Experimental and Numerical Investigations of Shock-Wave Boundary Layer Interactions in a Highly Loaded Transonic Compressor Cascade

Experimental and numerical investigations were conducted to investigate the variations of shock-wave boundary layer interaction(SBLI) phenomena in a highly loaded transonic compressor cascade with Mach *** schlieren technique was used to observe the shock structure in the cascade and the pressure tap method to measure the pressure distribution on the blade *** unsteady pressure distribution on blade surface was measured with the fast-response pressure-sensitive paint(PSP) technique to obtain the unsteady pressure distribution on the whole blade surface and to capture the shock oscillation characteristics caused by *** addition,the Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes simulations were used to compute the three-dimensional steady flow field in the transonic *** was found that the shock wave patterns and behaviors are affected evidently with the increase in incoming Mach number at the design flow angle,especially with the presence of the separation bubble caused by *** time-averaged pressure distribution on the blade surface measured by PSP technique showed a symmetric pressure filed at Mach numbers of 0.85,while the pressure field on the blade surface was an asymmetric one at Mach numbers of 0.90 and *** oscillation of the shock wave was closely with the flow separation bubble on the blade surface and could transverse over nearly one interval of the pressure *** oscillation of the shock wave may smear the pressure jump phenomenon measured by the pressure taps.

Inspired by the structure and principles of the human brain,spike neural networks(SNNs)appear as the latest generation of artificial neural networks,attracting significant and universal attention due to their remarkable low-energy transmission by pulse and powerful capability for large-scale parallel *** research on artificial neural networks gradually change from software simulation into hardware ***,such a process is fraught with *** particular,memristors are highly anticipated hardware candidates owing to their fastprogramming speed,low power consumption,and compatibility with the complementary metal–oxide semiconductor(CMOS)*** this review,we start from the basic principles of SNNs,and then introduced memristor-based technologies for hardware implementation of SNNs,and further discuss the feasibility of integrating customized algorithm optimization to promote efficient and energy-saving SNN hardware ***,based on the existing memristor technology,we summarize the current problems and challenges in this field.

In this paper,we consider the B?hmer–Vandersloot(BV)model of loop quantum black holes obtained from the improved dynamics *** adopt the Saini–Singh gauge,in which it was found analytically that the BV spacetime is geodesically *** show that black/white hole horizons do not exist in this geodesically complete ***,there exists only an infinite number of transition surfaces,which always separate trapped regions from anti-trapped *** on the improved dynamics approach adopted in other models of loop quantum black holes are also given.

Capturing and visualizing the phase transition mediated thermal stress of thermal barrier coating materials via a cross-scale integrated computational approach

The generation and evaluation of severely high thermal stress(σ)is known to be responsible for failure of thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)during thermal *** is crucial and challenging to capture fluctuations inσcaused by the phase transition,which has motivated us to develop a high-throughput multiscale evaluation method forσin TBCs that considers the phase transition of the top ceramic materials by coupling first-principles calculations with finite element *** method quantitatively evaluates and visualizesσof the real TBC structure under thermal cycling by multifield ***,the thermophysical properties calculated by the first-principles calculations consider the effects of temperature and phase transition,which not only reduces the cost of obtaining data but also has a more physical *** this work,rare earth tantalites(RETaO_(4))are introduced as ceramic layers,and the results demonstrate thatσundergoes a rapid escalation near the phase transition temperature(T_(t)),particularly in the TBCs_GdTaO_(4) system,where it rises from 224 to 435 *** discontinuity inσmay originate from the significant alterations in Young’s modulus(increase by 27%–78%)and thermal conductivity(increase by 53%–146%)near T_(t).The TBCs_NdTaO_(4) and TBCs_SmTaO_(4) systems exhibit noteworthy temperature drop gradients and minimalσfluctuations,which are beneficial for extending service lifetime of *** approach facilitates the prediction of failure mechanisms and provides theoretical guidance for the reverse design of TBC materials to obtain low thermal stress systems.

Cage-confinement synthesis of MoC nanoclusers as efficient sulfiphilic and lithiophilic regulator for superior Li–S batteries

High-energy-density Li-S batteries are subjected to serious sulfur deactivation and short cycle lifetime caused by undesirable polysulfide shuttle effect and frantic lithium dendrite *** this work,a controllable cage-confinement strategy to fabricate molybdenum carbide(MoC)nanoclusters as a high-efficient sulfiphilic and lithiophilic regulator to mitigate the formidable issues of Li-S batteries is *** sub-2 nm MoC nanoclusters not only guarantee robust chemisorption and fast electrocatalytic conversion of polysulfides to enhance the sulfur electrochemistry,but also homogenize Li^(+) flux to suppress the lithium dendrite *** a consequence,the MoC-modified separator endows the batteries with boosted reaction kinetics,promoted sulfur utilization,and improved cycling stability.A reversible capacity of 701 mAh·g^(−1) at a high rate of 5.0C and a small decay rate of 0.076%per cycle at 1.0C over 600 cycles are *** study offers a rational route for design and synthesis of bifunctional nanoclusers with both sulfiphilicity and lithiophilicity for high-performance Li-S batteries.

Elaborating strengthen mechanism of Pt-Ir solid solution superalloy at finite temperature

Pt-Ir alloy is potential superalloys used above 1300℃because of their high strength and creep ***,the ductility of Pt-Ir alloy has rapidly deteriorated with the increase of Ir,resulting in poor *** work quantitatively evaluated the solid solution strengthening(SSS)and grain refinement strengthening(GRS)of Pt-Ir alloy using first-principles calculations combined with experimental ***,the stretching force constants in the second nearest neighbor region(SFC^(2nd))of pure Ir(193.7 eV·nm^(-2))are 3.40 times that of pure Pt(57.0 eV·nm^(-2)),i.e.,the interatomic interaction is greatly enhanced with the increase of Ir content,which leads to the decrease of ductility,and modulus misfit plays a dominant role in ***,the physical mechanisms responsible for the hardness(H_(V))of Pt-Ir alloy,using the power-law-scaled function of electron work function coupled SSS and GRS,are attributed to the electron redistribution caused by different Ir ***,a thorough assessment of the thermodynamic characteristics of Pt-Ir binary alloy was conducted,culminating in development of a mapping model that effectively relates enmposition,temperature and *** results revealed that the compressive strength incrcases with the Ir content,and the highest strength was observed in Pt_(0.25)Ir_(0.75).This study provides valuable insights into the Pt-Ir alloy system.

BACKGROUND Testicular torsion is the most common acute scrotum worldwide and mainly occurs in children and *** have demonstrated that the duration of symptoms and torsion grade lead to different outcomes in children diagnosed with testicular *** To predict the possibility of testicular salvage(TS)in patients with testicular torsion in a tertiary *** We reviewed the charts of 75 pediatric patients with acute testicular torsion during a 12-year period from November 2011 to July 2023 at the Suzhou Hospital of Anhui Medical *** and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to determine independent predictors of testicular *** data included clinical findings,physical examinations,laboratory data,color Doppler ultrasound findings,operating results,age,presenting institution status,and follow-up *** Our study included 75 *** was possible in 57.3%of all patients;testicular torsion occurred mostly in winter,and teenagers aged 11-15 years old accounted for 60%.Univariate logistic regression analyses revealed that younger age(P=0.09),body mass index(P=0.004),torsion angle(P=0.013),red blood cell count(P=0.03),neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(P=0.009),and initial presenting institution(P<0.001)were associated with *** multivariate analysis,only the initial presenting institution predicted TS(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The initial presenting institution has a predictive value for predicting TS in patients with testicular *** with scrotal pain should be admitted to a tertiary hospital as soon as possible.

Control of gan inverted pyramids growth on c-plane patterned sapphire substrates

Growth of gallium nitride(gan)inverted pyramids on c-plane sapphire substrates is benefit for fabricating novel devices as it forms the semipolar *** this work,gan inverted pyramids are directly grown on c-plane patterned sapphire substrates(PSS)by metal organic vapor phase epitaxy(MOVPE).The influences of growth conditions on the surface morphol-ogy are experimentally studied and explained by Wulff *** competition of growth rate among{0001},{1011},and{1122}facets results in the various surface morphologies of gan.A higher growth temperature of 985 ℃ and a lowerⅤ/Ⅲratio of 25 can expand the area of{}facets in gan inverted *** the other hand,gan inverted pyramids with almost pure{}facets are obtained by using a lower growth temperature of 930℃,a higherⅤ/Ⅲratio of 100,and PSS with pattern arrangement perpendicular to the substrate primary flat.
