Absorbed Bioactive Compounds Replicate GuanxinⅡ-Induced Endothelium-Associated in/ex vivo Vasodilation

Objective:To develop an interference-free and rapid method to elucidate GuanxinⅡ(GXⅡ)'s representative vasodilator absorbed bioactive compounds(ABCs)among enormous ***:The contents of ferulic acid,tanshinol,and hydroxysafflor yellow A(FTA)in GXⅡ/rat serum after the oral administration of GXⅡ(30 g/kg)were detected using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass *** 18 rats were randomly assigned to the control group(0.9%normal saline),GXⅡ(30 g/kg)and FTA(5,28 and 77 mg/kg)by random number table *** coronary flow velocity-time integral(VTI),i.e.,coronary flow or coronary flow-mediated dilation(CFMD),and endothelium-intact vascular tension of isolated aortic rings were *** 12 h of exposure to blank medium or 0.5 mmol/L H_(2)O_(2),endothelial cells(ECs)were treated with post-dose GXⅡof supernatant from deproteinized serum(PGSDS,300μL PGSDS per 1 m L of culture medium)or FTA(237,1539,and 1510 mg/m L)for 10 min as control,H_(2)O_(2),PGSDS and FTA *** oxide(NO),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),endothelin-1(ET-1),superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde(MDA)and phosphorylated phosphoinositide 3 kinase(p-PI3K),phosphorylated protein kinase B(p-AKT),phosphorylated endothelial nitric oxide synthase(p-e NOS)were *** was developed as a GXⅡproxy of ex vivo herbal crude ***:PGSDS effectively eliminates false responses caused by crude GXⅡ*** doses equaled the contents in GXⅡ/its post-dose serum,FTA accounted for 98.17%of GXⅡ-added CFMD and 92.99%of PGSDS-reduced vascular *** ECs,FTA/PGSDS was found to have significant antioxidant(lower MDA and higher SOD,P<0.01)and endothelial function-protective(lower VEGF,ET-1,P<0.01)*** increases in aortic relaxation,endothelial NO levels and phosphorylated PI3K/Akt/e NOS protein induced by FTA/PGSDS were markedly abolished by NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester(L-NA,e NOS inhibitor)and wortmannin(PI3K/AKT inhibitor

Coptidis Rhizoma-Contained Traditional Formulae for Insomnia:A Potential to Prevent Diabetes?

It has been well known that insomnia and sleep deprivation can lead to many metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabete mellitus （T2DM）o Chinese medicine （CM） has been used to improve insomnia and showed many good therapeutic effects. Some Coptidis Rhizoma-contained traditional formulae have been found to exert obvious effects on insomnia, such as Jiaotai Pill （交泰丸）, huanglian Ejiao Decoction （黄连阿胶汤）, huanglian wendan Decoction （黄连温胆汤）, Niuhuang Qingxin Pill （牛黄清心丸）, and Zhusha Anshen Pill （朱砂安神丸）. Coptidis Rhizoma, a traditional herbal medicine which can purge Xin （Heart） fire, is the most important component of these formulas. Studies have found that these formulae could improve T2DM symptoms. We hypothesized that treating insomnia theoretically may help to prevent diabetes and organized many experimental studies in this review and concluded that Coptidis Rhizoma-contained traditional formulae for insomnia might be a potential to prevent diabetes.

Cationic engineered nanodiamonds for efficient antibacterial surface with strong wear resistance

The spread of diseases caused by bacterial adhesion and immobilization in public places constitutes a serious threat to public *** of bacteria spread by the construction of an antibacterial surface takes precedence over post-infection ***,we demonstrate an effective antibacterial surface with strong wear resistance by constructing cationic engineered nanodiamonds(C-NDs).The C-NDs with positive surface potentials interact effectively with bacteria through electrostatic interactions,where the C-NDs act on the phospholipid bilayer and lead to bacterial membrane collapse and rupture through hydrogen bonding and residual surface oxygen-containing reactive *** this case,bactericidal rate of 99.99%and bacterial biofilm inhibition rate of more than 80%can be achieved with the C-NDs concentration of 1 mg/*** addition,the C-NDs show outstanding antibacterial stability,retaining over 87%of the antibacterial effect after stimulation by adverse environments of heat,acid,and external ***,an antibacterial surface with high wear resistance obtained by integrating C-NDs with commercial plastics has been *** antibacterial surface with a mass fraction of 1 wt.%C-NDs improved abrasion resistance by 3981 times,with 99%killing of adherent *** work provides an effective strategy for highly efficient antibacterial wear-resistant surface,showing great practical applications in public health environments.

Insight into structural degradation of NCMs under extreme fast charging process

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)with extreme fast charging(XFC)capability are considered an effective way to alleviate range anxiety for electric vehicle(EV)*** to the high ionic and electronic conductivity of LiNi_(x)Co_(y)Mn_zO_(2)(x+y+z=1,NCM)cathodes,the inevitable Li plating of graphite in NCM|graphite cell is usually identified as a key bottleneck for XFC ***,the capacity decay mechanism of cathode materials under XFC has not been fully *** this work,three typical NCM cathode materials with different Ni fractions were chosen and their electrochemical performances under XFC associated with structural evolution were investigated.A faster capacity decay of NCMs under XFC conditions is observed,especially for Ni-rich ***-situ X-ray diffraction(XRD)reveals that the multiple caxis parameters appear at the high-voltage regions in Nirich NCMs,which is probably triggered by the larger obstruction of Li(de)***,NCMs with moderate Ni fraction also present a similar trend under XFC *** phenomenon is more detrimental to the structural and morphological stability,resulting in a faster capacity decay than that under low current *** work provides new insight into the degradation mechanism of NCMs under XFC conditions,which can promote the development of NCM cathode materials with XFC capability.

Shock-induced energy localization and reaction growth considering chemical-inclusions effects for crystalline explosives

Chemical inclusions significantly alter shock responses of crystalline explosives in macroscale gap experiments but their microscale dynamics origin remains *** shock-induced energy localization,overall physical responses,and reactions in a-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazinane(a-RDX)crystal entrained various chemical inclusions were investigated by the multi-scale shock technique implemented in the reactive molecular dynamics *** indicated that energy localization and shock reaction were affected by the intrinsic factors within chemical inclusions,i.e.,phase states,chemical compositions,and *** atomic origin of chemical-inclusions effects on energy localization is dependent on the dynamics mechanism of interfacial molecules with free space volume,which includes homogeneous intermolecular compression,interfacial impact and shear,and void collapse and *** introducing various chemical inclusions,the initiation of those dynamics mechanisms triggers diverse decay rates of bulk RDX molecules and hereby impacts on growth speeds of final *** chemical inclusions can reduce the effectiveness of the void during the shock *** the shockwave velocity of 9 km/s,the parent RDX decay rate in RDX entrained amorphous carbon decreases the most and is about one fourth of that in RDX with a vacuum void,and solid HMX and TATB inclusions are more reactive than amorphous carbon but less reactive than dry air or acetone *** lessdense shocking system denotes the greater increases in local temperature and stress,the faster energy liberation,and the earlier final reaction into equilibrium,revealing more pronounced responses to the present intense *** quantitative models associated with the relative system density(RD_(sys))were proposed for indicating energy-localization mechanisms and evaluating initiation safety in the shocked crystalline ***_(sys)is defined by the density ratio of defective RDX to perfec

A resonant cavity based on the TM_(010)mode is an effective tool for noninvasive beam *** technique has the advantages of a high signal-to-noise ratio,compact structure,and is related to multiple parameters compared with other beam *** this study,high-precision measurements of the bunch charge,arrival timne,bunch length,and energy parameters based on the TM_(010)mode are discussed.A cavity beam arrival time monitor(BAM)utilizing a phase cavity has been widely used in many *** bunch-length measurermnents,the influence of the beam energy,beam offset,and longitudinal spectrum on the TM_(010)mode are ca rfully considered to reduce errors,and the theoretical resolution of two cavities with different frequencies is *** to the dependence of the beam velocity of the beam loss factor,this method can also be used for the detection low beam energy using two cavities with the same frequency but different cavity lengths.A set of three cavities with different lengths and frequencies of1902 and 1424 GHz is presented for measuring the four aforementioned parameters.

Delayed and nonhealing of diabetic wounds imposes substantial economic burdens and physical pain on *** stem cells(MSCs)promote diabetic wound *** when MSCs aggregate into multicellular spheroids,their therapeutic effect is ***,traditional culture platforms are inadequate for the efficient preparation and delivery of MSC spheroids,resulting in inefficiencies and inconveniences in MSC spheroid *** this study,a three-dimensional porous nanofibrous dressing(NFD)is prepared using a combination of electrospinning and homogeneous *** thermal crosslinking,the NFD not only achieves satisfactory elasticity but also maintains notable *** the design of its structure and chemical composition,the NFD allows MSCs to spontaneously form MSC spheroids with controllable sizes,serving as MSC spheroid delivery systems for diabetic wound *** importantly,MSC spheroids cultured on the NFD exhibit improved secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor,basic fibroblast growth factor,and hepatocyte growth factor,thereby accelerating diabetic wound *** NFD provides a competitive strategy for MSC spheroid formation and delivery to promote diabetic wound healing.
