The role of the vascularized bone marrow component as a continuous source of donor-derived hematopoietic stem cells that facilitate tolerance induction of vascularized composite allografts is not completely *** this study,vascularized composite tissue allograft transplantation outcomes between recipients receiving either conventional bone marrow transplantation(CBMT)or vascularized bone marrow(VBM)transplantation from Balb/c(H2d)to C57BL/6(H2b)mice were *** high-or low-dose CBMT(1.5×10^(8)or 3×10^(7)bone marrow cells,respectively)was *** addition,recipients were treated with costimulation blockade(1 mg anti-CD154 and 0.5 mg CTLA4Ig on postoperative days 0 and 2,respectively)and short-term rapamycin(3 mg/kg/day for the first posttransplant week and then every other day for another 3 weeks).Similar to high-dose conventional bone marrow transplantation,5/6 animals in the vascularized bone marrow group demonstrated long-term allograft survival(>120 days).In contrast,significantly shorter median survival was noted in the low-dose CBMT group(~64 days).Consistently high chimerism levels were observed in the VBM transplantation ***,low levels of circulating CD4^(+)and CD8^(+)T cells and a higher ratio of Treg to Teff cells were maintained in VBM transplantation and high-dose CBMT recipients(>30 days)but not in low-dose VBM transplant ***-specific hyporesponsiveness was shown in tolerant recipients in *** of the vascularized bone marrow component after secondary donor-specific skin transplantation did not affect either primary allograft or secondary skin graft survival.

Study on the off situ reconstruction of the core neutron field based on dual-task hybrid network architecture

The off situ accurate reconstruction of the core neutron field is an important step in realizing real-time reactor *** existing off situ reconstruction method of the neutron field is only applicable to cases wherein a single region changes at a specified location of the ***,when the neutron field changes are complex,the accurate identification of the individual changed regions becomes challenging,which seriously affects the accuracy and stability of the neutron field ***,this study proposed a dual-task hybrid network architecture(DTHNet)for off situ reconstruction of the core neutron field,which trained the outermost assembly reconstruction task and the core reconstruction task jointly such that the former could assist the latter in the reconstruction of the core neutron field under core complex ***,to exploit the characteristics of the ex-core detection signals,this study designed a global-local feature upsampling module that efficiently distributed the ex-core detection signals to each reconstruction unit to improve the accuracy and stability of *** experiments were performed on the simulation datasets of the CLEAR-I reactor to verify the accuracy and stability of the proposed *** results showed that when the location uncertainty of a single region did not exceed nine and the number of multiple changed regions did not exceed ***,the reconstructed ARD was within 2%,RD_(max)was maintained within 17.5%,and the number of RD≥10%was maintained within ***,when the noise interference of the ex-core detection signals was within±2%,although the average number of RD≥10%increased to 16,the average ARD was still within in 2%,and the average RD_(max)was within 22%.Collectively,these results show that,theoretically,the DTHNet can accurately and stably reconstruct most of the neutron field under certain complex core changes.

Clinical analysis of multiple primary malignancies in the digestive system: A hospital-based study

AIM： To analyze the characteristics of multiple primary malignancies （MPMs） of digestive system; including incidence, types of tumor combinations, time intervals between development of multiple tumors, clinical course,and prognostic factors affecting survival and ***： Data from a total of 129 patients treated from January 1991 to December 2000 for pathologically proved MPMs, including at least one originating from the digestive system, were reviewed ***： Among 129 patients, 120 （93.02%） had two primary cancers and 9 （6.98%） had three primary cancers. The major sites of MPMs of the digestive system were large intestine, stomach, and liver. Associated nondigestive cancers included 40 cases of gynecological cancers, of which 31 were carcinoma of cervix and 10 cases of genitourinary cancers, of which 5 were bladder cancers. Other cancers originated from the lung, breast,nasopharynx, larynx, thyroid, brain, muscle, and *** tract cancers, especially cervical, ovarian,bladder, and prostate cancers were the most commonlyassociated non-G! cancers, followed by cancer of the lung and breasts. Forty-three cases were synchronous, while the rest （86 cases） were metachronous cancers. Staging of MPMs and treatment regimes correlated with the prognosis between survival and non-survival ***： As advances in cancer therapy bring about a progressively larger percentage of long-term survivors, the proportion of patients with subsequent primary lesions will increase. Early diagnosis of these lesions, based on an awareness of the possibility of second and third cancers, and multidiscipiinary treatment strategies will substantially increase the survival of these patients.

Moment Redistribution Effect of the Continuous Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer-Concrete Composite Slabs Based on Static Loading Experiment

This study aimed to investigate the moment redistribution in continuous glass fiber reinforced polymer(GFRP)-concrete composite slabs caused by concrete cracking and steel bar yielding in the negative bending moment *** experimental bending moment redistribution test was conducted on continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs,and a calculation method based on the conjugate beam method was *** composite slabs were formed by combining GFRP profiles with a concrete layer and supported on steel beams to create two-span continuous composite slab *** methods,epoxy resin bonding,and stud connection,were used to connect the composite slabs with the steel *** experimental findings showed that the specimen connected with epoxy resin exhibited two moments redistribution phenomena during the loading process:concrete cracking and steel bar yielding at the internal *** contrast,the composite slab connected with steel beams by studs exhibited only one-moment redistribution phenomenon throughout the loading *** the concrete at the internal support cracked,the bending moment decreased in the internal support section and increased in the midspan *** the steel bars yielded,the bending moment further decreased in the internal support section and increased in the mid-span *** GFRP profiles do not experience cracking,there was no significant decrease in the bending moment of the mid-span *** test specimens experienced compressive failure of concrete at the mid-span *** results showed good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of bending moments in the mid-span section and internal support *** proposed model can effectively predict the moment redistribution behavior of continuous GFRP-concrete composite slabs.

Enhancing entanglement and steering in a hybrid atom–optomechanical system via Duffing nonlinearity

We introduce a novel scheme for achieving quantum entanglement and Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen(EPR) steering between an atomic ensemble and a mechanical oscillator within a hybrid atom–optomechanical system. The system comprises an optical cavity, a two-level atomic ensemble and a mechanical resonator that possesses Duffing nonlinearity. The interaction between these components is mediated by the cavity mode, which is driven by an external laser. Our findings indicate that optimizing the coupling strengths between photons and phonons, as well as between atoms and the cavity,leads to maximal entanglement and EPR steering. The amplitude of the driving laser plays a pivotal role in enhancing the coupling between photons and phonons, and the system maintains robust entanglement and EPR steering even under high dissipation, thereby mitigating the constraints on initial conditions and parameter precision. Remarkably, the Duffing nonlinearity enhances the system's resistance to thermal noise, ensuring its stability and entanglement protection. Our analysis of EPR steering conditions reveals that the party with lower dissipation exhibits superior stability and a propensity to steer the party with higher dissipation. These discoveries offer novel perspectives for advancing quantum information processing and communication technologies.

Physarum polycephalum-inspired adaptive optimization design of artificial microtubular networks

Natural biological microtubular networks have undergone adaptive evolutionary selection and may offer viable solutions to design challenges in artificial microtubular networks. The plasmodium of the slime mold Physarum polycephalum(P. polycephalum) extends continuously to form a protoplasmic microtubular network structure, directly connecting food *** simulations revealed that the formation of this adaptive P. polycephalum microtubular network could be captured by a mathematical algorithm. Inspired by the P. polycephalum microtubular networks, we propose an adaptive optimization design method for artificial microtubular networks. Specifically, we utilized hydrogels with biodegradable and tissue-adhesive properties to replicate the P. polycephalum microtubular networks via photomask. In Rhodamine B diffusion and glucosecatalyzed reaction experiments, we found that the P. polycephalum microtubular networks exhibited significantly enhanced efficiency compared to vascular and artificial networks. Furthermore, we demonstrated the potential for uric acid(UA) degradation of the hydrogels with a real P. polycephalum microtubular network loaded with urate oxidase(UOx) in a rodent model of hyperuricemia. And this network achieved more than double the effect of the artificial network. This underscores the potential of natural microtubular networks to replace artificial microtubular networks.

In situ seed layer bandgap engineering leading to the conduction band offset reversion and efficient Sb2Se3 solar cells with high open-circuit voltage

Sb2Se3solar cells have achieved a power conversion efficiency（PCE） of over 10%.However,the serious open-circuit voltage deficit(VOC-deificit),induced by the hard-to-control crystal orientation and heterojunction interface reaction,limits the PCE of vapor transport deposition（VTD） processed Sb2Se3solar *** overcome the VOC-deficit problem of VTD processed Sb2Se3solar cells,herein,an in-situ bandgap regulation strategy is innovatively proposed to prepare a wide band gap Sb2（S,Se）3seed layer（WBSL） at CdS/Sb2Se3heterojunction interface to improve the PCE of Sb2Se3solar *** analysis results show that the introduced Sb2（S,Se）3seed layer can enhance the [001] orientation of Sb2Se3thin films,broaden the band gap of heterojunction interface,and realize a "Spike-like" conduction band alignment withΔEc=0.11 *** addition,thanks to the suppressed CdS/Sb2Se3interface reaction after WBSL application,the depletion region width of Sb2Se3solar cells is widened,and the quality of CdS/Sb2Se3interface and the carrier transporting performance of Sb2Se3solar cells are significantly improved as ***,the harmful Se vacancy defects near the front interface of Sb2Se3solar cells can be greatly diminished by ***,the PCE of Sb2Se3solar cells is improved from 7.0% to 7.6%;meanwhile the VOCis increased to 466 mV which is the highest value for the VTD derived Sb2Se3solar *** work will provide a valuable reference for the interface and orientation regulation of antimony-based chalcogenide solar cells.

BACKGROUND Type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus(T2DM)has been associated with increased risk of colon cancer(CC)and worse prognosis in patients with *** effects of T2DM on postoperative chemoresistance rate(CRR)and long-term disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS)in patients with stage Ⅲ CC who receive curative resection remain *** To investigate whether T2DM or glycemic control is associated with worse postoperative survival outcomes in stage Ⅲ *** This retrospective cohort study included 278 patients aged 40-75 years who underwent surgery for stage Ⅲ CC from 2018 to *** on preoperative T2DM history,the patients were categorized into non-DM(n=160)and DM groups(n=118).The latter was further divided into well-controlled(n=73)and poorly controlled(n=45)groups depending on the status of glycemic ***,OS,and CRR were compared between the groups and Cox regression analysis was used to identify risk *** Patients in the DM and non-DM groups demonstrated similar DFS,OS,and CRR(DFS:72.03%vs 78.75%,P=0.178;OS:81.36%vs 83.12%,P=0.638;CRR:14.41%vs 7.5%,P=0.063).Poorly controlled DM was associated with a significantly worse prognosis and higher CRR than well-controlled DM(DFS:62.22%vs 78.07%,P=0.021;OS:71.11%vs 87.67%,P=0.011;CRR:24.40%vs 8.22%,P=0.015).High preoperative fasting plasma glucose[DFS:Hazard ratio(HR)=2.684,P<0.001;OS:HR=2.105,P=0.019;CRR:HR=2.214,P=0.005]and glycosylated hemoglobin levels(DFS:HR=2.344,P=0.006;OS:HR=2.119,P=0.021;CRR:HR=2.449,P=0.009)indicated significantly poor prognosis and high CRR,while T2DM history did not(DFS:HR=1.178,P=0.327;OS:HR=0.933,P=0.739;CRR:HR=0.997,P=0.581).CONCLUSION Increased preoperative fasting plasma glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels,but not T2DM history,were identified as risk factors associated with poor postoperative outcomes and high CRR in patients with stage Ⅲ CC.
