Characteristics and mechanisms of the intraseasonal variability of sea surface salinity in the southeastern Arabian Sea during 2015-2020

Based on Soil Moisture Active Passive sea surface salinity(SSS)data from April 2015 to August 2020,combined with Objectively Analyzed Air-Sea Heat Flux and other observational data and Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model(HYCOM)data,this work explores the characteristics and mechanisms of the intraseasonal variability of SSS in the southeastern Arabian Sea(SEAS).The results show that the intraseasonal variability of SSS in the SEAS is very significant,especially the strongest intraseasonal signal in SSS,which is located along the northeast monsoon current(NMC)path south of the Indian *** are remarkable seasonal differences in intraseasonal SSS variability,which is very weak in spring and summer and much stronger in autumn and *** strong intraseasonal variability in autumn and winter is closely related to the Madden-Julian Oscillation(MJO)event during this *** northeast wind anomaly in the Bay of Bengal(BOB)associated with the active MJO phase strengthens the East India Coastal Current and NMC and consequently induces more BOB low-salinity water to enter the SEAS,causing strong SSS *** addition,MJO-related precipitation further amplifies the intraseasonal variability of SSS in *** on budget analysis of the mixed layer salinity using HYCOM data,it is shown that horizontal salinity advection(especially zonal advection)dominates the intraseasonal variability of mixed layer salinity and that surface freshwater flux has a secondary role.

This study investigated the effects of domestic cooking process on the variations of soybean isoflavones,aiming at understanding the conversion of-glucosides and aglycones isoflavones during the process and the relation with antioxidant *** was found that-glucosides isoflavones was significantly increased from 223.01(raw)to 727.29 mg/g(frying at 160◦C for 2 min),but boiling showed only a slight increase to 258.14 mg/*** process for the mixed cooking of soybeans with vegetables was also evaluated,which is quite common in home *** results showed all bioactive ingredients were aggressively destroyed by over processing,but interestingly,green pepper and kelp exhibited isoflavones generation potentials for *** addition,cooking from 60 to 160◦C for 2 or 5 min,showed a significantly decrease on ***,in the case of fried soybeans which treated at 120◦C or 160◦C,when extending the heating time to 5 min,their FRAP activity got a significant *** present study may provide a practical guidance for healthy soybean cooking,by using frying around 120◦C for 5 min and mixed with some vegetables such as green peppers or kelp.

Rainfall and runoff energy results in soil erosion. This paper presents new the concepts of rainfall and runoff energy and analyzes the relationship of rainfall energy and runoff energy with sediment transport based on the conversion theory of kinetic and potential energy using artificial rainfall and mechanical calculation. The results show that the ratio of sediment detachment in sloping fallow overland flow increases with the slope gradient,rainfall energy and runoff energy, while the sediment detachment ratio under raindrop impact are significantly higher than those under no raindrop impact. The sediment concentration increases with the slope gradient and rainfall energy; when the slope gradient and rainfall energy are constant, the sediment concentration decreases as the runoff energy increases. Rainfall disturbance coefficients have a logarithmic correlation with the rate of rainfall energy and runoff energy. On the same slope gradient,when the rainfall energy is constant, the disturbance coefficient decreases as the runoff energy increases,while when the runoff energy is constant, the disturbance coefficient increases as the rainfall energyincreases. Rainfall energy results in sediment detachment, and runoff energy is the transportation for erosion sediment. This showed that rainfall energy and runoff energy are important in the sediment detachment and transportation of shallow overland flow.

The present study aimed at making a rational usage for European eel bone by-products by preparing Europen eel bone peptide chelated calcium(EBPC-Ca).Nutritional properties and bioactivity of EBPC-Ca were *** showed that nutritional properties of calcium ions will cause intra-and inter-molecular folding and aggregation of peptide to uniformly form EBPC-Ca *** chelated compound of EBPC and calcium ion triggered a strong apoptosis in heterogeneous human epithelial colorectal adenocarcinoma(Caco-2)in concentration-and time-dependent *** blot analysis revealed that the EBPC-Ca induced apoptosis may be the result of a blocked autophagy flux through mitochondrial-dependent ***,the increase in FGF-23 protein expression inhibited the absorption of calcium ions and alleviated cell *** was also found that the cell apoptosis occurs with significant increases in the levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS)and Ca^(2+)in the cells,indicating the anti-tumor potential of EBPC-Ca may involve multiple channels.

Stylopeptide 1 synthesized and isolated from different sources exhibits a large activity difference in inhibitory effect on the growth of a cancer *** on the different amounts of methanol and water during synthesis,isolation and purification of the cyclic peptides,molecular dynamics(MD) was employed to simulate the conformation of stylopeptide 1 in methanol and aqueous *** comparative results show that the backbone ring was more rigid in methanol than in *** methanol,two β-turns and three hydrogen bonds were well conserved throughout the simulation,whereas no hydrogen bonds or turns were preserved in *** activity difference of stylopeptide 1 seemed to be attributed to the solvent effect on its conformation.

BACKGROUND The self-expandable metal stent is used as a bridge to surgery in the treatment of acute malignant colorectal obstruction(AMCO). However, recent studies have shown inferior long-term outcomes and increased risk of tumor dissemination after stent placement. In addition, the optimal interval between stent placement and surgery is not clear. The aim of the current study was to present a new strategy for AMCO: stent placement followed by preoperative chemotherapy and elective *** SUMMARY Six patients were diagnosed as acute obstruction. There was one patient with descending cancer, four with sigmoid cancers and one with rectal cancer. The obstructive symptoms of these six patients were relieved within 3 d after stent placement. After receiving two cycles of preoperative chemotherapy, consisting of modified infusional fluorouracil, leucovorin and oxaliplatin [modified FOLFOX6(mFOLFOX6)], they underwent elective surgery of primary tumor resection. None of the 6 patients received colostomy or colonic lavage during surgery. There was no complication of anastomotic leak, ileus or surgical site infection after surgery. In addition, the patients had low operation time and blood loss, adequate lymph nodes harvest and fast postoperative *** The two-cycle mFOLFOX6 preoperative chemotherapy and elective surgery after stent placement is a safe and feasible strategy in the management of AMCO.

First-order Derivative Spectrophotometry for the Determination of Vitamin C in Medicament

A novel method for the determination of vitamin C（Vc） is proposed in this article. After the reaction with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent at ambient temperature, Vc solution was scanned at 750--1100 nm, and its first-order derivative spectrum were obtained from the original spectrum. The values of derivative selected at 995 nm were used for determination. It was proved that Vc could quickly react with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent within 5 min and the product was quite stable for a long time. The conditions required for this method is not very complicated, its precision and accuracy are similar to those of the iodometric titration described in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and the limit of detection is 0.312 μg/mL. The determination of the results of vitamin C tablet, pill, and injection demonstrates that this method has wide pharmaceutical applications.

Beneficial effects of AOS-iron supplementation on intestinal structure and microbiota in IDA rats

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of agar oligosaccharide-iron(AOS-iron)on intestinal tissue pathology and microbiota in IDA rats induced by a low-iron diet,further to find the relationship between intestinal microbiota and iron metabolic *** 4 weeks of AOS-iron supplementation,the fecal iron content of IDA rats markedly increased in a dose-dependent manner,only the damaged cecum and colon tissues in medium-dose(MD)and high-dose(HD)groups were repaired to the baseline,while the diversity of gut microbiota was improved even at low dose(LD).Furthermore,the supplementation of AOS-iron altered the composition of gut *** the genus level,the beneficial microbiota was enriched in AOS-iron groups,but the relative abundance of potential opportunistic pathogens obviously reduced compared to that in the anemia model(AM)***’s correlation analysis revealed that biochemical parameters,including blood metabolic parameters,iron contents,body weight,GSH-PX and T-AOC activity,were positively correlated with SMB53,Anaerotruncus,Anaerostipes and Coprobacillus but negatively correlated with Morganella,Fusobacterium and *** findings indicated that AOS-iron effectively repaired the damaged intestinal tissue and ameliorated iron metabolic disorders by regulating gut microbiota desirably,which could provide references for the treatment of IDA.
