recent decades have seen a concerning surge in carcinogenic diseases,with cancer cases and deaths on the rise *** diagnostic methods are often invasive and time-consuming,highlighting the need for fast,accurate,and painless ***-invasive exhaled breath analysis emerges as a promising solution,with over 200 volatile organic compounds(VOCs)detected in exhaled air,showing potential as biomarkers for various diseases,including *** the lack of standardized methodologies,advancements in analytical instruments have expanded detection capabilities,reaching 3500 *** have identified specific VOC patterns associated with different cancers,offering hope for non-invasive *** such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and electronic noses show promise in distinguishing between healthy individuals and cancer ***,further research and standardization are needed to realize the full clinical potential of breath-based diagnostics,particularly in the early detection of challenging cancers like pancreatic cancer.

Oil blending is the method of choice used worldwide to improve oxidative stability and nutritional *** is no such edible oil/fat that meets all the recommendations from the health point of *** fatty acid composition of vegetable oils decides the fate of the *** single oil is unable to provide a balanced amount of fatty acids(FAs)required/recommended on a daily intake *** oils/fats is an appropriate procedure of physically mixing multiple oils in suitable proportions which may provide functional lipids with improved antioxidant potential and desirable physical and chemical *** review piled up the accessible data on the blending of diverse oils/fats in the combination of binary,ternary,quaternary,or other types of oils into a single blended *** can be found very convincing towards appropriate FA profile,enhancement in physicochemical characteristics,and augmented stability for the period of storage or when used as cooking/frying processes which could ultimately serve as an effectual dietary intervention towards the health protectiveness.

All-optical image denoising using a diffractive visual processor

Image denoising,one of the essential inverse problems,targets to remove noise/artifacts from input *** general,digital image denoising algorithms,executed on computers,present latency due to several iterations implemented in,e.g.,graphics processing units(GPUs).While deep learning-enabled methods can operate non-iteratively,they also introduce latency and impose a significant computational burden,leading to increased power ***,we introduce an analog diffractive image denoiser to all-optically and non-iteratively clean various forms of noise and artifacts from input images–implemented at the speed of light propagation within a thin diffractive visual processor that axially spansreλis the wavelength of *** all-optical image denoiser comprises passive transmissive layers optimized using deep learning to physically scatter the optical modes that represent various noise features,causing them to miss the output image Field-of-View(FoV)while retaining the object features of *** results show that these diffractive denoisers can efficiently remove salt and pepper noise and image rendering-related spatial artifacts from input phase or intensity images while achieving an output power efficiency of~30–40%.We experimentally demonstrated the effectiveness of this analog denoiser architecture using a 3D-printed diffractive visual processor operating at the terahertz *** to their speed,power-efficiency,and minimal computational overhead,all-optical diffractive denoisers can be transformative for various image display and projection systems,including,e.g.,holographic displays.

BACKGrOUND Determination of platybasia and basilar kyphosis are significant parts of routine cranial magnetic resonance(mr)*** situations may explain a patient’s symptoms or may be associated with other *** To indicate the interobserver and intraobserver reliability of the skull base angles(SBA)(Koenigsberg standard)and modified SBA(mSBA)measurement *** In total,391 patients who had undergone cranial mr imaging were re-assessed regarding the SBA *** SBA and mSBA techniques were used on mr *** reviewers independently measured the same angles twice within a 15-day interval,using different *** correlation coefficient(ICC)was calculated to reveal the intraobserver and interobserver *** There was an excellent agreement between reviewers regarding both angle measurements(ICC was 0.998 for SBA and mSBA).Excellent agreement levels were also observed for intraobserver *** was 0.998 for SBA and 0.999 for mSBA for reviewer *** was 0.997 for SBA and 0.999 for mSBA according to the measurement results of reviewer *** SBA and mSBA values were observed for females compared to *** was no correlation between SBA and age for ***,a negative and low-level correlation was observed between mSBA values and age for both *** SBA and mSBA measurements indicated excellent agreement regarding interobserver and intraobserver *** study results showed that SBA angles were reliable measurement techniques to be used on mr images.

BACKGrOUND In cases of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),favipiravir is commonly included to the therapy *** interactions between favipiravir and other COVID-19 therapy drugs are frequently ***,no research on possible drug interactions between Favipiravir and radiocontrast agents,which have become almost crucial in diagnostic processes while not being part of the treatment,has been *** To determine potential medication interactions between Favipiravir and radiocontrast *** The study comprised patients who were taking Favipiravir for COVID-19 therapy and underwent a contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)or magnetic resonance imaging(mrI)test while taking the *** computerized patient files of the cases included in the study,as well as the pharmacovigilance forms in the designated hospital,were evaluated for this *** The study included the evaluation of data from 1046 *** study sample's mean age was 47.23±9.48 *** mean age of cases with drug interactions was statistically significant greater than that of cases with no drug interactions(P=0.003).When evaluated with logistic regression analysis,a 1-year raises in age increases the risk of developing drug interactions by 1.63 times(P=0.023).There was no statistically significant difference in the occurrence of medication interactions between the sexes(P=0.090).Possible medication interactions were discovered in 42 cases(4%).CONCLUSION The findings of this study revealed that the most notable findings as a result of the combined use of contrast agents and favipiravir were increased creatinine and transaminase values,as well as an increase in the frequency of nausea and *** majority of drug interactions discovered were modest enough that they were not reflected in the *** interactions become more common as people get older.

Performance investigation of Fe_3O_4 blended poly(vinylidene fluoride) membrane on filtration and benzyl alcohol oxidation:Evaluation of sufficiency for catalytic reactors

Fe_3O_4-PVDF membranes were prepared by blending of magnetic Fe_3O_4 powders with polyvinylidene fluoride to investigate whether those were usable or not in catalytic membrane reactors. Filtration performances and catalytic activity of membranes in microwave conditions were measured in separate processes. Composite Fe_3O_4-PVDF membranes were characterized by TG-DTA, FTIr, XrD, SEm and contact angle *** of α-phases at PVDF was observed with increasing amount of additives from XrD diffraction patterns. Decomposition of polymer fastened due to catalytic effect of Fe_3O_4. Finger-like structures and large number of small pores were observed at the SEm images. Those provided effective transportation of substrate among the active sites of catalyst. At the experiments conducted in batch reactor, 51%, 77%, 66% and 63% benzyl alcohol conversion were recorded for 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% Fe_3O_4-PVDF composite pieces respectively. Catalyst were separated magnetically and reused several times. On the other hand Fe_3O_4 blended PVDF membranes provided improved flux and BSA rejection compared with performance of bare PVDF membrane; 41.6% BSA rejection was obtained with 4% Fe_3O_4-PVDF whereas it was only 6.7% for PVDF. Fe_3O_4-PVDF composites performed high activity for the benzyl alcohol oxidation in batch reactor and also better filtration at filtration cell. These results promise to obtain practical and low cost membrane material for catalytic reactors usable in microwave support to get fast results.

Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings were carried out in silicate-based electrolyte embedded with various amounts of carbon nanotube(CNT)additives(0,0.5,1,2 and 4 g/L)on AZ80 magnesium alloy ***,tribological and electrochemical corrosion properties of the coated specimens were *** results demonstrated that the increasing CNT additions into the electrolyte resulted in a gradual increase in the thickness of PEO-coating *** CNT addition to the electrolyte by 0.5 g/L resulted in a slight decrease in the roughness of PEO-coating above which it continually *** resistance of the PEO-coated specimens showed a gradual improvement with increasing CNT-incorporation within the *** electrochemical corrosion tests revealed that the best corrosion resistance was found after the CNT addition into the electrolyte by 0.5 g/L due to the better roughness values,more homogenous coating layers and less pore formation.

Fe/HNT(Iron/Halloysite-nanotube) heterogeneous semiconductor catalysts operating effectively under visible light were developed by using FeCl3, FeSO4and Fe(OH)3sludge precipitated after electro-Fenton process and named as Fe/HNT-I, Fe/HNT-II and Fe/HNT-III, respectively. Chemical configuration and particle morphology of the catalysts were characterized with XrD, SEm-EDS and UV–vis DrS. Effect of the developed Fe/HNT photocatalysts was investigated for the degradation of reactive Orange 16(rO16) textile dye under visible light. The photocatalytic decolorization of rO16 was 95.6%, 99.3% and 96.6%, respectively. It was found that the photocatalytic performance of Fe/HNT-III catalyst under visible light was effective compared to Fe/HNT-I and Fe/HNTII. The iron ratio in the catalyst’s structure(Fe:HNT ratio 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75(w/w)) and p H value(4, 7 and 9) in production phase were also changed to investigate the photocatalytic effect of Fe/HNT-III. An Fe:HNT ratio of 0.25 and a p H of 4 were determined as the optimum conditions for catalyst production. Optimum H2O2dosage value was also investigated for photocatalytic oxidation process and determined to be 10 m m. Finally, the optimum conditions were further used for the degradation of Terbinafine hydrochloride(Ter HCl) active drug and the treatment of wastewater from the textile and pharmaceutical industries.
