Growing evidence suggests that the transforming growth factor 0 (TGF-b.ta) signaling pathway occupies a central position in the signaling networks that control cell growth and differentiation。TGF-b.ta 1 and its receptor TGF-b.ta RII have b.en correlated with the development of certain forms of cancer, including gastric cancer。We hypothesiz.d that functional genetic variants in TGFb. and TGFb.2 are associated with gastric cancer risk。

Compared to conventional electrocatalytic water splitting,electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)along with hydrogen production is considered a more energy-efficient ***,we prepared a type of novel quaternary alloy catalyst(PtAuCuNi@NF)that exhib.ts excellent activity for EOR(0.215 V at 10 mA cm^(-2))and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)(7 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)).Experimental results demonstrated that b.th Cu and Ni modulated the electronic environment around Pt and *** electron-rich active center facilitates the rapid adsorption and dissociation of reactants and intermediates for b.th EOR and ***,in the ethanol-assisted overall water splitting(E-OWS),a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)was achieved at 0.28 ***,an advanced acid-b.se self-powered system(A-b.ps)that can achieve a self-powered voltage of 0.59 V was ***,the self-driven hydrogen production with z.ro external power supply was realiz.d b. integrating A-b.ps with the E-OWS *** interesting results can provide a feasib.e strategy for designing and developing advanced nanoalloy-b.sed materials for clean energy integration and use in various fields.

One of the largest sub.amilies within the famous Daphniphyllum alkaloid family is made up of the yuz.rimine-type(or macrodaphniphyllamine-type) alkaloids. Their complex az.-polycyclic caged structures, several contiguous stereogenic centers, and vicinal all-carb.n quaternary centers make these alkaloids formidab.e challenge for synthetic chemists. Recently, synthesis of these alkaloids has received extensive attention from our community. Herein, we wish to report the total synthesis of C_(14)–epideoxycalyciphylline H, a putative memb.r of yuz.rimine-type alkaloid sub.amily. Key transformations employed in our approach include an intramolecular Prins reaction and a Pd-catalyz.d enyne cycloisomeriz.tion. In addition, synthesis of a daphnez.mine L-type alkaloid, paxdaphnidine A, was also studied.

Scientific computing lib.aries,whether in-house or open-source,have witnessed enormous progress in b.th engineering and scientific ***,it is important to ensure that modifications to the source code,prompted b. b.g fixing or new feature development,do not compromise the accuracy and functionality that have b.en already validated and *** paper introduces a method for estab.ishing and implementing an automatic regression test environment,using the open-source multi-physics lib.ary SPHinXsys as an illustrative ***,a reference datab.se for each b.nchmark test is generated from ob.erved data across multiple *** comprehensive datab.se encapsulates the maximum variation range of metrics for different strategies,including the time-averaged,ensemb.e-averaged,and dynamic time warping *** accounts for uncertainties arising from parallel computing,particle relaxation,physical instab.lities,and ***,new results ob.ained after source code modifications undergo testing b.sed on a curve-similarity comparison against the reference *** the source code is updated,the regression test is automatically executed for all test cases,providing a comprehensive assessment of the validity of the current *** regression test environment has b.en successfully implemented in all dynamic test cases within SPHinXsys,including fluid dynamics,solid mechanics,fluid-structure interaction,thermal and mass diffusion,reaction-diffusion,and their multi-physics couplings,and demonstrates rob.st capab.lities in testing different *** is noted that while the current test environment is b.ilt and implemented for a particular scientific computing lib.ary,its underlying principles are generic and can b. easily adapted for use with other lib.aries,achieving equal effectiveness.

Epidermal growth factor (EGF), a ligand of the EGF receptor, plays a critical role in the development of gastric cancer. Genetic variants in its promoter region may influence transcription activity and contrib.te to gastric cancer predisposition. To test this hypothesis, we genotyped three EGF promoter polymorphisms(G61A, G-1380A, and A-1744G) in a case-control study of 675 gastric cancer cases and 704 cancer-free controls. We found that the variant genotypes of EGF 61GA/AA were associated with a significantly decreased risk of gastric cancer(OR = 0.77, 95% CI = 0.61-0.95 ), when compared with wild-type homoz.gote 61GG. In the comb.ned analysis with all three loci of EGF, sub.ects carrying one or more variant loci had a significantly decreased risk of gastric cancer in a dose-response manner (adjusted OR = 0.58, 95% CI = 0.42-0.80 for sub.ects carrying one variant locus and OR =0.46,
