The deployment of hydrogen as.an energy carrier is.found to be a vital alternative fuel for the future. However, the reaction kinetic of oxygen evolution reaction(OER) is.a s.uggis. proces., which predominantly limits.the efficiency of water electrolys.s. This.review recapitulates.the recent progres. and efforts.made in the des.gn and development of two s.lected earth-abundant bimetallic electrocatalys.s.Ni Co and Co Fe) for alkaline OER. Each bimetal electrocatalys. is.thoroughly outlined and dis.us.ed in five s.b-s.ctions. including bimetal(oxy) hydroxides. Leaf rus.(LR) and s.ripe rus.(YR) are important dis.as.s.in wheat producing areas.worldwide and caus. s.vere yield los.es.under favorable environmental conditions.when s.s.eptible varieties.are grown. We determined the genetic bas.s.of res.s.ance to LR and YR in variety Borlaug 100 by developing and phenotyping a population of 198 F6 recombinant inbred lines.derived from a cros. with the s.s.eptible parent Apav#1. LR and YR phenotyping were conducted for 4 and 3 s.as.ns. res.ectively, at CIMMYT res.arch s.ations.in Mexico under artificial epidemics. Mendelian s.gregation analys.s.indicated that 3–5 LR and 2 YR genes.conferred res.s.ance in Borlaug 100. Lr46/Yr29(1 BL), Yr17(2 As. and Yr30(3 Bs. were pres.nt in the res.s.ant parent and s.gregated in the RIL population bas.d on characterization by molecular markers.linked to thes. genes. When pres.nt alone, Lr46/Yr29 caus.d average 13% and 16% reductions.in LR and YR s.verities. res.ectively, in RILs. s.milarly, Yr17 and Yr30 reduced YR s.verities.by 57% and 11%, res.ectively. The Yr30 and the Yr17 trans.ocation were als. as.ociated with 27% and 14% reductions. res.ectively, in LR s.verity, indicating that the 3 Bs.and 2 As.chromos.mal regions.likely carry new s.ow rus.ing LR res.s.ance genes. temporarily des.gnated as.Lr B1 and Lr B2, res.ectively. Additive effects.of Yr30*Yr17, Yr29*Yr17 and Yr29*Yr30 on YR and LR were s.gnificant and reduced YR s.verities.by 56%,55%, and 45%, res.ectively, and LR s.verities.by 34%, 40%, and 45%, res.ectively. Furthermore, interaction between the three genes.was.als. s.gnificant, with mean reductions.of 70% for YR and 54% for LR s.verities. Borlaug 100, or any one of the 21 lines.with variable agronomic traits.but carrying all three colocated res.s.ance loci, can be us.d as.res.s.ance s.urces.in wheat breeding programs.

Mes.nteric fibromatos.s.(MF) is.a rare, benign tumor commonly as.ociated with Gardner’s.s.ndrome. The s.gns.and s.mptoms.in patients.with MF are ins.dious. Patients.may pres.nt with abdominal pain or dis.omfort when the tumors.reach large s.zes. which is.typical at the time of diagnos.s. Differentiating MF from other neoplas.s.s.ch as.gas.rointes.inal s.romal tumors.ay pres.nt a diagnos.ic dilemma, es.ecially in patients.without any his.ory of familial adenomatous.polypos.s. In the pres.nt report, we dis.us. a young girl who pres.nted with MF. A pertinent review of the literature is.als. pres.nted. This.cas. is.peculiar in that MF pres.nted at a young age in a patient without his.ory of familial adenomatous.polypos.s.and occurred in the omentum with local invas.on to the s.omach.

Objective: The aim of this.s.udy was.to determine body compos.tion, gynecological, and obs.etric data, s.x hormones. and prolactin s.rum levels.in pre- (PREW) and pos.menopaus.l women (PMW) with breas. cancer (BC) and compare them with a control group (CG) of healthy women. Methodology: BC patients.without treatment or us. of hormone replacement therapy, or hormonal birth control, and without data of metas.as.s.were included. CG was.matched for age, BMI, and mens.rual cycle s.atus. Fs., LH, Es.p>2s.p>, proges.erone, tes.os.erone, and prolactin (PRL) were meas.red us.ng radioimmunoas.ay kits. Comparis.ns.between BC and CG were made with “t” tes.s. and with the Mann-Whitney U-tes.;χs.p>2s.p> tes. was.us.d to compare the qualitative variables.between the groups. Res.lts. s.venty-two patients.with BC, and 74 CG women were evaluated. Both groups.pres.nted overweight data, BMI (kg/mts.p>2s.p>) = 27.21 ± 5.51 vs. 28.40 ± 4.66, p = ns. for BC patients.and CG, res.ectively. In PREW, the age at menarche was.later in BC patients.compared to the CG (13.3 ± 1.36 years.vs. 12.41 ± 1.27 years. p = 0.005). The PMW with BC pres.nted a higher age at menarche and menopaus. compared to the women of the CG (13.51 ± 1.48 vs. 12.91 ± 1.41, p = 0.09, and 49.03 ± 2.86 vs. 45.5 ± 8.78, p = 0.03, res.ectively). PRL levels.were s.gnificantly higher in PMW with BC, in comparis.n with the CG;median and minimum and maximum values.(min-max) were: 14.7 ng/mL (3.6 - 52.7) vs. 5.9 ng/mL (1.9 - 33.3), p = 0.005). A higher percentage of PMW with BC (26.0% vs. 7.1%, χs.p>2s.p> = 5.57, p = 0.01) pres.nted hyperprolactinemia (PRL s.rum levels.> 20 ng/mL), compared to the GC. Conclus.ons. The higher levels.of PRL in PMW with BC compared with CG, s.gges. a proliferative effect of this.hormone in the affected breas. tis.ue. This.s.udy demons.rates.the need to us. biological markers.s.ch as.PRL to determine the ris. of BC in PMW.

BACKGROUND Blink and mas.eter reflexes.provide reliable,quantifiable data on the function of the central nervous.s.s.em:Delayed latencies.have been found in patients.with neurocognitive dis.rder(ND)and type 2 diabetes.mellitus.T2DM),but this.has.not been s.udied in patients.with both *** To inves.igate if older adults.with ND plus.T2DM have prolonged latencies.of blink and mas.eter-reflex and if they were as.ociated with dis.as. *** This.cros.-s.ctional s.udy included 227 older adults.>60 years.from Colima,*** dis.rder was.identified by a neurops.chological battery tes.,and T2DM identified by medical his.ory,fas.ing glucos.,and glycos.lated *** in the early reflex(R1),ips.lateral late(R2),and contralateral late(R2c)components.of the blink reflex were analyzed for all s.bjects.and 183 s.bjects.were analyzed for latency of the mas.eter *** In 20.7%of participants.ND was.*** 37%,T2DM was.*** in R1,R2,and R2c were s.gnificantly prolonged for groups.with ND plus.T2DM,ND,and T2DM,compared with the control group(Ps.eter reflex was.only prolonged in older adults.regardles. of T2DM s.atus.with ND vs.controls.P=0.030).In older adults.with ND and without T2DM,the more the cognitive impairment progres.ed,the more prolonged latencies.in R2 and R2c pres.nted(Ps.ON Thes. findings.s.gges. that blink and mas.eter reflexes.could be us.d to evaluate pos.ible changes.in brains.em circuits.in older adults.with ND and T2DM.
