.tion of Zn 3d, O 2p, and Se 4s, and the optical properties are studied in terms of dielectric functions, refractive index, reflectivity, and energy loss function for the b. phase and are compared with the availab.e experimental data.

Molecular dynamics simulation employing the emb.dded atom method potential is utilized to investigate nanoscale surface diffusion mechanisms of b.nary heterogeneous adatoms clusters at 300 K, 500 K, and 700 K. Surface diffusion of heterogeneous adatoms clusters can b. vital for the b.nary island growth on the surface and can b. useful for the formation of alloy-b.sed thin film surface through atomic exchange process. The results of the diffusion process show that at 300 K, the diffusion of small adatoms clusters shows hopping, sliding, and shear motion; whereas for large adatoms clusters（hexamer and ab.ve）, the diffusion is negligib.e. At 500 K, small adatoms clusters, i.e., dimer, show almost all possib.e diffusion mechanisms including the atomic exchange process; however no such exchange is ob.erved for adatoms clusters greater than dimer. At 700 K, the exchange mechanism dominates for all types of clusters, where Zr adatoms show maximum tendency and Ag adatoms show minimum or no tendency toward the exchange process. Separation and recomb.nation of one or more adatoms are also ob.erved at 500 K and 700 K. The Ag adatoms also occupy pop-up positions over the adatoms clusters for short intervals. At 700 K, the vacancies are also generated in the vicinity of the adatoms cluster,vacancy formation, filling, and shifting can b. ob.erved from the results.

Non-occupational lead exposure and hypertension in Pakistani adults

Hypertension is one of the most prevalent diseases in the developed and developing countries. b.sed on the long historical association and the provocative findings of b.ood pressure effects at low level of lead exposure a study was carried out to determine if an association existed b.tween low b.ood lead concentration and hypertension. In this study the effects of low-level exposure to lead on b.ood pressure were examined among 244 adults using atomic ab.orption spectrometer. For quality assurance purpose certified reference materials i.e., Animal b.ood A-13, b.vine liver 1577 and cotton cellulose V-9 from IAEA （International Atomic Energy Agency） and NIST （National Institute of Standard Technology） were analyzed under identical experimental conditions. The mean age of hypertensive adults was 52 years （range 43-66）. The mean values of systolic and diastolic b.ood pressure were （209±11.7）（range 170-250） and （117±3.9）（range 105-140） mmHg respectively. b.ood lead concentration ranged from 78-201 μg/L with a mean of 139 μg/L and 165-497 μg/L with a mean of 255 μg/k in normal and hypertensive adults respectively. Increase in systolic b.ood pressure was significantly predictive with increase in b.ood lead levels. b.dy mass index （b.I） and lipid profile including total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglyceride correlated with b.ood pressure.
