Effect of flue gas outlet temperature in evaporator on thermal economic performance of organic Rankine cycle system for sinter waste heat recovery

In order to improve the recovery and utilization rates of sinter waste heat effectively,the organic Rankine cycle(ORC)system with subcritical cycle was designed to recover the low-temperature sinter cooling flue gas waste heat in an annular cooler for power generation.The thermodynamic,economic and multi-objective optimization models of ORC system were established,and R600a was selected as the ORC working medium.Subsequently,the variations in system thermodynamic performance and economic performance with the ORC thermal parameters were discussed in detail,and the optimal ORC thermal parameters were determined.The results show that the system net output power increases with increasing the evaporation temperature and decreasing the condensation temperature and increases first and then,decreases with the increase in superheat degree for a given flue gas outlet temperature in the evaporator,while the heat transfer area per unit net output power appears different variation trends in various ranges of flue gas outlet temperature.Taking the sinter cooling flue gas waste heat of 160℃as the ORC heat source,the optimal thermal parameters of ORC system were the flue gas outlet temperature of 90℃,the evaporation temperature of 95℃,the superheat degree of 10℃,and the condensation temperature of 28℃.

Experiments were designed to simulate the corrosion of a low-carbon steel exposed to a marine splash zone. The composition and morphology of the rust were investigated using Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy. Corrosion resistance of the rust films was demonstrated by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The wettability of the steel surface was calculated from the data conceruing the wetting degree and the conductivity. The results showed that, in the initial stage, the products of the outer rust layer were mainly made up of Fe（Ⅲ） oxyhydroxide, while the main component of the inner rust layer was magnetite. With an increase in the corrosion time, the inner rust layer continuously turned into the outer rust layer. In addition, both rust layers became dense, thus playing a protective role with respect to matrix. The existence of the rust layer significantly prolonged the residence time of the seawater on the sample surface, a result that tends to improve the cathodic protection effect for steel structures exposed to marine splash zones.

The chloroplast is a pivotal organelle in plant cells and eukaryotic algae to carry out photosynthesis, which provides the primary source of the world＇s food. The expression of foreign genes in chloroplasts offers several advantages over their expression in the nucleus： high-level expression, transgene stacking in operons and a lack of epigenetic interference allowing stable transgene expression. In addition, transgenic chloroplasts are generally not transmitted through pollen grains because of the cytoplasmic localization. In the past two decades, great progress in chloroplast engineering has been made. In this paper, we review and highlight recent studies of chloroplast engineering, including chloroplast transformation procedures, controlled expression of plastid transgenes in plants, the expression of foreign genes for improvement of plant traits, the production of biopharmaceuticals, metabolic pathway engineering in plants, plastid transformation to study RNA editing, and marker gene excision system.

(GO/TiO2)N(GO represents graphene oxide,and N represents the period number of alternate superposition of two dielectrics)onedimensional photonic crystal with different lattice constants was prepared via the sol–gel technique,and its transmission characteristics for photocatalysis were tested.The results show that the lattice constant,filling ratio,number of periodic layers,and incident angle had effects on the band gap.When the lattice constant,filling ratio,number of periodic layers,and incident angle were set to 125 nm,0.45,21,and 0°,respectively,a gap width of 53 nm appeared at the central wavelength(322 nm).The absorption peak of the photocatalyst at 357 nm overlapped the blue edge of the photonic band gap.A slow photon effect region above 96%reflectivity appeared.The degradation rate of tetracycline in(GO/TiO2)N photonic crystal was enhanced to 64%within 60 min.Meanwhile,the degradation efficiency of(GO/TiO2)N one-dimensional photonic crystal was effectively improved compared with those of the GO/TiO2 composite film and GO/TiO2 powder.

Coarctation of the aorta(CoA)refers to the congenital coarctation near the isthmus,ductus arteriosus or ligamentum arteriosus,with an incidence of 5%–10%in children with congenital heart defects.[1]It can be isolated or coexisted with ventricular septal defects,subaortic stenosis,patent ductus arteriosus,and mitral aortic valve.[2]CoA has a poor prognosis.Without intervention,the median age of death with aortic coarctation is 38 years[3]and 75%death of those patients is at the age of 46 years.[4]Causes of death included congestive heart failure(26%),aortic rupture(21%),bacterial endocarditis(18%),and intracranial hemorrhage(12%).[5]Therefore,early diagnosis and optimal treatment are the key to improve the prognosis of this disease.The aim of this report is underlining the importance of early and accurate diagnose of CoA as a cause of systemic hypertension in young patients and also emphasizing the genetic factors of CoA in twins.

Background:It is currently unclear if fibrinogen is a risk factor for adverse events in patients receiving percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)or merely serves as a marker of pre-existing comorbidities and other causal factors.We therefore investigated the association between fibrinogen levels and 2-year all-cause mortality,and compared the additional predictive value of adding fibrinogen to a basic model including traditional risk factors in patients receiving contemporary PCI.Methods:A total of 6293 patients undergoing PCI with measured baseline fibrinogen levels were enrolied from January to December 2013 in Fuwai Hospital.Patients were divided into three groups according to tertiles of baseline fibrinogen levels:low fibrinogen,<2.98 g/L;medium fibrinogen,2.98 to 3.58 g/L;and high fibrinogen,≥3.58 g/L.Independent predictors of 2-year clinical outcomes were determined by multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression modeling.The increased discriminative value of fibrinogen for predicting all-cause mortality was assessed using the C-statistic and integrated discrimination improvement(IDI).Results:The 2-year all-cause mortality rate was 1.2%.It was significantly higher in the high fibrinogen compared with the low and medium fibrinogen groups according to Kaplan-Meier analyses(1.7%vs.0.9%and 1.7%vs.1.0%,respectively;log-rank,P=0.022).Fibrinogen was significantly associated with all-cause mortality according to multivariate Cox regression(hazard ratio 1.339,95%confidence interval:1.109-1.763,P=0.005),together with traditional risk factors including age,sex,diabetes mellitus,left ventricular ejection fraction,creatinine clearance,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.The area under the curve for all-cause mortality in the basic model including traditional risk factors was 0.776,and this value increased to 0.787 when fibrinogen was added to the model(IDI=0.003,Z=0.140,P=0.889).Conclusions:Fibrinogen is associated with 2-year all-cause mortality in patients receiving PCI,but provides no additional information

Background： It remains undetermined whether second-generation drug-eluting stents （G2-DESs） outperform first-generation DESs （G1-DESs） in patients with acute coronary syndrome （ACS）. We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of G I-DES and G2-DES in ACS patients in a high-volume cardiovascular center. Methods： In 2013, 10,724 consecutive patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention in our institution. We included 4037 patients with ACS who underwent exclusively GI-DES or G2-DES implantation （n - 364 and n - 3673, respectively）. We used propensity score matching to minimize the imbalance between the G1-DES and G2-DES groups and followed patients for 2 years. The efficacy endpoints were major adverse cardiac events （MACEs） and its components including target vessel-related myocardial infarction （TV-MI）, target vessel revascularization/target lesion revascularization （TVR/TLR）, and cardiac death. The safety endpoint was stent thrombosis. Continuous variables were compared by Mann-Whitney U-test, and categorical variables were compared using Pearson＇s Chisquare or Fisher＇s exact test. Kaplan-Meier curves were constructed to compare the event-free survival rates, and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used to assess whether stent type was an independent risk factor for the etticacy and safety endpoints. Results： At the 2-year lbllow-up, the results for MACE and it components, as well as stent thrombosis, were similar for GI-DES and G2-DES （MACE, 5.2% vs. 4.3%,χ^2= 0.514, P= 0.474; TV-M1, 0.8% vs. 0.4%, P 0.407; TVR, 4.9% vs. 3.7%,χ^2=0.939, P 0.333; TLR, 3.8% vs. 2.5%,χ^2=1.610, P = 0.205; cardiac death, 0.3% vs. 0.5%, P= 0.670; and stent thrombosis, 0.5% vs. 0.4%, P 〉 0.999）. Kaplan-Meier analysis indicated similar event-free survival rates between G1-DES and G2-DES alter propensity score matching （all： log-rank P〉 0.05）. The ozonolysis of cyclohexene is an important model system for understanding the more complex reaction of O_3 with monoterpenes; however, many previous studies have come to qualitatively different conclusions about the composition of the secondary organic aerosol(SOA)formed in this system. In the present study, the composition of the SOA produced by cyclohexene ozonolysis in the absence of seed aerosols has been investigated online and off-line using synchrotron-based thermal desorption/tunable vacuum ultraviolet photoionization time-of-flight aerosol mass spectrometry(TD-VUV-TOF-PIAMS) in conjunction with a custom-built smog chamber. On the basis of the molecular ions observed by mass spectrometry at 11.5 e V, it was found that dicarboxylic acids, dialdehydes, and cyclic anhydrides are the predominant low molecular weight components in the particle phase. The results also indicated that TD-VUV-TOF-PIAMS coupled with filter sampling is a potentially useful tool for the investigation of SOA composition both in the field and in the laboratory.
