Pd single atoms cooperate with S vacancies in ZnIn_(2)S_(4) nanosheets for photocatalytic pure-water splitting

Photocatalytic water splitting has emerged as a new frontier for converting solar energy to green H_(2) and value-added ***,great challenges still remain for developing efficient photocatalysts for pure water splitting without sacrificial *** this work,we demonstrate that doping hexagonal ZnIn_(2)S_(4)(ZIS) with Pd single atoms(Pd_(0.03)/ZIS) can serve as a highly efficient photocatalyst for pure water splitting to simultaneously produce H_(2) and H_(2)O_(2) without any sacrificial *** from aberration-corrected high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy,X-ray fine spectroscopy,insitu electron paramagnetic resonance and diffuse Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy reveal that doping ZIS with Pd single atoms facilitates the formation of S vacancies(S_(v)),where the photogenerated electrons can transfer to Pd single atoms,as a result of enhanced separation of electron-hole pairs and improved photocatalytic ***,Pd_(0.03)/ZIS displays a stoichiometric ratio of H_(2) and H_(2)O_(2) with the productivity of 1,037.9 and 1,021.4μmol g^(-1)h^(-1),respectively,which has largely outperformed pure ZIS and other reported catalysts for pure water *** work provides an efficient photocatalyst for water splitting to produce H_(2) and H_(2)O_(2),which may attract rapid interest in materials science,chemistry,and heterogeneous catalysis.

Proppant transport in rough fracture networks using supercritical CO_(2)

Proppant transport within fractures is one of the most critical tasks in oil,gas and geothermal reservoir stimulation,as it largely determines the ultimate performance of the operating *** transport in rough fracture networks is still a relatively new area of research and the associated transport mechanisms are still *** this study,representative parameters of rough fracture surfaces formed by supercritical CO_(2) fracturing were used to generate a rough fracture network model based on a spectral synthesis *** fluid dynamics(CFD)coupled with the discrete element method(DEM)was used to study proppant transport in this rough fracture *** reveal the turning transport mechanism of proppants into branching fractures at the intersections of rough fracture networks,a comparison was made with the behavior within smooth fracture networks,and the effect of key pumping parameters on the proppant placement in a secondary fracture was *** results show that the transport behavior of proppant in rough fracture networks is very different from that of the one in the smooth fracture *** turning transport mechanisms of proppant into secondary fractures in rough fracture networks are gravity-driven sliding,high velocity fluid suspension,and fracture structure *** the same injection conditions,supercritical CO_(2)with high flow Reynolds number still has a weaker ability to transport proppant into secondary fractures than *** of the supercritical CO_(2)needs to be increased beyond a certain value to have a significant effect on proppant carrying,and under the temperature and pressure conditions of this paper,it needs to be increased more than 20 times(about 0.94 m Pa s).Increasing the injection velocity and decreasing the proppant concentration facilitates the entry of proppant into the branching fractures,which in turn results in a larger stimulated reservoir *** results help to understand the pro

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is the fifth most common and the fourth most lethal malignant tumour in the *** patients are already in the advanced stage when they are diagnosed,which also leads to poor overall *** effect of posto-perative adjuvant chemotherapy for advanced GC is unsatisfactory with a high rate of distant metastasis and local *** To investigate the safety and efficacy of a programmed cell death 1(PD-1)inhibitor combined with oxaliplatin and S-1(SOX)in the treatment of Borrmann large type III and IV *** A retrospective analysis(IRB-2022-371)was performed on 89 patients with Borrmann large type III and IV GCs who received neoadjuvant therapy(NAT)from January 2020 to December *** to the different neoadjuvant treatment regimens,the patients were divided into the SOX group(61 patients)and the PD-1+SOX(P-SOX)group(28 patients).RESULTS The pathological response(tumor regression grade 0/1)in the P-SOX group was significantly higher than that in the SOX group(42.86%vs 18.03%,P=0.013).The incidence of ypN0 in the P-SOX group was higher than that in the SOX group(39.29%vs 19.67%,P=0.05).The use of PD-1 inhibitors was an independent factor affecting tumor regression ***,the use of PD-1 did not increase postoperative complications or the adverse effects of *** A PD-1 inhibitor combined with SOX could significantly improve the rate of tumour regression during NAT for patients with Borrmann large type III and IV GCs.

背景:传统钢板置入内固定治疗胫骨远端骨折过程中为保证骨折解剖复位,需广泛剥离骨膜直接暴露骨折端,常造成伤口愈合不良、感染和骨延迟愈合等不良后果。目的:观察经皮微创锁定加压钢板置入内固定治疗胫骨远端骨折的效果。方法:选择新鲜胫骨远端骨折患者32例,男26例,女6例,年龄18～76岁,均采取闭合复位,小切口手术入路置入胫骨远端锁定加压钢板置入内固定治疗。置入后随访行X射线检查,采用Johner-Wruhs评分评估治疗效果。结果与结论:30例平均随访16个月,骨折均获愈合,临床平均愈合时间14周;其中外踝手术切口浅表感染2例,皮肤刺激症状4例,螺钉断裂1例(术前X射线片无法诊断断裂),钢板远端断裂1例,腓浅神经损伤1例。按Johner-Wruhs评分法,功能优22例,良6例,中2例,优良率为93%。说明经皮微创锁定加压钢板置入内固定治疗胫骨远端骨折创伤小、不良反应少、固定牢固、骨折愈合率高、符合生物学固定原则。

Casual associations between blood metabolites and colon cancer

Enhancing the electrochemical performance of Na metal anodes via local eutectic melting in porous Al-Cu alloy hosts

Sodium(Na)metal batteries(SMBs)have emerged as promising alternatives to lithium metal batteries for large-scale energy storage applications,owing to their cost-effectiveness,abundance,and favorable redox ***,the practical implementation of SMBs faces several challenges associated with the Na metal anode,including the formation of dendrites,low Coulombic efficiency,and capacity ***,we propose a novel approach to enhance the electrochemical performance of Na metal anodes through a porous Al-Cu alloy host(PAC)fabricated by a local eutectic melting *** local eutectic melting facilitates the development of a conductive network,offering mechanical support,and the porous structure provides abundant channels for the diffusion of Na ions and accommodates volume fluctuations in the Na metal during charge–discharge ***,the PAC exhibits a high average Coulombic efficiency of 99.8%at 1 mA·cm^(−2)for 1 mAh·cm^(−2)and a low voltage polarization of 19 mV during 500 *** study provides valuable insight into the design and fabrication of highperformance Na metal anodes,which hold significant promise for the advancements of next-generation energy storage systems.

Developing electrocatalysts with fast kinetics and long-term stability for alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)is of considerable importance for the industrial production of green and sustainable ***,an ultrathin Ir-Sb nanowires(Ir-Sb NWs)protected by antimony oxides(SbO_(x))was synthesized as an efficient bifunctional catalyst for both HOR and HER under alkaline *** from the much higher mass activities of Ir-Sb nanowires than those of Ir nanowires(Ir NWs)and commercial Pt/C,the SbO_(x) protective layer also contributes to the maintenance of morphology and anti-CO poisoning ability,leading to the long-term cycling performance in the presence of ***,the Ir-Sb NW/SbO_(x) exhibits the highest catalytic activities,which are about 3.5 and 4.8 times to those of Ir NW/C and commercial Pt/C toward HOR,*** work provides that the ultrathin morphology and H_(2)O-occupied Sb sites can exert the intrinsic high activity of Ir and effectively optimize the absorption of OH*both in alkaline HER/HOR electrolysis.

Multiple myeloma(MM)is the second most prevalent hematological *** MM treatment strategies are hampered by systemic toxicity and suboptimal therapeutic *** study addressed these limitations through the development of a potent MM-targeting chemotherapy strategy,which capitalized on the high binding affinity of alendronate for hydroxyapatite in the bone matrix and the homologous targeting of myeloma cell membranes,termed T-PB@*** results from our investigations highlight the considerable bone affinity of T-PB@M,both in vitro and in ***,this material demonstrated a capability for drug release triggered by low pH ***,T-PB@M induced the generation of reactive oxygen species and triggered cell apoptosis through the poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase 1(PARP1)-Caspase-3-B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)pathway in MM ***,T-PB@M preferentially targeted bone-involved sites,thereby circumventing systemic toxic side effects and leading to prolonged survival of MM orthotopic ***,this designed target-MM nanocarrier presents a promising and potentially effective platform for the precise treatment of MM.

Radiotherapy enhances efficacy of PD-1 inhibitors in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma:A propensity-matched real-world study

Background:To address the need for immunotherapy in patients with advanced primary hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),combination with radiotherapy(RT)has emerged as a promising *** preclinical studies,irradiated tumors released tumor antigens to synergistically increase the antitumor effect of ***,we investigated whether RT enhances the efficacy of anti-programmed death receptor-1(PD-1)inhibitors in advanced HCC in real-world ***:Between August 2018 and June 2021,172 patients with advanced primary HCC were enrolled in the tertiary center(Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University);95 were treated with a combination of RT and the inhibitor of PD-1(RT-PD1 cohort),and 77 were administered anti-PD-1 therapy(PD1 cohort).The first cycle of PD-1 inhibitors was administered within 60 days or concurrently with *** score matching for bias reduction was used to evaluate the clinical ***:Among 71 propensity-matched pairs,median progression-free survival was 5.7 months in the RT-PD1 cohort vs.2.9 months in the PD1 cohort(P<0.001).Median overall survival was 20.9 months in the RT-PD1 cohort vs.11.2 months in the PD1 cohort(P=0.018).Compared with patients in the PD1 cohort,patients in the RT-PD1 cohort had significantly higher objective response rates(40.8%,29/71 vs.19.7%,14/71,P=0.006)and disease control rates(62.0%,44/71 vs.31.0%,22/71,P<0.001).The incidences of toxic effects were not significantly different between the two ***:RT plus anti-PD-1 therapy is well *** enhances the efficacy of anti-PD-1 therapy in patients with advanced primary HCC by improving survival outcomes without increased toxic effects.
