BACKGROUND There are very few cases of cardiac occluder detachment,and it is rare to completely remove the occluder using interventional methods without undergoing thoracotomy surgery after detachment.This case innovatively used ultrasound guidance combined with digital subtraction angiography(DSA)to completely remove the occluder,accumulating some experience.CASE SUMMARY The patient underwent left atrial appendage occlusion surgery in our hospital due to atrial fibrillation.After the surgery,the occluder fell off and became free in the left ventricle,which is very dangerous.We innovatively used ultrasound guidance,combined with DSA,and interventional surgery to successfully capture the free occluder using a catcher,completely remove it,and then re implant a new left atrial appendage occluder.After the surgery,the patient recovered very well.CONCLUSION The size selection of the occluder is slightly conservative,and the shape of the left atrial appendage opening is irregular.

Solar light-driven CO_(2)reduction to high value-added chemicals has considered as an outstanding way to solve energy crisis and climate warming.Recently,various photocatalysts have been developed to achieve this reaction.Among them,cobaltbased heterogeneous catalysts have attracted great interest because of their promising performance,product selectivity and stability.Herein,we systematically summarize the research progress of various cobalt-based heterogeneous catalysts for the photoreduction of CO_(2),such as single-atom cobalt,and cobalt-based oxides,nitrides,sulfi des,phosphides,metal-organic frameworks and covalent-organic frameworks.Meanwhile,the advantages and structure-activity relationship of these catalysts in photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction reaction are discussed.Finally,the challenges and prospects for constructing cobaltbased heterogeneous catalysts with high effi ciency are highlighted.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)encompasses a spectrum of liver disorders of varying severity,ultimately leading to fibrosis.This spectrum primarily consists of NAFL and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.The pathogenesis of NAFLD is closely associated with disturbances in the gut micr-obiota and impairment of the intestinal barrier.Non-gut commensal flora,particularly bacteria,play a pivotal role in the progression of NAFLD.Notably,Porphyromonas gingivalis,a principal bacterium involved in periodontitis,is known to facilitate lipid accumulation,augment immune responses,and induce insulin resistance,thereby exacerbating fibrosis in cases of periodontitis-associated NAFLD.The influence of oral microbiota on NAFLD via the“oral-gut-liver”axis is gaining recognition,offering a novel perspective for NAFLD management through microbial imbalance correction.This review endeavors to encapsulate the intricate roles of oral bacteria in NAFLD and explore underlying mechanisms,emphasizing microbial control strategies as a viable therapeutic avenue for NAFLD.

BACKGROUND This study was designed to investigate the clinical outcomes of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)in the perioperative period in elderly patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC).AIM To investigate the potential enhancement of video-assisted thoracic surgery(VATS)in postoperative recovery in elderly patients with NSCLC.METHODS We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 85 elderly NSCLC patients who underwent ERAS(the ERAS group)and 327 elderly NSCLC patients who received routine care(the control group)after VATS at the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital between May 2015 and April 2017.After propensity score matching of baseline data,we analysed the postoperative stay,total hospital expenses,postoperative 48-h pain score,and postoperative complication rate for the 2 groups of patients who underwent lobectomy or sublobar resection.RESULTS After propensity score matching,ERAS significantly reduced the postoperative hospital stay(6.96±4.16 vs 8.48±4.18 d,P=0.001)and total hospital expenses(48875.27±18437.5 vs 55497.64±21168.63 CNY,P=0.014)and improved the satisfaction score(79.8±7.55 vs 77.35±7.72,P=0.029)relative to those for routine care.No significant between-group difference was observed in postoperative 48-h pain score(4.68±1.69 vs 5.28±2.1,P=0.090)or postoperative complication rate(21.2%vs 27.1%,P=0.371).Subgroup analysis showed that ERAS significantly reduced the postoperative hospital stay and total hospital expenses and increased the satisfaction score of patients who underwent lobectomy but not of patients who underwent sublobar resection.CONCLUSION ERAS effectively reduced the postoperative hospital stay and total hospital expenses and improved the satisfaction score in the perioperative period for elderly NSCLC patients who underwent lobectomy but not for patients who underwent sublobar resection.

The beyond mean-field approach for low-lying hypernuclear states is extended by mixing the configurations associated with both single-particle and quadrupole-octupole collective excitations within the generator coordinate method based on a covariant den-sity functional theory.The method is demonstrated in the application to the low-lying states of 21ΛNe,where the configurations with theΛhyperon occupying the first(Λ_(s))and second(Λ_(p))lowest-energy states are considered.The results indicate that the positive-parity states are dominated by theα+^(12)C+α+Λ_(s) structure.In contrast,the low-lying negative-parity states are domi-nated by a strong admixture ofα+16O+Λ_(s) structure andα+12C+α+Λ_(p) structure due to the inclusion of octupole correlations.As a result,the low-lying negative-parity states become much lower than what is expected from the previous studies without the mixing,and the electric multipole transition strengths are significantly quenched.

Developing new polymeric semiconductors with excellent device performance is essential for organic electronics. Herein, we synthesized two new thiazoloisoindigo(Tz II)-based polymers, namely, P(Tz II-d Th-d Th) and P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz), by copolymerizing thiophene-flanked Tz II with bithiophene and bithiazole, respectively. Owing to the more electron-deficient nature of bithiazole than bithiophene, P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz)possesses deeper LUMO/HOMO levels of-3.45/-5.47 e V than P(Tz II-d Th-d Th)(-3.34/-5.32 e V). The organic field-effect transistor(OFET) devices based on P(Tz II-d Th-d Th) exhibited p-type behaviors with an average hole mobility value as high as 1.43 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1), while P(Tz II-d Th-d Tz)showed typical ambipolar characteristics with average hole and electron mobilities of 0.38 and 0.56 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1). In addition, we compared the performances of both polymers with other Tz II-based polymers reported in our previous work, and showed that the charge carrier polarity can be manipulated by adjusting the number of the thiophene units between the acceptor unit. As the increase of the number of thiophene rings,charge carrier polarity shifts from electron-dominated ambipolar transport to hole-dominated ambipolar transport and then to unipolar hole transport in OFETs, which provides an effective molecular design strategy for further optimization of polymer OFET performance.

Underground Thermal Energy Storage(UTES)store unstable and non-continuous energy underground,releasing stable heat energy on demand.This effectively improve energy utilization and optimize energy allocation.As UTES technology advances,accommodating greater depth,higher temperature and multi-energy complementarity,new research challenges emerge.This paper comprehensively provides a systematic summary of the current research status of UTES.It categorized different types of UTES systems,analyzes the applicability of key technologies of UTES,and evaluate their economic and environmental benefits.Moreover,this paper identifies existing issues with UTES,such as injection blockage,wellbore scaling and corrosion,seepage and heat transfer in cracks,etc.It suggests deepening the research on blockage formation mechanism and plugging prevention technology,improving the study of anticorrosive materials and water treatment technology,and enhancing the investigation of reservoir fracture network characterization technology and seepage heat transfer.These recommendations serve as valuable references for promoting the high-quality development of UTES.

Chemical fixation of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))is an energy-saving method for alleviating the greenhouse gas emissions,whereas it persists a challenge posed by the demand for efficient catalysts.Herein,four unprecedented examples of tetradecanuclear vanadium clusters,namely,[(C_(2)H_(8)N_(2))6(CH_(3)O)8(CH_(3)OH)_(2)V_(10)^(Ⅳ)V_(4)ⅤO_(26)](V_(14)-1),[(C_(3)H_(10)N_(2))_(6)(CH_(3)O)_(8)(CH_(3)OH)_(2)V_(10)^(Ⅳ)V_(4)ⅤO_(26)](V14^(-2)),[(C_(6)H_(14)N_(2))6(CH_(3)O)8(CH_(3)OH)_(2)V_(10)^(Ⅳ)V_(4)ⅤO_(26)]·5H_(2)O(V14^(-3))and[(C_(4)H_(12)N_(2)O)_(4)(C_(4)H_(11)N_(2)O)_(2)(CH_(3)O)_(2)V_(10)^(Ⅳ)V_(4)ⅤO_(28)]·6H_(2)O(V_(14)-4),have been triumphantly designed and constructed under solvothermal conditions.Among them,compounds V_(14)-1–4 are the first cases of tetradecanuclear vanadium clusters without the introduction of inorganic acid radical ions.Two main units[V_(10)^(Ⅳ)V_(4)ⅤO_(26)]8+and[V10ⅣV4ⅤO28]4+represent brand-new configurations of tetradecanuclear vanadium clusters.Given the fact that the presence of V^(Ⅳ)/V^(Ⅴ)can potentially facilitate electron transfer and consequently expedite catalytic reactions,we explored the catalytic activities of these compounds.Remarkably,V_(14)-1 was further used as a heterogeneous catalyst in the CO_(2)fixation into cyclic carbonates under milder conditions(60℃,0.5 MPa)and exhibited higher catalytic activity.Also,the experimental results indicated that V_(14)-1 could efficiently catalyze the sulfoxidation,which could fully convert most sulfides within 40 min at room temperature.Moreover,as a stable heterogeneous catalyst employed in CO_(2)fixation with epoxides and oxidation of sulfides,V_(14)-1 could be consecutively used multiple cycles without losing its catalytic activity.

BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)is often accompanied by impaired glucose utilization in the brain,leading to oxidative stress,neuronal cell injury and inflammation.Previous studies have shown that duodenal jejunal bypass(DJB)surgery significantly improves brain glucose metabolism in T2DM rats,the role and the metabolism of DJB in improving brain oxidative stress and inflammation condition in T2DM rats remain unclear.AIM To investigate the role and metabolism of DJB in improving hypothalamic oxidative stress and inflammation condition in T2DM rats.METHODS A T2DM rat model was induced via a high-glucose and high-fat diet,combined with a low-dose streptozotocin injection.T2DM rats were divided into DJB operation and Sham operation groups.DJB surgical intervention was carried out on T2DM rats.The differential expression of hypothalamic proteins was analyzed using quantitative proteomics analysis.Proteins related to oxidative stress,inflammation,and neuronal injury in the hypothalamus of T2DM rats were analyzed by flow cytometry,quantitative real-time PCR,Western blotting,and immunofluorescence.RESULTS Quantitative proteomics analysis showed significant differences in proteins related to oxidative stress,inflammation,and neuronal injury in the hypothalamus of rats with T2DM-DJB after DJB surgery,compared to the T2DM-Sham groups of rats.Oxidative stress-related proteins(glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor,Nrf2,and HO-1)were significantly increased(P<0.05)in the hypothalamus of rats with T2DM after DJB surgery.DJB surgery significantly reduced(P<0.05)hypothalamic inflammation in T2DM rats by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and decreasing the expression of interleukin(IL)-1βand IL-6.DJB surgery significantly reduced(P<0.05)the expression of factors related to neuronal injury(glial fibrillary acidic protein and Caspase-3)in the hypothalamus of T2DM rats and upregulated(P<0.05)the expression of neuroprotective factors(C-fos,Ki67,Bcl-2,and BDNF),thereby reducing hypothalamic injury in T2DM rats.CONCLUSION DJB surge
