Association between the cumulative triglyceride-glucose index and the recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency catheter ablation

BACKGROUND Triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index values are a new surrogate marker for insulin *** study aimed to explore the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and atrial fibrillation(AF)recurrence after radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA).METHODS A total of 576 patients with AF who underwent RFCA at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were included in this *** participants were grouped based on cumulative TyG index values tertiles within 3 months after *** regression and restricted cubic spline analyses were used to determine the relationship between cumulative TyG index values and AF *** predictive value of all risk factors was assessed by receiver operating curve *** There were 375 patients completed the study(age:63.23±10.73 years,64.27%male).The risk of AF recurrence increased with increasing cumulative TyG index values *** adjusting for potential confounders,patients in the medium cumulative TyG index group[hazard ratio(HR)=4.949,95%CI:1.778–13.778,P=0.002]and the high cumulative TyG index group(HR=8.716,95%CI:3.371–22.536,P<0.001)had a higher risk of AF recurrence than those in the low cumulative TyG index *** restricted cubic spline regression model also showed an increased risk of AF recurrence with increasing cumulative TyG index *** considering cumulative TyG index values,left atrial diameter,and lactate dehydrogenase levels as a comprehensive factor,the model could effectively predict AF recurrence after RFCA[area under the curve(AUC)=0.847,95%CI:0.797–0.897,P<0.001].CONCLUSIONS Cumulative TyG index values were a risk factor for AF recurrence after *** longitudinal TyG index values may assist with optimized for risk stratification and outcome prediction for AF recurrence.

Background Liquid xenon time projection chamber(LXe TPC)is widely used in high-energy physics experiments such as particle detection and neutrino(or neutrinoless)double beta *** charge readout accuracy of the LXeTPCdirectly affects the measurement results and success of the *** liquid xenon needs to maintain a cryogenic temperature between 162 and 165 K at atmospheric pressure,the charge generated in the LXe TPC always needs to be read out in the cryogenic environment for minimizing the input capacitance,which has effect in determining the output noise of the charge *** Design a charge readout electronics system applicable to LXe TPC and research a data analysis method to get the exact amount of charge by analyzing the waveform at that output of the designed electronics *** Design a multi-channel charge-reading application specific integrated circuit(ASIC)that can operate in the cryogenic *** signals and power supply of the ASIC are connected to an electronics system at room temperature through micro-coaxial *** electronics at room temperature complete the sampling of the ASIC output.A data acquisition device receives the sampled waveform data and calculates the charge measurement resolution by Gaussian *** The designed ASIC and selected micro-coaxial cable can work in stable condition under the cryogenic environment of 165 *** analyzed integral nonlinearity of the charge measurement of the chip is 0.83%in the range from 1 to 50 fC,and the charge measurement resolution of the chip is lower than 900 e−*** In this paper,a preliminary study of the charge readout method based on the system structure of self-developed ASIC,micro-coaxial cable,and data readout electronics is completed for LXe *** system test results indicate that the designed ASIC can work normally in the cryogenic temperature of 165 K with a high dynamic range and good linearity of the charge ***

Although DNA 5-hydroxymethylcytosine(5 hmC)is recognized as an important epigenetic mark in cancer,its precise role in lymph node metastasis remains *** this study,we investigated how 5 hmC associates with lymph node metastasis in breast *** with high expression of TET1 and TET2 proteins,large numbers of genes in the metastasis-positive primary tumors exhibit higher 5 hmC levels than those in the metastasis-negative primary *** contrast,the TET protein expression and DNA 5 hmC decrease significantly within the metastatic lesions in the lymph nodes compared to those in their matched primary *** genomewide analysis of 8 sets of primary tumors,we identified 100 high-confidence metastasis-associated5 hmC signatures,and it is found that increased levels of DNA 5 hmC and gene expression of MAP7 D1 associate with high risk of lymph node ***,we demonstrate that MAP7 D1,regulated by TET1,promotes tumor growth and *** conclusion,the dynamic5 hmC profiles during lymph node metastasis suggest a link between DNA 5 hmC and lymph node ***,the role of MAP7 D1 in breast cancer progression suggests that the metastasis-associated 5 hmC signatures are potential biomarkers to predict the risk for lymph node metastasis,which may serve as diagnostic and therapeutic targets for metastatic breast cancer.

Background： Thyrotropin-secreting pituitary adenomas （TSHomas） are a rare cause of hyperthyroidism. Somatostatin （SST） analogs work by interacting with somatostatin receptors （SSTRs）. This study aimed to evaluate short-term preoperative octreotide （OCT） use in TSHoma patients and to investigate SSTR2 and SSTR5 expression and observe structural changes in tumor tissue. Methods： We reviewed records and samples from eight TSHoma patients treated between July 2012 and July 2015. We tested immunohistochemically for SSTR2/5 expression and examined TSHoma cells for morphological changes. Signed rank sum test was used to compare the efficacy of short-term preoperative OCT treatment. Results： OCT treatment （median time： 7.9 days, range： 3-16 days; median total dose： 1.8 mg, range： 0.94.2 mg） led to significant decrease in all patients＇ thyroid hormone levels （FT3 [nmol/L]： 8.33 [7.02, 12.29] to 4.67 [3.52, 5.37] [P = 0.008]; FT4 [pmol/L]： 25.36 [21.34, 28.99] to 16.66 [14.88, 21.49] [P = 0.016]; and TSH [gU/ml]： 5.80 [4.37, 6.78] to 0.57 [0.19, 1.24] [P = 0.008]）. All the eight tumor specimens expressed high SSTR2 protein levels; 5/8 expressed high SSTRS, but 3/8 that expressed low SSTR5 presented a significantly higher TS H suppression rate （P = 0.036）. Electron microscopy showed subcellular level impairments, including clumped nuclear chromatin and reduced cytoplasmic volume. Golgi complexes were observed in the OCT-treated TSHoma specimens. Conclusions： OCT can control hormone levels and damage the ultrastructure of tumor cells and organelles. Short-term response to OCT may be related to SSTR5 expression. Preoperative SST analog treatment for TSHoma could be considered as a combination therapy.

Relative to the length and surface area of the gastrointestinal tract, malignant tumors of the small intestine are remarkably rare, with a global incidence of〈1 per 100,000 population. Among the forty different histological subtypes of small intestinal cancers, primary squamous cell carcinoma （SCC） is exceptionally rare with only occasional case reports in literature. The present study reported a case of primary SCC of the small intestine and reviewed all cases reported in English literature to provide a systematic overview of this rare disease.

The mechanical behavior of cemented gangue backfill materials(CGBMs)is closely related to particle size distribution(PSD)of aggregates and properties of cementitious ***,the true triaxial compression tests,CT scanning,SEM,and EDS tests were conducted on cemented gangue backfill samples(CGBSs)with various carbon nanotube concentrations(P_(CNT))that satisfied fractal theory for the PSD of *** mechanical properties,energy dissipations,and failure mechanisms of the CGBSs under true triaxial compression were systematically *** results indicate that appropriate carbon nanotubes(CNTs)effectively enhance the mechanical properties and energy dissipations of CGBSs through micropore filling and microcrack bridging,and the optimal effect appears at P_(CNT)of 0.08wt%.Taking PSD fractal dimension(D)of 2.500 as an example,compared to that of CGBS without CNT,the peak strength(σ_(p)),axial peak strain(ε_(1,p)),elastic strain energy(Ue),and dissipated energy(U_(d))increased by 12.76%,29.60%,19.05%,and90.39%,***,excessive CNTs can reduce the mechanical properties of CGBSs due to CNT agglomeration,manifesting a decrease inρ_(p),ε_(1,p),and the volumetric strain increment(Δε_(v))when P_(CNT)increases from 0.08wt%to 0.12wt%.Moreover,the addition of CNTs improved the integrity of CGBS after macroscopic failure,and crack extension in CGBSs appeared in two modes:detour and pass through the ***σ_(p)and U_(d)firstly increase and then decrease with increasing D,and porosity shows the opposite ***ε_(1,p)andΔε_(v)are negatively correlated with D,and CGBS with D=2.150 has the maximum deformation parameters(ε_(1,p)=0.05079,Δε_(v)=0.01990)due to the frictional slip effect caused by coarse *** increasing D,the failure modes of CGBSs are sequentially manifested as oblique shear failure,"Y-shaped"shear failure,and conjugate shear failure.

Broadband and perfect terahertz absorber based on multilayer metamaterial using cross-ring patterned structures is proposed and investigated. The structure of the absorber is double absorption layers consisting of a chromium cross ring and eight isosceles right triangles. The unique structure of the double absorbing layers excites the electric dipole multimode resonance, giving rise to high absorption performance. Meanwhile, the influence of construal parameters on absorber behavior is also discussed. The numerical results show that the absorption achieves over 90% ranging from 2.45 THz to 6.25 THz and 99% absorption in the range of 3.7—5.3 THz. The realization of broadband and perfect absorber is described using the impedance matching principle. It is obviously found that the absorber is insensitive to the high angle of incidence for both transverse electric(TE) and transverse magnetic(TM) polarizations. Compared with the former reports, this absorber has remarkable improved absorption efficiency and smaller period. The terahertz absorber may be found applications in the fields of energy capture and thermal detection.
