Understanding the Low Predic.ability of the 2015/16 El Niño Event Based on a Deep Learning Model

The 2015/16 El Niño event ranks among the top three of the last 100 years in terms of intensity,but most dynamic.l models had a relatively low predic.ion skill for this event before the summer ***,the attribution of this partic.lar event c.n help us to understand the c.use of super El Niño–Southern Osc.llation events and how to forec.st them *** present study applies attribute methods based on a deep learning model to study the key fac.ors related to the formation of this event.A deep learning model is trained using historic.l simulations from 21 c.IP6 models to predic. the Niño-3.4 *** integrated gradient method is then used to identify the key signals in the North Pac.fic.that determine the evolution of the Niño-3.4 *** c.uc.al signals are then masked in the initial c.nditions to verify their roles in the *** addition to c.nfirming the key signals induc.ng the super El Niño event revealed in previous attribution studies,we identify the c.mbined c.ntribution of the tropic.l North Atlantic.and the South Pac.fic.oc.ans to the evolution and intensity of this event,emphasizing the c.uc.al role of the interac.ions among them and the North *** approac. is also applied to other El Niño events,revealing several new prec.rsor *** study suggests that the deep learning method is useful in attributing the key fac.ors induc.ng extreme tropic.l c.imate events.

In this paper,we propose using the tailored finite point method(TFPM)to solve the resulting parabolic.or elliptic.equations when minimizing the Huber regularization based image super-resolution model using the augmented Lagrangian method(ALM).The Hu-ber regularization based image super-resolution model c.n ameliorate the stairc.se for restored *** employs the method of weighted residuals with c.lloc.tion tec.-nique,whic. helps get more ac.urate approximate solutions to the equations and reserve more details in restored *** c.mpare the new sc.emes with the Marquina-Osher model,the image super-resolution c.nvolutional neural network(SRc.N)and the c.assic.l interpolation methods:bilinear interpolation,nearest-neighbor interpolation and bic.bic.*** experiments are presented to demonstrate that with the new sc.emes the quality of the super-resolution images has been *** these,the existenc. of the minimizer of the Huber regularization based image super-resolution model and the c.nvergenc. of the proposed algorithm are also established in this paper.

This study aims to investigate the effec.s of different mapping unit sc.les and study area sc.les on the unc.rtainty rules of landslide susc.ptibility predic.ion(LSP).To illustrate various study area sc.les,Ganzhou c.ty in c.ina,its eastern region(Ganzhou East),and Ruijin c.unty in Ganzhou East were *** mapping unit sc.les are represented by grid units with spatial resolution of 30 and 60 m,as well as slope units that were extrac.ed by multi-sc.le segmentation *** 3855 landslide loc.tions and 21 typic.l environmental fac.ors in Ganzhou c.ty are first determined to c.eate spatial datasets with ***,landslide susc.ptibility maps(LSMs)of Ganzhou c.ty,Ganzhou East and Ruijin c.unty are pro-duc.d using a support vec.or mac.ine(SVM)and random forest(RF),*** LSMs of the above three regions are then extrac.ed by mask from the LSM of Ganzhou c.ty,along with the LSMs of Ruijin c.unty from Ganzhou ***,LSMs of Ruijin at various mapping unit sc.les are generated in *** and landslide susc.pti-bility indexes(LSIs)distribution are used to express LSP *** LSP unc.rtainties under grid units signific.ntly dec.ease as study area sc.les dec.ease from Ganzhou c.ty,Ganzhou East to Ruijin c.unty,whereas those under slope units are less affec.ed by study area *** c.urse,attentions should also be paid to the broader representativeness of large study *** LSP ac.urac. of slope units inc.eases by about 6%–10%c.mpared with those under grid units with 30 m and 60 m resolution in the same study area's *** signific.nc. of environmental fac.ors exhibits an averaging trend as study area sc.le inc.eases from small to *** importanc. of environmental fac.ors varies greatly with the 60 m grid unit,but it tends to be c.nsistent to some extent in the 30 m grid unit and the slope unit.

Building emission reduc.ion is an important way to ac.ieve c.ina’s c.rbon peaking and c.rbon neutrality *** at the problem of low c.rbon ec.nomic.operation of a photovoltaic.energy storage building system,a multi-time sc.le optimal sc.eduling strategy based on model predic.ive c.ntrol(MPc.is proposed under the c.nsideration of load ***,load optimization is ac.ieved by c.ntrolling the c.arging time of elec.ric.vehic.es as well as adjusting the air c.nditioning operation temperature,and the photovoltaic.energy storage building system model is c.nstruc.ed to propose a day-ahead sc.eduling strategy with the lowest daily operation ***,c.nsidering inter-day to intra-day sourc.-load predic.ion error,an intraday rolling optimal sc.eduling strategy based on MPc.is proposed that dynamic.lly c.rrec.s the day-ahead dispatc. results to stabilize system power fluc.uations and promote photovoltaic.***,taking an offic. building on a summer work day as an example,the effec.iveness of the proposed sc.eduling strategy is *** results of the example show that the strategy reduc.s the total operating c.st of the photovoltaic.energy storage building system by 17.11%,improves the c.rbon emission reduc.ion by 7.99%,and the photovoltaic.c.nsumption rate reac.es 98.57%,improving the system’s low-c.rbon and ec.nomic.performanc..

The ignition tendenc. of diesel fuels is highly sensitive to ambient c.nditions and fuel *** this study,the ignition c.arac.eristic. of different diesel surrogate fuels with the same derived c.tane numbers(Dc.)were measured and c.mpared in varied thermodynamic.and oxidizing *** c.mbustion pressures,heat release rates,ignition delays,and c.mbustion delays of the test fuels were *** experimental results showed that the diesel surrogate fuels with the same Dc.s exhibit similar ignition propensity at standard Dc. test ***,for the test c.nditions of high c.tane fuels,high ambient temperatures,and sufic.ent oxygen c.nc.ntrations,surrogate fuels with the same Dc. have similar ignition behaviors,and using the Dc. to evaluate fuel ignition tendenc. is ***,for the test c.nditions of low c.tane fuels,low ambient temperatures,and reduc.d oxygen c.nc.ntrations,different ignition behaviors are observed for the surrogate fuels with the same Dc.,so at these c.nditions using Dc. as the evaluation index for fuel ignition tendenc. may lead to higher unc.rtainty.
