Based on the Euler equation, the hybrid Roe/HLL scheme is employed to simulate the oblique detonation waves （ODWs）. Furthermore, ***）＇namic （MHD） control of both stable and unstable ODWs is investigated. It is shown that the stable ODW wave front can be controlled to the desired position under different inflow Mach numbers. However, for an unstable ODW, it is difficult for the MHD control to return the ODW front, but the unstable ODW turns to be stable with the Lorentz force applied in proper direction.

BACKGROUND Extraskeletal Ewing sarcoma(EES)is a member of the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors which is pathologically known as a small,round,blue cell tumor involving bone and soft *** prevalence of EES is only 15%-25%of all Ewing sarcoma and EES often occurs in patients aged from 20-mo-old to 30-yearsold resulting in an unfavorable *** SUMMARY The present case report described a 7-year-old patient with a palpable EES mass of 33 mm×27 mm×28 mm in the deep neck with symptoms of persistent dyspnea over the past 5 *** laboratory examinations,abnormal physiological and biochemical indicators were not *** images presented the mass to be complex,solid and fluid-filled with circumscribed margins and posterior acoustic *** mass also presented with partial internal *** contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging scan illustrated the outstanding enhancement with fast perfusion mode in the early arterial phase. CONCLUSIONOur study suggested that a quick-growing mass in the pediatric patient is possibly a malignanttumor whether the mass has well-defined margins or not.

The measurement method and quantitative indexes of iron ore consolidation characteristic temperature(CCT)during roasting,including consolidation starting temperature,highest consolidation rate temperature,and consolidation termination temperature,were improved based on previous *** mineral properties of V-Ti magnetite(Panzhihua)were analyzed,and the CCT of V-Ti magnetite was *** investigate the effect of mineral types on CCT,a series of trials were carried out by using various ores,including high-grade magnetite ore,high silicon iron ore,and V-Ti magnetite *** greatest shrinkage of V-Ti magnetite was 6.7%,the consolidation starting temperature was 991℃,and the termination temperature was 1384℃.The results of X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the V-Ti magnetite ore was composed of titanomagnetite,peridotite,and other minerals,which is more complicated than conventional *** a result,the temperature at the maximum rate of consolidation and the temperature at the termination of consolidation are the ***_(3) and MgFe_(2)O_(4) in V-Ti magnetite may inhibit the creation of sinter necks between hematite *** phase occurs inside the pellet when the temperature surpasses 1250℃,which may accelerate particle growth and the formation of a sintering neck within the pellets.

AIM: To demonstrate the oncologic outcomes of low rectal cancer and to clarify the risk factors for survival, focusing particularly on the type of surgery performed. METHODS: Data from patients with low rectal carcinomas who underwent surgery, either sphincter-preserving surgery (SPS) or abdominoperineal resection (APR), at The First Aff iliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in China from August 1994 to December 2005 were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: Of 331 patients with low rectal cancer, 159 (48.0%) were treated with SPS. A higher incidence of positive resection margins and a higher 5-year cumulative local recurrence rate (14.7% vs 6.8%, P = 0.041) were observed in patients after APR compared to *** five-year overall survival (OS) was 54.6% after APR and 66.8% after SPS (P = 0.018), and the 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) was 52.9% after APR and 65.5% after SPS (P = 0.013). In multivariate analysis, poor OS and DFS were signif icantly related to positive resection margins, pT3-4, and pTNM Ⅲ-Ⅳ but not to the type of surgery. CONCLUSION: Despite a higher rate of positive resection margins after APR, the type of surgery was not identif ied as an independent risk factor for survival.

In this paper, we study the existence of nontrivial solutions for the following Dirichlet problem for the p-Laplacian (p > 1):where Ω is a bounded domain in Rn (A≥1) and f(x,u) is quasi-asymptotically linear with respect to |u|p-2 u at infinity. Recently it was proved that the above problem has a positive solution under the condition that f(x, s)/sp-1 is nondecrcasing with respect to s for all x ∈Ω and some others. In this paper. by improving the methods in the literature, we prove that the functional corresponding to the above problem still satisfies a weakened version of (P.S.) condition even if f(x, s)/sp-1 isn't a nondecreasing function with respect to s, and then the above problem has a nontrivial weak solution by Mountain Pass Theorem.

rarely has a solitary, metachronous bilateral adrenal metastasis of colorectal cancer been reported. We depict a 41-year-old man who underwent sigmoid colon cancer radical surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy for alocally ulcerative sigmoid adenocarcinoma with metachronous bilateral adrenal metastasis revealed by a computed tomography scan. histopathological examination showed adenocarcinoma, compatible with metastasis from the rectal cancer. the level of serum carcinoembryonic antigen had indicative significance for the presence of adrenal metastasis in the reported series. We performed a literature analysis related to this pathological characteristic and attach importance to consistent, vigilant radiological surveillance of the adrenal glands in the patients' follow up for colorectal cancer with or without subsequent adrenal metastasis.

We report the production and characterization of somatic hybrids between Triticum aestivum L. and Agropyron elongatum (Host) Nevishi (the synonym is Thinopyrum ponticum). Asymmetric protoplast fusion was performed between Agropyron elongatum protoplasts irradiated with a low UV dose and protoplasts of wheat taken from nonregenerable suspension cultures. More than 40 green plantlets were obtained from 15 regenerated clones and one of them produced seeds. The phenotypes of the hybrid plants and seeds were intermediate between wheat and Agropyron eIongatum. All of the regenerated calli and plants were verified as intergeneric hybrids on the basis of morphological observation and analysis of isozyme, cytological, 5SrDNA spacer sequences and random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). RFLP analysis of the mitochondrial genome revealed evidence of random segregation and recombination of mtDNA.
