Thermoacoustic assessment of hematocrit changes in human forearms

Abnormal hematocrit(Hct)is associated with an increased risk of pre-hypertension and all-cause death in general population,and people with a high Hct value are susceptible to arterial cardiovascular disease and venous *** this study,we report for the first time on the ability of thermoacoustic imaging(TAI)for in vivo evaluating Hct changes in human *** vitro blood samples with different Hct values from healthy volunteers(n=3)were prepared after *** was performed using these samples in comparison with the direct measurements of *** vivo TAI was conducted in the forearm of healthy volunteers(n=7)where Hct changes were produced through a vascular occlusion stimulation over a period of *** results of in vitro blood samples obtained from the 3 healthy subjects show that the thermoacoustic(TA)signals changes due to the variation of blood conductivity are closely related to the changes in *** addition,the in vivo TA signals obtained from the 7 healthy subjects consistently increase in the artery/muscle and decrease in the vein during venous or arterial occlusion because of the changed Hct value in their *** findings suggest that TAI has the potential to become a new tool for monitoring Hct changes for a variety of pre-clinical and clinical applications.

Providing Source Code Level Portability Between CPU and GPU with MapCG

Graphics processing units （GPU） have taken an important role in the general purpose computing market in recent years. At present, the common approach to programming GPU units is to write CPU specific code with low level GPU APIs such as CUDA. Although this approach can achieve good performance, it creates serious portability issues as programmers are required to write a specific version of the code for each potential target architecture. This results in high development and maintenance costs. We believe it is desirable to have a programming model which provides source code portability between CPUs and GPUs, as well as different GPUs. This would allow programmers to write one version of the code, which can be compiled and executed on either CPUs or GPUs efficiently without modification. In this paper, we propose MapCG, a MapReduce framework to provide source code level portability between CPUs and GPUs. In contrast to other approaches such as OpenCL, our framework, based on MapReduce, provides a high level programming model and makes programming much easier. We describe the design of MapCG, including the MapReduce-style high-level programming framework and the runtime system on the CPU and GPU. A prototype of the MapCG runtime, supporting multi-core CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs, was implemented. Our experimental results show that this implementation can execute the same source code efficiently on multi-core CPU platforms and GPUs, achieving an average speedup of 1.6-2.5x over previous implementations of MapReduce on eight commonly used applications.

倾斜多孔介质方腔内纳米流体自然对流的格子Boltzmann方法模拟

利用格子玻尔兹曼方法(lattice Boltzmann method,LBM)对倾斜多孔介质方腔内Al2O3-H2O纳米流体的自然对流进行数值模拟,考虑了孔隙率(0.3≤ε≤0.9)、瑞利数(103≤Ra≤106)、纳米颗粒体积分数(0≤φ≤0.04)和倾斜角(0°≤γ≤120°)等因素的影响,研究了正弦温度分布边界条件下倾斜多孔介质方腔内纳米流体的自然对流传热机理.结果表明:若ε和γ保持不变时,随着Ra数的增大,热壁面处的平均努塞尔数(Nuave数)呈现出先减小后增大的趋势;对于给定的Ra数,当g=0°时,随着孔隙率的增大,热壁面处Nuave数逐渐增大,当γ=40°,80°和120°时,Nuave数在ε=0.7左右时达到最大值;若和Ra数保持不变,当γ=40°时,方腔内的自然对流换热效率最强,当γ=80°时热壁面自然对流换热效率被削弱.最后,研究了纳米颗粒体积份数的影响,当方腔施加一定倾角时,热壁面处的Nuave数随着纳米颗粒体积分数的增大而增大.

Slag design and optimization for iron capturing platinum group metals from alumina-based spent catalysts

Production of petrochemical catalysts accounts for one of the largest shares of platinum group metals(PGMs) consumption;thus,recycling of spent petrochemical catalysts holds great economic ***,PGMs are recovered through hydrometallurgical processes which have a low recovery efficiency and produce a large amount of *** this regard,this paper proposed a method to use iron-capturing PGMs based on CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-Na_(2)O *** method avoided the formation of Fe-Si alloy and achieved efficient enrichment of *** droplet force model showed that the recovery efficiency of PGMs could be improved if the slag had low density and low *** on this result,FactSage software optimized the composition of ***,the effect of B_(2)O_(3) on the 1400 ℃ liquidus of CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-Na_(2)O_(3)-B_(2)O_(3) phase diagram was ***,it was found that the recovery efficiency of PGMs exceeded 99% under the following optimized conditions:basicity of 1.0,20 wt%Na_(2)O,15 wt% B_(2)O_(3),15 wt% Fe,3 wt% C and a temperature range of 1400-1500℃.The thermodynamic model revealed the mechanism of iron *** chemical bonds prevented the formation of bonds between the alloy and slag,resulting in the separation of the slag from the *** particles and iron microspheres had significant surface Gibbs free *** when iron microspheres and PGMs particles collided and fused with each other to reduce their surface area could the Gibbs free energy of the system be reduced.

Determination of molecular energies via variational-based quantum imaginary time evolution in a superconducting qubit system

As a valid tool for solving ground state problems,imaginary time evolution(ITE)is widely used in physical and chemical *** ITE-based algorithms in their quantum counterpart have recently been proposed and applied to some real *** experimentally realize the variational-based quantum imaginary time evolution(QITE)algorithm to simulate the ground state energy of hydrogen(H_2)and lithium hydride(Li H)molecules in a superconducting qubit *** H_2 molecule is directly simulated using the 3-qubit circuit with unitary-coupled clusters(UCC)*** also combine QITE with the cluster mean-field(CMF)method to obtain an effective *** Li H molecule is correspondingly simulated using the 3-qubit circuit with hardware-efficient *** comparison,the Li H molecule is also directly simulated using the 4-qubit circuit with UCC ansatz at the equilibrium *** the experimental results show a convergence within 4 iterations,with high-fidelity ground state energy *** a more complex system in the future,the CMF may allow further grouping of interactions to obtain an effective Hamiltonian,then the hybrid QITE algorithm can possibly simulate a relatively large-scale system with fewer qubits.

Production of high-quality agarwood in Aquilaria sinensis trees via whole-tree agarwood-induction technology

We used whole-tree agarwood-induction technology to produce agarwood from Aquilaria sinensis trees within 20 months, and evaluated the quality of this agarwood. The results showed its characteristics were similar to those of high-grade wild agarwood in terms of texture, chemical constituents, essential oil content, and ethanol-soluble extract content, with the lattermost quality far surpassing the requirement of traditional Chinese medicine agarwood, as indicated in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010. To the best of our knowledge, this is first study to show that high-quality agarwood can be produced in whole A. sinensis trees via a chemically induced technology.

Ileal Lymphangioma Presenting with Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage： A Case Report

Introduction Lymphangioma is a rare benign tumor of lymphatic vessel origin. The tumor often appears in the head and neck region at a young age and can occasionally be found in the abdomen of adults with protean degrees of symptoms depending on the tumor size and location. How- ever, lymphangioma of the small intestine is extremely rare with only a few cases reported in the literature. As the tumor is not well-recog- nized, many patients with small intestine lymphangioma have been given an incorrect preoperative diagnosis. The ideal treatment for the disease is surgical excision, and the prognosis is comparatively good. In this paper, we report a rare case of ileal lymphangioma with gas- trointestinal hemorrhage preoperatively diagnosed using enteroscopy and treated with surgery.

Parameter Design for Time-Domain Optimization of the Fourth-Order Carrier Loop in a BDS Receiver

In the design of a bei Dou navigation satellite system(BDS) receiver, the carrier loop is largely influenced by the loop filter, and the selection of loop filter parameters is crucial to the performance of the carrier loop. In this paper, by analyzing the relationship between the parameters of the loop filter transfer function of the BDS receiver’s fourth-order carrier loop system and the time-domain index of the system, the loop filter transfer function parameters of the fourth-order system are obtained when the dynamic performance is best optimized under the condition that the maximum steady-state error is limited. The relationship between the phase margin,magnitude margin of the system and the parameters of the system transfer function is obtained through simulation experiment and theoretical derivation. The simultaneous equations of deriving the loop system transfer function parameters are given under the following conditions:the optimal phase margin and magnitude margin of the system are settled. These research results have important reference significance for the design of a high-performance BDS receiver.
