Effect of posterior condylar offset on clinical results after posterior-stabilized total knee arthroplasty

Purpose： To determine the effect of the posterior condylar offset （PCO） on clinical results after total knee arthroplasty （TKA） using a high-flex posterior-stabilized （PS） fixed-bearing prosthesis. Methods： We prospectively studied the clinical and radiographic materials of 89 consecutive female patients （89 knees）, who had undergone primary TKAs for end-stage osteoarthritis. All operations were performed by a single senior surgeon or under his supervision using the same operative technique. Based on the corrected PCO change, we divided all cases into two groups： group A （corrected PCO change _〉0 mm, 58 knees） and group B （corrected PCO change 〈0 ram, 31 knees）. One-year postoperatively, clinical and radiographic variables from the two groups were compared by independent t-test. The as- sociations between the corrected PCO changes and the improvements of clinical variables in all patients were analyzed by Pearson linear correlation. Results： One-year postoperatively, the Knee Society Scores, the Western Ontario and McMaster Uni- versities Osteoarthritis Index, non-weight-bearing active and passive range of knee flexion, flexion contracture, extensor lag, and their improvements had no statistical differences between the two groups （all p 〉 0.05）. The corrected PCO change was not significantly correlated with the improvement of any clinical variable （all p 〉 0.05）. Group A demonstrated greater flexion than group B during active weight bearing （p 〈 0.05）. Conclusions： Restoration of PCO plays an important role in the optimization of active knee flexion during weight-bearing conditions after posterior-stabilized TKA, while it has no benefit to non-weight-bearing knee flexion or any other clinical result.

Iron deficiency anemia （IDA） is one of the most important nutrition issues in China. Data from the 2002 National Nutrition and Health Survey showed that the average anemia prevalence in China was 20.1% and the prevalence in women of child-bearing age and of children in some poor regions reached more than 50%; it has been estimated that more than 200 million Chinese people are suffering from anemia. Anemia significantly affects physical and mental development in children, decreases productivity in adults, and reduces immune function among the population at large, which leads to a lower health status and limits social development.

The muonic component of the extensive air showers (EAS) is of great importance for the astroparticle physics. It carries the information about the properties of primary cosmic ray (CR) particles, such as their mass, and electromagnetic and hadronic nature. It provides a sensitive test for the hadronic interaction models, which are inevitable for describing the cascade shower development of cosmic rays in EAS experiments. The YangBaJing Hybrid Array (YBJ-HA) experiment has been in operation since the end of 2016. Surface detectors are used for the measurements of primary energy, angular direction and core position of a shower event, while underground muon detectors are used for measuring the density of muons at various locations. Using the data obtained by the YBJ-HA experiment,this work reports the first measurement of the lateral muon distribution for the primary cosmic ray energy in the 100TeV region. The punch-through effect is evaluated via MC simulation.

The High Altitude Detection of Astronomical Radiation(HADAR)experiment,which was constructed in Tibet,China,combines the wide-angle advantages of traditional EAS array detectors with the high-sensitivity advantages of focused Cherenkov *** objective is to observe transient sources such as gamma-ray bursts and the counterparts of gravitational *** study aims to utilize the latest AI technology to enhance the sensitivity of HADAR *** datasets and models with distinctive creativity were constructed by incorporating the relevant physical theories for various *** models can determine the type,energy,and direction of the incident particles after careful *** obtained a background identification accuracy of 98.6%,a relative energy reconstruction error of 10.0%,and an angular resolution of 0.22°in a test dataset at 10 *** findings demonstrate the significant potential for enhancing the precision and dependability of detector data analysis in astrophysical *** using deep learning techniques,the HADAR experiment’s observational sensitivity to the Crab Nebula has surpassed that of MAGIC and *** energies below 0.5 TeV and remains competitive with conventional narrow-field Cherenkov telescopes at higher *** addition,our experiment offers a new approach for dealing with strongly connected,scattered data.

The Moon provides a unique environment for investigating nearby astrophysical events such as *** samples retain valuable information from these events,via detectable long-lived“fingerprint”radionuclides such as^(60)*** this work,we stepped up the development of an accelerator mass spectrometry(AMS)method for detecting^(60)Fe using the HI-13tandem accelerator at the China Institute of Atomic Energy(CIAE).Since interferences could not be sufficiently removed solely with the existing magnetic systems of the tandem accelerator and the following Q3D magnetic spectrograph,a Wien filter with a maximum voltage of±60 kV and a maximum magnetic field of 0.3 T was installed after the accelerator magnetic systems to lower the detection background for the low abundance nuclide^(60)Fe.A 1μm thick Si_(3)N_(4) foil was installed in front of the Q3D as an energy *** particle detection,a multi-anode gas ionization chamber was mounted at the center of the focal plane of the ***,an^(60)Fe sample with an abundance of 1.125×10^(-10)was used to test the new AMS *** results indicate that^(60)Fe can be clearly distinguished from the isobar^(60)*** sensitivity was assessed to be better than 4.3×10^(-14)based on blank sample measurements lasting 5.8 h,and the sensitivity could,in principle,be expected to be approximately 2.5×10^(-15)when the data were accumulated for 100 h,which is feasible for future lunar sample measurements because the main contaminants were sufficiently separated.

Preparation and electro-catalytic activity of nanoporous palladium by dealloying rapidly-quenched Al_(70)Pd_(17)Fe_(13) quasicrystalline alloy

The formation of nanoporous Pd was studied by electro-chemical dealloying a rapidly-quenched Al70Pd17Fe13 quasicrystal alloy in dilute NaCl aqueous solution,and the electro-catalytic activity of the nanoporous Pd towards methanol electro-oxidation was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry in 1 mol/L KOH *** and TEM analyses revealed that nano-decomposition of quasicrystal grains occurred in the initial stage of dealloying,and the fully dealloyed sample was composed of FCC-Pd *** electron microscopy observation indicated that a maze-like nanoporous pattern was formed in the dealloyed sample,consisting of percolated pores of 5.20 nm in diameter in a skeleton of randomly-orientated Pd nano-ligaments with a uniform thickness of^5 nm.A retention of^12 at.%Al in the Pd nano-ligments was determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS).The nanoporous Pd demonstrated obvious electro-catalytic activity towards methanol electro-oxidation in alkaline environment.

Effect of three-step homogenization on microstructure and properties of 7N01 aluminum alloys

The effect of different homogenization treatments on the microstructure and properties of the 7N01 aluminum alloy was investigated using hardness measurements, electrical conductivity measurements, tensile and slow strain rate tests, electron probe microanalysis, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The results revealed that three-step homogenization improved the uniformity of Zr distribution by eliminating segregation of the main alloying elements. During the second homogenization step at 350 °C for 10 h, coarse and strip-like equilibrium η phases formed which assisted the nucleation of Al3Zr dispersoids and reduced the width of the precipitate-free zone of A13Zr dispersoids. As a result, coarse recrystallization was greatly reduced after homogenization at 200 °C, 2 h ＋ 350 °C, 10 h ＋ 470 °C, 12 h, which contributed to improving the overall properties of the 7N01 aluminum alloys.

Over-expressing root-specific β-amyrin synthase gene increases glycyrrhizic acid content in hairy roots of glycyrrhiza uralensis

Objsective: Glycyrrhizia uralensis, one of the most widely-used traditional Chinese medicines, is mainly cropped in China. However, many cultivars are less in glycyrrhizic acid than Chinese Pharmacopoeia requires. In this paper, we improved glycyrrhizic acid by regulating β-amyrin synthase gene(GuBAS).Methods: Tobacco root-specific promoter TobRB7 and Gu BAS c DNA were obtained and combined with linearized pCAMBIA1305.1 to construct root-specific plant expression vector which was later transformed into Agrobacterium rhizogenes ACCC10060 by electrotransformation. The cotyledons and hypocotyls of *** were infected by the recombinant A. rhizogenes ACCC10060 to induce hairy roots. The GA content was quantified by ***: The PCR and sequencing results both showed that three transgenic hairy root lines were obtained. The copy number of Gu BAS in these transgenic hairy roots was intended by q RT-PCR to be 3, 7,and 4. GA was detected by HPLC, and the results showed that GA was present in the three transgenic hairy roots, while absent in wild hairy ***: Over-expressing Gu BAS root-specifically in hairy roots of G. uralensis enhanced GA accumulation.

The vagina contains at least a billion microbial cells,dominated by *** we perform metagenomic shotgun sequencing on cervical and fecal samples from a cohort of 516 Chinese women of reproductive age,as well as cervical,fecal,and salivary samples from a second cohort of 632 *** such as pregnancy history,delivery history,cesarean section,and breastfeeding were all more important than menstrual cycle in shaping the microbiome,and such information would be necessary before trying to interpret differences between vagino-cervical microbiome *** proportion of Bifidobacterium breve was seen with older age at sexual *** relative abundance of lactobacilli especially Lactobacillus crispatus was negatively associated with pregnancy *** markers for lack of menstrual regularity,heavy flow,dysmenorrhea,and contraceptives were also *** were rare during breastfeeding or *** features such as mood fluctuations and facial speckles could potentially be predicted from the vagino-cervical *** and salivary microbiomes,plasma vitamins,metals,amino acids,and hormones showed associations with the vagino-cervical *** results offer an unprecedented glimpse into the microbiota of the female reproductive tract and call for international collaborations to better understand its long-term health impact other than in the settings of infection or pre-term birth.
