Interleukin-6 polymorphisms modify the risk of periodontitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis

In this paper, we address the problem of global practical tracking by output feedback for a class of nonlinear timedelay systems. The time-delay system under consideration satisfies linear growth condition on unmeasured states with an output dependent incremental rate. By using the dynamic gain scaling technique, a memoryless output feedback tracking controller is developed. With a modified Lyapunov function and appropriate Krasovskii functionals, we show that the output tracking error converges to an arbitrarily small residual set while all the states of the close loop system are bounded.

Objective： To clarify the association ofIL-6 polymorphisms and periodontitis, a meta-analysis of case-control studies and a systemic review were conducted. Material and methods： We performed a literature search using PubMed and Medline database to May 2009, with no restrictions. We also reviewed references from all retrieved articles. Six case-control studies involving 1093 periodontitis cases and 574 controls were selected for meta-analysis to assess the purported associations between IL-6 polymorphisms and the risk of periodontitis. IL-6 -174 G/C and -572 C/G polymorphisms were included in the present meta-analysis, and the association between IL-6 -6331 TIC polymorphism and the risk of periodontitis was adequately reviewed as well. Results and conclusion： The present meta-analysis indicates that the IL-6 -174 G allele could not modify the risk of chronic periodontitis, but increased the risk of aggressive periodontitis. And -572 C/G polymorphism is associated with the pathogenesis of periodontitis, including chronic periodontitis or aggressive periodontitis.

Tight oil and gas in the Cretaceous has been found in the Liuhe Basin,but the rules of tight reservoir and oil and gas accumulation are not *** paper discusses the developmental characteristics and evolution law of pores and fractures in the Cretaceous tight reservoir in the Liuhe Basin,and reveals its controlling effect on tight oil and gas *** results show that intercrystalline pores,intergranular pores and dissolution pores are scattered and only developed in shallow tight reservoirs,while microfractures are developed in both shallow and deep layers,which are the main type of reservoir space in the study *** results of mercury intrusion porosimetry and nitrogen gas adsorption show that with the increase of depth,the proportion of macropores(microcracks)increases,while the proportion of micropores *** are two stages of microfractures developed in the study area,corresponding to the initial fault depression stage from late Jurassic to early late Cretaceous and compressional uplift at the end of late *** to the principle of“inversion and back-stripping method”,combined with the data of optical microscopy and inclusions,the time of each key diagenesis and its contribution to porosity are revealed,and the porosity evolution history of reservoirs in different diagenetic stages is quantitatively *** porosity reduction rate of compaction can reach more than 80%,which is the main reason for reservoir *** relationship between pore evolution history and oil and gas accumulation history reveals that during the oil and gas filling period of the Xiahuapidianzi Formation(90-85 Ma),the reservoir porosity is only 1.15%,but the development of microfractures in the first stage of the reservoir is conducive to oil and gas accumulation.

Testicular cancer （TC） is the most curable type of cancer, with a survival rate of more than 95%. Oncologists are faced with the challenge that gonadotoxic cancer treatments can compromise future fertility, either temporarily or permanently. Our aim was to investigate the long-term effects of TC treatments on male fertility and on the offspring of patients who had received these treatments. Between January 1996 and December 2010, 125 eligible patients, ranging from 18 to 54 years （median age 36.3 _＋ 15.7）, with unilateral TC underwent surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy at our center. Some of these patients had their semen samples cryopreserved in the Shanghai Human Sperm Bank. The clinical data were evaluated, and questionnaire and telephone follow-up surveys were given to all patients. The data were analyzed to determine the patients＇ fertility status pre- and posttreatment. Of the 125 eligible patients, 93.6% （117/125） were accessible and were evaluated. Among 81 men who were married before diagnosis, 21 had conceived successfully before diagnosis and six reported azoospermia. Posttreatment conception was attempted by 73 men; of these, 16 conceived naturally and 19 conceived by artificial reproductive techniques, resulting in 37 healthy babies with no congenital malformations. Of the patients who had not conceived before treatment, 21.9% （21/96） banked their sperm and 23.8% of these patients （5/21） subsequently used the banked sperm. Retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, chemotherapy and radiotherapy were the most highly correlated with lack of conception to TC patients with the desire for biological conception. We have demonstrated a high perlbrmance top-emitting organic light-emitting diode （TEOLED） achieving a brightness of 1000 cd/m^2 at a low voltage of 3.4 V, a power efficiency of 55.2 lm/W at a brightness of 611cd/m^2. and a low efficiency roll-off 5.1% calculated from the maximum efficiency value to that of 5000 cd/m^2. Such im- proved properties are controlled by electron injection from 7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline （BPhen） into and trans- port by the 2,4,6-tris[3＇-（pyridin-3-yl）biphenyl-3-yl]-l,3,5-triazine （TmPPPyTz） layer along with hole injection from 4,4＇,4＂-tris（N-carbazolyl）diphenylamine （TcTa） directly into the fac-tris（2-phenylpyridine）iridium [lr（ppy）3] highest occupied molecular level （HOMO）, leading to direct carrier recombination and excitons formation on the phosphor dopants. Eventually we integrated our high performance TEOLEDs on complementary metal oxide semi- conductor （CMOS） substrates to realize super video graphics array （SVGA） OLED microdisplays.

Agricultural drought threatens food *** remote-sensing drought indices have been developed,but their different principles,assumptions and physical quantities make it necessary to compare their suitability for drought monitoring over large ***,we analyzed the performance of three typical remote sensing-based drought indices for monitoring agricultural drought in two major agricultural production regions in Shaanxi and Henan provinces,northern China(predominantly rain-fed and irrigated agriculture,respectively):vegetation health index(VHI),temperature vegetation dryness index(TVDI)and drought severity index(DSI).We compared the agreement between these indices and the standardized precipitation index(SPI),soil moisture,winter wheat yield and National Meteorological Drought Monitoring(NMDM)*** average,DSI outperformed the other indices,with stronger correlations with SPI and soil *** also corresponded better with soil moisture and NMDM *** jointing and grain-filling stages of winter wheat are more sensitive to water stress,indicating that winter wheat required more water during these ***,the correlations between the drought indices and SPI,soil moisture,and winter wheat yield were generally stronger in Shaanxi province than in Henan province,suggesting that remote-sensing drought indices provide more accurate predictions of the impacts of drought in predominantly rain-fed agricultural areas.
