Viscosity and structure relationship with equimolar substitution of CaO with MgO in the CaO–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)slag melts

Currently,the Al_(2)O_(3)content in the high-alumina slag systems within blast furnaces is generally limited to 16wt%–18.5wt%,making it challenging to overcome this *** most studies that concentrated on managing the MgO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio or basicity,this paper explored the effect of equimolar substitution of MgO for CaO on the viscosity and structure of a high-alumina CaO-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)slag system,providing theoretical guidance and data to facilitate the application of high-alumina *** results revealed that the viscosity first decreased and then increased with higher MgO substitution,reaching a minimum at 15mol%MgO *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)results found that the depths of the troughs representing[SiO_(4)]tetrahedra,[AlO_(4)]tetrahedra,and Si-O-Al bending became progressively deeper with increased MgO *** of the Raman spectra showed that the average number of bridging oxygens per Si atom and the X_(Q^(3))/X_(Q^(2))(X_(Q^(i))is the molar fraction of Q^(i) unit,and i is the number of bridging oxygens in a[SiO_(4)]tetrahedral unit)ratio increased from 2.30 and 1.02 to 2.52 and 2.14,respectively,indicating a progressive polymerization of the silicate structure.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results highlighted that non-bridging oxygen content decreased from 77.97mol% to 63.41mol% with increasing MgO concentration,whereas bridging oxygen and free oxygen contents *** analysis demonstrated a gradual increase in the polymerization degree of the tetrahedral structure with the increase in MgO ***,bond strength is another important factor affecting the slag *** occurrence of a viscosity minimum can be attributed to the complex evolution of bond strengths of non-bridging oxygens generated during depolymerization of the[SiO_(4)]and[AlO_(4)]tetrahedral structures by CaO and MgO.

Interfacial Zn2+-solvation regulator towards reversible and stable Zn anode

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries （AZIBs） are fundamentally challenged by the instability of the electrode/electrolyte interface,predominantly due to irreversible zinc （Zn） deposition and hydrogen ***,the intricate mechanisms behind the electrochemical discrepancies induced by interfacial Zn2+-solvation and deposition behavior demand comprehensive *** molecules endowed with special functional groups （such as hydroxyl,carboxyl,etc.） have the potential to significantly optimize the solvation structure of Zn2+and regulate the interfacial electric double layer （EDL）.By increasing nucleation overpotential and decreasing interfacial free energy,these functional groups facilitate a lower critical nucleation radius,thereby forming an asymptotic nucleation model to promote uniform Zn ***,this study presents a pioneering approach by introducing trace amounts of n-butanol as solvation regulators to engineer the homogenized Zn （H-Zn） anode with a uniform and dense *** interfacial reaction and structure evolution are explored by in/ex-situ experimental techniques,indicating that the H-Zn anode exhibits dendrite-free growth,no by-products,and weak hydrogen evolution,in sharp contrast to the bare ***,the H-Zn anode achieves a remarkable Zn utilization rate of approximately 20% and simultaneously sustains a prolonged cycle life exceeding 500 ***,the H-Zn//NH4V4O10（NVO） full battery showcases exceptional cycle stability,retaining 95.04%capacity retention after 400 cycles at a large current density of 5 A *** study enlightens solvation-regulated additives to develop Zn anode with superior utilization efficiency and extended operational lifespan.

Objective Diabetes mellitus(DM) is currently a major global health problem which is associated with the development of cognitive dysfunction. Although there are clinical drugs for hyperglycemia at present, safe and more effective therapeutic intervention strategies for diabetic cognitive impairments are still needed. Recently, several studies have indicated that a novel class of branched palmitic acid esters of hydroxy stearic acids(PAHSAs) may have anti-diabetes and anti-inflammatory effects in insulin-resistant mice, here, we aimed to investigate whether one of the PAHSAs, 9-PAHSA attenuates DM-associated cognitive dysfunction in db/db mice. Methods Twenty-eight weeks-old male db/db transgenic mice(50 ± 5 g) were randomly divided into diabetic control group(db/db-control)(n=15) and diabetes+9-PAHSA treatment group(db/db+9-PAHSA)(n=15). The 28 weeks-old male littermate db/m(30 ± 5 g) mice were served as the solvent control group(db/m-control)(n=15). 9-PAHSA was intragastrically administrated daily(45 mg/kg/day) from week 28 to 32 after birth. Ymaze Test and Social Choice Test were performed to assess the cognitive capacities. Immunofluorescence staining and western blot analysis were performed to detect the expression and distribution of CD31, BDNF and NRSF/REST in the brain tissue of mice. Results(1) 9-PAHSA mildly prevented deficits in spatial working memory in Y-maze test, and reversed the preference bias toward novel mice in Social choice test(P>0.05, ***/db-control mice).(2) 9-PAHSA intervention remarkably increased DM-induced reduction of CD31 fluorescence signals in hippocampus(P<0.05) and frontal cortex(P<0.01).(3) 9-PAHSA treatment significantly upregulated the expression of BDNF, whereas downregulated the expression of NRSF/REST in both hippocampus and cortex(P<0.05). Conclusion Exogenous delivery of 9-PAHSA could to some extent improve the DM-associated cognition impairments and brain vascular disorders. These protective effects are possibly related to

Objective A large number of studies have discovered that ginkgo biloba extract 761(EGB761) can relieve cognition, dementia, and cerebrovascular diseasesrelated symptoms. However, it has just been claimed as a drug candidate for compensatory treatment in clinic so far. In order to clarify the medicinal value of EGB761 on stroke, the precise mechanisms underlying still need to be investigated. The present study was to observe whether EGB761 modulates the autophagic flux in SHSY5 Y cells under oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD) treatment. Methods The experimental groups included normal control group, OGD group and OGD+EGB761 group. Cells subjected to OGD were cultured in sugar-and-serum-free medium with 5% CO/95% O for up to 4 hours. EGB761(200 μg/ml) was given immediately after OGD treatment. The cell viability was determined by measuring the level of lactate dehydrogenase in each group. The expression levels of autophagy and apoptosis-related proteins were observed by Western blot analysis. The level of apoptosis was also detected by TUNEL staining. Results(1) Treatment with EGB761 for 18 h significantly increased cell viability when compared with OGD group(P <0.001).(2) OGD exposure could remarkably increase the protein expression of NF-κB p65, p-AKT, BECN1 and LC3, and decreased SQSTM1/p62 expression. After EGB761 treatment, the protein levels of NF-κB p65(P<0.01) and BECN1(P <0.05) was significantly decreased, while the level of SQSTM1/p62 was increased(P <0.05). Meanwhile, OGD exposure could remarkably increase the ratio of TUNEL cells and P53 protein expression. After EGB761 treatment, both were decreased(P<0.05).(3) When NF-κB inhibitor SN-50 was applied, the effects of EGB761 were attenuated. Conclusion EGB761 may protect neurons from ischemic injury, in part, by reduce the upregulated autophagic flux which is induced by OGD treatment.

Objective To observe whether ginkgo biloba extract 761（EGb761） could exert preventive interventions on elderly diabetic mice with cerebral small vessel disease and to explore the role of Beclin1 mediated autophagy in the above mechanisms. Methods 2-month-old male dbdb diabetic mice and WT mice were divided into six groups including dbdb group, dbdb-EGb761-50 mg group,dbdb-EGb761-100 mg group, WT group, WTEGb761-50 mg group and WT-EGb761-100 mg group, which firstly were given normal diets within four consecutive months, then given EGb-761 drops（50 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg） by gavage for one month from the age of six months. The cognitive abilities were examined when they were eight months old by using Y-maze（spatial learning and memory test） and Social Choice Test（non-spatial learning and memory test）. The blood pressure changes in caudal vein were measured by using the small animal blood pressure meter. Small animal MRI analysis was adopted to detect blood oxygen level dependent（f MRI-bold） change. The expression and distribution of Beclin1, LC3 and NF-κB were detected by using immunohistochemistry staining and Western-blot analysis. Results: 1. Compared with WT mice, the ability of learning and memory and overall cognitive function of dbdb mice decreased（P＜0.05）, and the EGb761 could improve obviously learning and memory function of dbdb mice（P＜0.05）. 2. EGb761 could improve slightly blood pressure in dbdb mice（P＜0.05）, but no dose-related. 3. Compared with the WT group, the result of f MRI-bold showed a decline in brain activity in the hippocampus in dbdb group which accompanied with decreasing connection with the surrounding brain regions. EGb761 could exert obvious improvement on the above changes. 4. Significant cell degeneration occurred in the brain of dbdb mice, e.g. brain cells decrease, nuclear condensation and cytoplasmic unevenness. 5. Polybenzimidazolium-reinforced polyimide separators to inhibit dendrites for high-security lithium-ion batteries

Lithium dendrite formation poses a significant safety hazard in lithium-ion batteries（LIBs）, severely impeding their widespread adoption and further technological advancements. Here, we present a novel quaternized polybenzimidazolium（q-PBI） to armor polyimide（PI） nanofiber separator（q-PBI@PI）, in which the q-PBI containing lithiophilicity and anionphilicity sites serves as the multifunctional nano-layers to suppress the Li dendrite and reinforce the mechanical properties of PI nanofiber ***, the q-PBI@PI separator displays an unprecedented mechanical strength of 82.8 MPa, significantly outperforming previously reported PI nanofiber membranes（typically below 50.0 MPa）. Besides, we demonstrate that the q-PBI@PI separator simultaneously possesses low nucleation overpotential（59 mV） and exceptional average coulombic efficiency due to the suppression of Li dendrite. Importantly, q-PBI@PI-based Li||Li battery enables a stable Li plating-stripping at 1.0 m A cm-2for600 h. Attributing to these exceptional merits, the armored PI separator-based LIBs display remarkable specific capability and capacity retention. The density function theory calculations reveal that q-PBI is conducive to the desolvation of Li+and can immobilize Li+and PF6-ions near affinity sites of PI nanofibers for inhibiting the formation of Li dendrites. Our work paves a new avenue for the design of next-generation high-performing separators in LIBs.

Three-dimensional atom-probe tomography and first-principles calculation combined with density functional theory were used to study the effect of the co-segregation of different elements formed during the solidification process of S32205 duplex stainless steel on the Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and *** was found that the co-segregation of different elements formed during the solidification process of duplex stainless steel can also form Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and ***,Mo,Si,B,C and P atoms promote co-segregation with Cr atoms,which promotes the formation of Cr-depleted zone at the interface between ferrite and austenite in duplex stainless *** and Si strongly promote the segregation of Cr at the interface between ferrite and austenite,thereby promoting the formation of Cr-depleted zone.B,C and P elements also promote the segregation of Cr element at the interface between ferrite and austenite and the formation of Cr-depleted zone,but their effect is weaker than that of Mo and Si *** conclusions provide a new theoretical basis for improving the intergranular corrosion performance of duplex stainless steel.

Pure quantum gradient descent algorithm and full quantum variational eigensolver

Optimization problems are prevalent in various fields,and the gradient-based gradient descent algorithm is a widely adopted optimization ***,in classical computing,computing the numerical gradient for a function with variables necessitates at least d+1 function evaluations,resulting in a computational complexity of O(d).As the number of variables increases,the classical gradient estimation methods require substantial resources,ultimately surpassing the capabilities of classical ***,leveraging the principles of superposition and entanglement in quantum mechanics,quantum computers can achieve genuine parallel computing,leading to exponential acceleration over classical algorithms in some *** this paper,we propose a novel quantum-based gradient calculation method that requires only a single oracle calculation to obtain the numerical gradient result for a multivariate *** complexity of this algorithm is just O(1).Building upon this approach,we successfully implemented the quantum gradient descent algorithm and applied it to the variational quantum eigensolver(VQE),creating a pure quantum variational optimization *** with classical gradient-based optimization algorithm,this quantum optimization algorithm has remarkable complexity advantages,providing an efficient solution to optimization *** proposed quantum-based method shows promise in enhancing the performance of optimization algorithms,highlighting the potential of quantum computing in this field.
