Investigation on cavitating turbulent flow for the twisted NACA66 hydrofoil using a PANS model with helicity modification

In the present paper,the unsteady cavitating turbulent flow over the twisted NACA66 hydrofoil is investigated based on an modified shear stress transfer k-ωpartially averaged Navier-Stokes(MSST PANS)model,i.e.,new MSST PANS(NMSST PANS)model,where the production term of kinetic energy in the turbulence model is modified with *** with the experimental data,cavitation evolution and its characteristic frequency are satisfactorily predicted by the proposed NMSST PANS *** is revealed that the interaction among the main flow,the reentrant jets,and sheet cavitation causes the formation of the primary shedding cavity near the mid-span and the secondary shedding cavity at each side of the twisted hydrofoil,and further induces the remarkable pressure gradient around shedding *** with the development of the primary and the secondary shedding cavities,the great pressure gradient associated with large cavity volume variation promotes the vortical flow generation and the spatial deformation of vortex structure during cavitation evolution,and results in the primary and the secondary U-type ***,dynamic mode decomposition(DMD)analysis is utilized to confirm the interaction among the main flow,the main reentrant jet and two side reentrant jets,and *** results indicate that the proposed NMSST PANS model is suitable to simulate the complicated cavitating turbulent flow for various engineering applications.

Effect of Y_(2)O_(3) on microstructure and properties of CoCrFeNiTiNb high entropy alloy coating on Ti-6Al-4V surface by laser cladding

The effects of Y_(2)O_(3) on the microstructure, microhardness, wear resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, hot corrosion resistance, and electrochemical corrosion behaviour of CoCrFeNiTiNb high entropy alloy coatings formed on Ti-6Al-4V alloy surfaces were studied. The results show that the addition of Y_(2)O_(3) changes the proportion of the phase but does not change its type. The average grain size is only 1/4.7 of that of the high entropy alloy(HEA) coating, and the fine-grained strengthening leads to increases in the microhardness and wear resistance of 21.8% and 26.9%, respectively. The addition of Y_(2)O_(3) enhances the denseness and bonding properties of the oxide and corrosion product layers, reducing the oxidation and hot corrosion rates by 60.3% and 40.3%, respectively. The addition of Y_(2)O_(3) doubles the corrosion resistance which is attributed to the refinement of the grains, the increased proportion of HCP and TiN, and the weakening of galvanic coupling corrosion.

Study on cumulative effects of biological craniocerebral trauma under repeated blast

Spatial-temporal differentiation and influencing factors of rural settlements in mountainous areas: an example of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Southwestern China

Rural settlement is the basic spatial unit for compact communities in rural area. Scientific exploration of spatial-temporal differentiation and its influencing factors is the premise of spatial layout rationalization. Based on land use data of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture(hereinafter referred to as Liangshan Prefecture) in Sichuan Province, China from 1980 to 2020, compactness index, fractal dimension, imbalance index, location entropy and the optimal parameters-based geographical detector(OPGD) model are used to analyze the spatial-temporal evolution of the morphological characteristics of rural settlements, and to explore the influence of natural geographical factors, socioeconomic factors, and policy factors on the spatial differentiation of rural settlements. The results show that:(1) From 1980 to 2020, the rural settlements area in Liangshan Prefecture increased by 15.96 km^(2). In space, the rural settlements are generally distributed in a local aggregation, dense in the middle and sparse around the periphery. In 2015, the spatial density and expansion index of rural settlements reached the peak.(2) From 1980 to 2020, the compactness index decreased from 0.7636 to 0.7496, the fractal dimension increased from 1.0283 to 1.0314, and the fragmentation index decreased from 0.1183 to 0.1047. The spatial morphological structure of rural settlements tended to be loose, the shape contour tended to be complex, the degree of fragmentation decreased, and the spatial distribution was significantly imbalanced.(3) The results of OPGD detection in 2015 show that the influence of each factor is slope(0.2371) > traffic accessibility(0.2098) > population(0.1403) > regional GDP(0.1325) > elevation(0.0987) > poverty alleviation(0). The results of OPGD detection in 2020 show that the influence of each factor is slope(0.2339) > traffic accessibility(0.2198) > population(0.1432) > regional GDP(0.1219) > poverty alleviation(0.0992) > elevation(0.093). Failure mechanism and safety control technology of a composite strata roadway in deep and soft rock masses:a case study

The construction of coal mines often encounters deep composite soft rock roadways,which is characterized by significant deformation and poor *** deeply study the failure mechanism and large deformation challenges of a composite strata roadway in deep and soft rock masses,a numerical model of 3DEC tetrahedral blocks was established based on the method of rock quality designation(RQD).The results showed that original support cannot prevent asymmetric failure and large deformation due to the adverse geological environment and unsuitable support *** to the failure characteristics,a coupling support of“NPR bolt/cable+mesh+shotcrete+steel pipe”was proposed to control the stability of the surrounding *** excellent mechanical properties of large deformation(approximately 400 mm)and high constant resistance force(bolt with 180 k N;cable with 350 k N)were evaluated by the tensile *** numerical results showed that the maximum deformation was minimized to 243 mm,and the bearing capacity of the surrounding rock of the roadway was *** field test results showed that the maximum deformation of the surrounding rock was 210 mm,and the forces of the NPR bolt and cable were stable at approximately 180 k N and 350 k N,*** demonstrated the effectiveness of the coupling support with the NPR bolt and cable,which could be a guiding significance for the safety control of large deformation and failure in deep composite soft rock roadways.

Stromal thrombospondin 1 suppresses angiogenesis in oral submucous fibrosis

A decline in mucosal vascularity is a histological hallmark of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF), a premalignant disease that is largely induced by betel quid chewing. However, the lack of available models has challenged studies of angiogenesis in OSF. Here, we found that the expression of thrombospondin 1 (THBS1), an endogenous angiostatic protein, was elevated in the stroma of tissues with OSF. Using a fibroblast-attached organoid (FAO) model, the overexpression of THBS1 in OSF was stably recapitulated in vitro. In the FAO model,treatment with arecoline, a major pathogenic component in areca nuts, enhanced the secretion of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 by epithelial cells, which then promoted the expression of THBS1 in fibroblasts. Furthermore, human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs)were incorporated into the FAO to mimic the vascularized component. Overexpression of THBS1 in fibroblasts drastically suppressed the sprouting ability of endothelial cells in vascularized FAOs (v FAOs). Consistently, treatment with arecoline reduced the expression of CD31in v FAOs, and this effect was attenuated when the endothelial cells were preincubated with neutralizing antibody of CD36, a receptor of THBS1. Finally, in an arecoline-induced rat OSF model, THBS1 inhibition alleviated collagen deposition and the decline in vascularity in vivo. Overall, we exploited an assembled organoid model to study OSF pathogenesis and provide a rationale for targeting THBS1.

Identification of Motor Nuclei in the Medulla Oblongata of Carp for Biological Control

Brain-controlled technology is the key technology in biological control,and the corresponding relationship between animal brain nuclei and motor behavior is the *** purpose of this study was to explore the motor nuclei of the medulla oblongata in *** carps were subjected to electrical stimulation and chemical stimulation experiments,respectively,in the water-free state,and the effective chemical stimulation sites were injected with the pontamine sky blue *** brain tissue sections were obtained by paraffin tissue section technology and the neutral red staining *** comparing the positions of the brain nuclei shown in earlier studies,the motor nerve nuclei in the medulla oblongata were *** brain electrode was implanted into the motor nucleus of the medulla oblongata,and the underwater control experiment and behavioral tests were carried out with different electrical stimulation *** results showed that the abducens nucleus(NVI)was the motor nucleus that controls the ipsilateral steering,and the facial nucleus(NVII)was the motor nucleus that controls the forward *** adjusting the stimulation voltage and the stimulation pulse number,the carp can be stably controlled to achieve a left–right steering motion of 30°–180°and a forward motion of more than 80 cm/*** study indicated that the quantitative control of the steering and forward behavior of the carp can be achieved by electrical stimulation of the NVI and NVII,which provided a certain experimental basis for the accurate control of the carp robot.
