The transcription factor ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE5(ABI5)plays a crucial role in abscisic acid(ABA)signaling during seed ***,how ABI5 is regulated during this process is poorly ***,we report that the ubiquitin E3 ligase MIEL1 and its target transcription factor MYB30 modulate ABA responses in Arabidopsis thaliana during seed germination and seedling establishment via the precise regulation of ***1 interacts with and ubiquitinates ABI5 to facilitate its degradation during *** transcription factor MYB30,whose turnover is mediated by MIEL1 during seed germination,also interacts with ABI5 to interfere with its transcriptional ***30 functions downstream of MIEL1 in the ABA response,and both are epistatic to ABI5 in ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and postgerminative *** treatment induces the degradation of MIEL1 and represses the interaction between MIEL1 and ABI5/MYB30,thus releasing both ABI5 and *** results demonstrate that MIEL1 directly mediates the proteasomal degradation of ABI5 and inhibits its activity via the release of its target protein MYB30,thus ensuring precise ABA signaling during seed germination and seedling establishment.

The conjugation of SUMO （small ubiquitin-like modifier） to protein substrates is a reversible process （SUMOylation/deSUMOylation） that regulates plant devel- opment and stress responses. The essential metal copper （Cu） is required for normal plant growth, but excess amounts are toxic. The SUMO E3 ligase, SIZI, and SIZ1- mediated SUMOylation function in plant tolerance to excess Cu. It is unknown whether deSUMOylation also contributes to Cu tolerance in plants. Here, we report that OTSI, a protease that cleaves SUMO from its substrate proteins, participates in Cu tolerance in Arabidopsis thaliana （Arabi- dopsis）. OTS1 loss-of-function mutants （otsl-2 and otsl-3） displayed increased sensitivity to excess Cu. Redox homeostasis and the balance between SUMOylation and deSUMOylation were disrupted in the otsl-3 mutant under excess Cu conditions, The otsl-3 mutant accumulated higher levels of Cu in both shoots and roots compared to wild type. Specific Cu-related metal transporter genes were upregu- lated due to the loss-of-function of OTS% which might explain the high Cu levels in otsl-3. These results suggest that the SUMOylation/deSUMOylation machinery is acti- vated in response to excess Cu, and modulates Cu homeostasis and tolerance by regulating both Cu uptake and detoxification. Together, our findings provide insight into the biological function and regulatory role of SUMOylation/deSUMOylation in plant tolerance to Cu.

Anthocyanins play diverse roles in plant physiology and stress *** Arabidopsis,the MYB–bHLH–WD40(MBW)complex has a crucial role in the regulation of anthocyanin ***,we report that the R2R3-MYB transcription factor MYB30 and the ubiquitin E3 ligase RHA2b participate in anthocyanin biosynthesis through regulation of the MBW ***30 was found to negatively regulate sucrose-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis in Arabidopsis *** of multiple genes involved inflavo-noid or anthocyanin biosynthesis was affected in the myb30 mutant,and MYB30 directly repressed the expression of MYB75,which encodes a core component of the MBW complex,by binding to its ***,MYB30 physically interacted with MYB75 to inhibit its activity by repressing MBW complex *** addition,sucrose treatment signicantly promoted MYB30 degradation via the action of *** ubiquitination and degradation of MYB30 were signicantly attenuated in the rha2b mutant un-der high-sucrose treatment,and further analysis showed that MYB75 directly promoted RHA2b expression in response to high *** work thus reveals an anthocyanin biosynthetic regulatory module,RHA2b–MYB30,that controls the function of the MBW complex via *** repression of MYB75 by MYB30 is released by MYB75-induced RHA2b expression,thus ensuring the self-activation of MYB75 when anthocy-anin synthesis is needed.

Switchgrass(Panicum virgatum L.)is an important perennial,noninvasive,tall ornamental grass that adds color and texture to gardens and ***,switchgrass has been considered a forage and bioenergy crop because of its vigorous growth,low-input requirements,and broad ***,we identified PvWOX3a from switchgrass,which encodes a WUSCHEL-related homeobox transcription *** overexpression of PvWOX3a in switchgrass increased stem length,internode diameter,and leaf blade length and width,all of which contributed to a 95%average increase in dry weight biomass compared with control *** one-hybrid and transient dual-luciferase assays showed that PvWOX3a can repress the expression of gibberellin 2-oxidase and cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase through apparently direct interaction with their promoter *** results suggested that overexpression of PvWOX3a could increase gibberellin and cytokinin levels in transgenic switchgrass plants,which promotes cell division,elongation,and vascular bundle *** also overexpressed PvWOX3a in a transgenic miR156-overexpressing switchgrass line that characteristically exhibited more tillers,thinner internodes,and narrower leaf *** transgenic switchgrass plants displayed significant increases in internode length and diameter,leaf blade width,and plant height but retained a tiller number comparable to that of plants expressing miR156 ***,the double transgenic switchgrass plants produced 174%more dry-weight biomass and 162%more solubilized sugars on average than control *** findings indicated that PvWOX3a is a viable potential genetic target for engineering improved shoot architecture and biomass yield of horticulture,fodder,and biofuel crops.

Carbon dioxide photocatalytic reduction (CO2-PR) is an efficient method for controlling CO2emissions and generating cleaner energy while mitigating global warming. Tungsten oxides (WxOy) have attracted considerable attention for CO2-PR due to their excellent spectral absorbance. However, comprehensive reviews are lacking on the use of WxOyfor CO2-PR. Therefore, this review provides a detailed summary of t research progress made with WxOy-based catalysts in CO2-PR. It also explains the fundamental principles of CO2-PR and evaluates key performance indicators that affect the activity of WxOy-based photocatalysts,including yield, selectivity, stability, and apparent quantum yield. Additionally, this review explores opportunities for synthesizing high-performance WxOy-based photocatalysts and highlights their potential for the green preparation of C1/C2 products through CO2-PR. These innovative strategies aim to address the challenges and pressures associated with energy and environmental issues, particularly by enhancing artificial photosynthesis efficiency.

Dear Editor,This letter studies the bipartite consensus tracking problem for heterogeneous multi-agent systems with actuator faults and a leader's unknown time-varying control input. To handle such a problem, the continuous fault-tolerant control protocol via observer design is developed. In addition, it is strictly proved that the multi-agent system driven by the designed controllers can still achieve bipartite consensus tracking after faults occur.
