Evaluating serum CXCL12,sCD22,Lp-PLA2 levels and ratios as biomarkers for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease

BACKGROUND Grasping the underlying mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease(AD)is still a work in progress,and existing diagnostic techniques encounter various ***,the discovery of dependable biomarkers is essential for early detection,tracking the disease's advancement,and steering treatment *** To explore the diagnostic potential of serum CXCL12,sCD22,Lp-PLA2,and their ratios in AD,aiming to enhance early detection and inform targeted treatment *** The study was conducted in Dongying people's Hospital from January 2021 to December *** included 60 AD patients(AD group)and 60 healthy people(control group).Using a prospective case-control design,the levels of CXCL12,sCD22 and Lp-PLA2 and their ratios were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit in the diagnosis of *** differences between the two groups were analyzed by statistical methods,and the corresponding ratio was constructed to improve the specificity and sensitivity of *** Serum CXCL12 levels were higher in the AD group(47.2±8.5 ng/mL)than the control group(32.8±5.7 ng/mL,P<0.001),while sCD22 levels were lower(14.3±2.1 ng/mL vs 18.9±3.4 ng/mL,P<0.01).Lp-PLA2 levels were also higher in the AD group(112.5±20.6 ng/mL vs 89.7±15.2 ng/mL,P<0.05).Significant differences were noted in CXCL12/sCD22(3.3 vs 1.7,P<0.001)and Lp-PLA-2/sCD22 ratios(8.0 vs 5.2,P<0.05)between the *** operating characteristic analysis confirmed high sensitivity and specificity of these markers and their ratios in distinguishing AD,with area under the curves ranging from CONCLUSION Serum CXCL12 and Lp-PLA2 levels were significantly increased,while sCD22 were significantly decreased,as well as increases in the ratios of CXCL12/sCD22 and Lp-PLA2/sCD22,are closely related to the onset of *** biomarkers and their ratios can be used as potential diagnostic indicators for AD,providing an important clinical reference for early intervention and treatment.

Effect of Cyclic Annealing on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Medium Carbon Steel

The microstructure and mechanical properties of medium carbon steel after cyclic heat treatment were in- vestigated. The effects of cyclic numbers and long time annealing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the experimental steel were compared. A short duration （5 min） holding at 1023 K （above A1 temperature） and a short-duration （3 min） holding at 893 K are adopted in each cyclic heat treatment. The spheroidization is accelerated during cyclic heat treatment, and the spheroidizing ratio grows with cyclic numbers. After 12-cycle heat treatments, there are few incompletely spheroidized regions in the specimens, and cementite lamellae mostly change into cement- ite particles. The morphological character of cementite for 12 cycles is similar to that undergoing annealing for 10 h at 973 K. The strength of the experimental steel after 5-cycle heat treatment is the lowest in the following cyclic heat treatment, but it is still higher than that of specimens with subcritical annealing over a long period （10 h）. After 12- cycle heat treatment, the strength of the experimental steel is close to that of the normalized steel, and the plasticity is the best in all heat treated specimens.

Gastric neuroendocrine tumors in a BRCA2 germline mutation carrier:A case report

BACKGROUND The molecular changes present in gastric neuroendocrine tumors(NETs)include a loss of heterozygosity or mutation of MEN1,CDKN1B gene mutation,P27 heterozygous mutation,and ATP4A gene missense *** identified and are the first to report a case of type 1 histamine-producing enterochromaffin-like cell NETs(ECL-cell NETs)with a BRCA2 gene germline *** SUMMARY The patient had a history of iron-deficient anemia for 5 years,and gastroscopic examination indicated multiple gastric ***,the patient underwent distal ***,multifocal tumor cells were found in the mucosa and submucosa;tumor cells were organoid and arranged in nests and cords,and the stroma was rich in *** surrounding gastric mucosa showed atrophy with mild intestinal metaplasia or pseudopyloric gland *** cells could be seen with diffuse linear,nodular,and adenomatous ***,the tumor cells diffusely expressed cytokeratin,chromogranin,synaptophysin,and ***-genome highthroughput molecular sequencing revealed a pathogenic germline mutation in the BRCA2 gene,a heterozygous germline frameshift mutation in exon 11,c.6443_6444del(p.S2148Yfs*2).The final diagnosis was gastric type 1 ECL-cell NETs with a BRCA2 gene germline mutation,accompanied by autoimmune *** This is the first report of a case of type 1 gastric ECL-cell NETs with a pathogenic germline mutation of the BRCA2 *** findings of this report will expand the germline mutation spectrum of gastric NETs and increase the understanding of the molecular changes present in these tumors for their improved diagnosis in the future.

Micromechanism study on electronic and magnetic properties of silicene regulated by oxygen

Silicene, a two-dimensional(2D) silicon counterpart of graphene with attractive electronic properties, has attracted increasing attention. Understanding of its interaction with oxygen is of fundamental importance for nano-electronics in silicon-based technology. Here, we have systematically studied the structural,electronic and magnetic properties of silicene with oxygen atoms adsorption by using an unbiased structure search method coupled with First-principles calculations. The results show that the most favorable oxygen adsorption site on silicene surface is bridge site and oxygen atoms tend to chemisorb on silicene.A detailed analysis of the electronic band structure and density of state(DOS) suggests that there is a band gap opening near Fermi level after oxygen adsorption, which lead to pristine silicene changing from a gapless semiconductor to a direct or indirect bandgap semiconductor. The important finding is that two and six oxygen atoms adsorbed silicene are more advantageous due to the relatively large direct band gaps at the K point. The calculated magnetic moments and spin density isosurfaces reveal that the total magnetic moments are mostly localized on silicene sheet. This finding provides new insights for further materials design based on two-dimensional silicon systems.

Dual-filler reinforced PVDF-HFP based polymer electrolyte enabling high-safety design of lithium metal batteries

Despite the high energy density of lithium metal batteries(LMBs),their application in rechargeable batteries is still hampered due to insufficient ***,we present a novel flame-retardant solid-state electrolyte based on polyvinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene(PVDF-HFP)with nano SiO_(2)aerogel as an inert filler but Li_(6.4)La_(3)Zr_(1.4)Ta_(0.6)O_(12)(LLZTO)as an auxiliary component to enhance the ion *** introduction of SiO_(2)aerogels imparts the polymer electrolyte with exceptional thermal stability and flame ***,the interaction between hydroxyl groups of SiO_(2)particles and PVDF-HFP creates a strong cross-linking structure,enhancing the mechanical strength and stability of the ***,the presence of SiO_(2)aerogel and LLZTO facilitates the dissociation of lithium salts through Lewis acid-base interactions,resulting in a high ionic conductivity of 1.01×10^(−3)S·cm^(−1)and a wide electrochemical window of~5.0 V at room temperature for the prepared ***,the assembled Li|Li cell demonstrates the excellent resistance to lithium dendrite and runs stablly for over 1500 h at a current density of 0.25 mA·cm^(−2).Thus,we prepare a pouch cell with high safety,which can work normally after short-circuiting under the external folding and cutting.

Buckling Properties of Water-Drop-Shaped Pressure Hulls with Various Shape Indices Under Hydrostatic External Pressure

The water-drop-shaped pressure hull has a good streamline,which has good application prospect in the underwater ***,this study conducted analytical,experimental and numerical investigation of the buckling properties of water-drop-shaped pressure hulls under hydrostatic pressure.A water-drop experiment was conducted to design water-drop-shaped pressure hulls with various shape *** critical loads for the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls were resolved by using Mushtari’s *** numerical simulations including linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis including eigenmode imperfections were *** results indicated that the critical loads resolved by Mushtari's formula were in good agreement with the linear buckling loads from the numerical *** formula can be extended to estimate the buckling capacity of water-drop-shaped pressure *** addition,three groups of pressure hulls were fabricated by using stereolithography,a rapid prototyping ***,three groups of the pressure hulls were subjected to ultrasonic measurements,optical scanning,hydrostatic testing and numerical *** experimental results were consistent with the numerical *** results indicate that the sharp end of the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls exhibited instability compared with the blunt *** paper provides a new solution to the limitations of experimental studies on the water-drop-shaped pressure hulls as well as a new configuration and evaluation method for underwater observatories.

Adhesion property of AlCrNbSiTi high-entropy alloy coating on zirconium:experimental and theoretical studies

Experimental scratch tests and first-principles calculations were used to investigate the adhesion property of AlCrNbSiTi high-entropy alloy(HEA)coatings on zirconium *** HEA and Cr coatings were deposited on Zr alloy substrates using multi-arc ion plating technology,and scratch tests were subsequently conducted to estimate the adhesion property of the *** results indicated that Cr coatings had better adhesion strength than HEA coatings,and the HEA coatings showed *** special quasi-random structure approach was used to build HEA models,and Cr/Zr and HEA/Zr interface models were employed to investigate the cohesion between the coatings and Zr substrate using first-principles *** calculated interface energies showed that the cohesion between the Cr coating and the Zr substrate was stronger than that of the HEA coating with *** contrary to Al or Si in the HEA coating,Cr,Nb,and Ti atoms binded strongly with Zr *** on the calculated elastic constants,it was found that low Cr and high Al content decreased the mechanical performances of HEA ***,this study demonstrated the utilization of a combined approach involving first-principles calculations and experimental studies for future HEA coating development.
