Rapid lithium-ion insertion/extraction and migration behavior of Na_(2)WO_(4)-encapsulated lithium-rich layered oxide cathode

Due to the low cost,high working voltage and high storage capacity,Li-rich Mn-based layered compounds show promise as the cathode materials for lithiumion batteries(LIBs).However,the side reactions at the solid-liquid interface of the cathode will lead to rapid capacity decay and inferior rate ***,this article proposes a liquid-phase dispersion strategy to introduce a Na_(2)WO_(4)layer on the Li_(1.2)Ni_(0.13)-Co_(0.13)Mn_(0.54)O_(2) cathode,which can reduce the side effects between raw materials and electrolyte and promote the insertion/extraction rate of Li^(+),thus enhancing the material stability and rate *** a result,the capacity retention rate is 96.9%after 200 cycles under ***,the capacities are 177.5,149.5,111.1 and58.3 mAh·g^(-1)at 1C,2C,5C and 10C,implying a superior fast charging *** exceptional performance can be ascribed to both the increased conductivity and enhanced structural stability of the cathode ***'s more,based on the investigation of ion insertion/extraction behavior in electrode materials and the ion migration kinetics in the electrolyte,this study suggests that coating Li-rich Mn-based materials with Na_(2)WO_(4)can be a promising strategy to improve their performance in LIBs.

An in-situ study of static recrystallization in Mg using high temperature EBSD

It has been a common method to improve the mechanical properties of metals by manipulating their microstructures via static recrystallization,i.e.,through heat ***,the knowledge of recrystallization and grain growth is critical to the success of the *** the present work,by using in-situ high temperature EBSD,the mechanisms that control recrystallization and grain growth of an extruded pure Mg were *** experimental results revealed that the grains of priority for dynamic recrystallization exhibit fading competitiveness under static *** is also found that grain boundary movement or grain growth is likely to show an inverse energy gradient effect,i.e.,low energy grains tend to swallow or grow into high energy grains,and grain boundaries of close to 30°exhibit superior growth advantage to *** finding is that{10-12}tensile twin boundaries are sites of hardly observed for recrystallization,and are finally swallowed by adjacent recrystallized *** above findings may give comprehensive insights of static recrystallization and grain growth of Mg,and may guide the design of advanced materials processing in microstructural engineering.

Elevation of tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-1β and interleukin-6 levels in aortic intima of Chinese Guizhou minipigs with streptozotocin-induced diabetes

Background Large animal models with toxin-mediated pancreatic damage have been used extensively in researches with respect to diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diabetic complications. The present study aimed to establish Chinese Guizhou minipig models with streptozotocin （STZ）-induced diabetes and characterize the animal models by analyzing inflammatory cytokine levels in aortic wall, such as tumor necrosis factor （TNF）-α, interleukin-1β （IL-1β） and interleukin-6 （IL-6）. Methods Twenty-two male Chinese Guizhou minipigs （age, 4 to 6 months; weight, 20 kg to 30 kg） were divided into STZ-induced diabetic group （n=-12） and control group （n=-10）. STZ （125 mg/kg） was administrated to induce hyperglycemia and afterwards insulin was used to control fasting blood glucose levels below 10 mmol/L. Oral glucose tolerance test （OGTT） was performed before and one month after STZ administration and serum concentrations of alanine transaminase, asparegine transaminase, albumin, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, lipids and white blood cell count were measured before and six months later. Animals in both groups were euthanized after six months and pancreas was examined immunohistochemically for islet 13 cells. Aortic intima of diabetic minipigs and controls was analyzed for TNF-α level in tissue conditioned medium by Western blot. TNF-α, IL-β and IL-6 mFINA levels in aortic intima were assayed by reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction （FIT-PCR）. Results Significant elevation in serum glucose levels was observed one month and six months after STZ induction （P〈0.001） and markedly increased OGTT values were noted, compared with baseline data. The normal pancreas had many irregular sized islets and small clusters of islet β cells, while in pancreas of diabetic minipigs islet β ceils almost disappeared. Nitrogen addition increased resistance of resident plant community to Solidago canadensis invasion by altering allelopathic effect

Allelopathy plays an important role in the interaction between invasive and resident *** nitrogen(N)deposition has become a global problem,but it is unclear whether N enrichment affects the interaction between invasive and resident plants by affecting their ***,we performed a greenhouse experiment in which the resident plant community was grown under two levels of invasion by ***(invasion *** invasion)and fully crossed with two levels of allelopathy(with or without adding activated carbon)and two levels of N addition(with or without).The resident plant communities were constructed with eight herbaceous species that often co-occur with *** results showed that both allelopathy of *** and the resident plants had obvious positive effects on their own *** addition had more obvious positive effects on the resident plants under invasion than those that were not ***,N addition also altered the allelopathy of resident ***,N addition improved the allelopathy of resident plants when they were invaded but decreased the allelopathy of resident plants when they grew *** nitrogen addition had no obvious effect on ***,it reduced the allelopathy of *** results suggest that N addition could improve the resistance of resident plants to invasion by improving the allelopathy of resident plants and reducing the allelopathy of *** fndings provide a scientifc basis to manage and control the *** invasion.

With the advancements in gene sequencing technologies,including genome-wide association studies,polygenetic risk scores,and high-throughput sequencing,there has been a tremendous advantage in mapping a detailed blueprint for the genetic model of bipolar disorder(BD).To date,intriguing genetic clues have been identified to explain the development of BD,as well as the genetic association that might be applied for the development of susceptibility prediction and pharmacogenetic *** genes of BD,such as CACNA1C,ANK3,TRANK1,and CLOCK,have been found to be involved in various pathophysiological processes correlated with *** the specific roles of these genes have yet to be determined,genetic research on BD will help improve the prevention,therapeutics,and prognosis in clinical *** latest preclinical and clinical studies,and reviews of the genetics of BD,are analyzed in this review,aiming to summarize the progress in this intriguing field and to provide perspectives for individualized,precise,and effective clinical practice.

We propose an in-fiber Michelson-Fabry-Perrot(M-FP)hybrid interferometer for the simultaneous measurement of seawater temperature and *** sensor head consists of two parallel hetero Fabry-Perot(FP)cavities fabricated on the end face of the twin core fiber(TCF).A fiber fusion taper is used to split and recouple the light in the two *** this case,the Vernier effect can be obtained which can greatly enhance the sensitivity and solve the problem of temperature *** from the traditional demodulation method based on envelop detection,we employed frequency domain decomposition method(FDDM)to demodulate the sensing *** simulation results indicate that the proposed sensor has high sensitivity to salinity and *** to the merits of high sensitivity,ease of fabrication and small footprint,the proposed seawater temperature and salinity sensor would have potential applications in marine science,food industry and ocean ranching.

The development of a coal-based synthetic route to produce benzene polycarboxylic acids(BPCAs)is of great importance for the highly efficient utilization of *** this paper,aqueous NaCl^(-)electrolytic system was used to oxidize Zhaotong lignite to prepare *** electrochemical oxidation of lignite in aqueous NaCl solution could produce more BPCAs than that in aqueous NaOH *** aqueous NaCl electrolytic system could in-suit produce a stable OCl^(-),which was synthesized by the combination reaction between Cl_(2)and OH􀀀generated in the anode or cathode,*** in-suit produced OCl^(-)would degrade the organic structures of the lignite dispersing in the electrolyte to generate *** formation of BPCAs could be greatly affected by current density,electrolysis time and the addition amount of NaCl in the electrolytic system,which resulted from that the factors played an important role in the generation of OCl^(-).The coal related model compounds including anthracene and phenanthrene were used to investigate the electrochemical oxidation mechanism of the *** results indicated that the aromatic ring structures in the lignite were attacked by O_(2)•^(-)from the OCl^(-)to afford BPCAs.

Rhizosphere microbes influence wogonoside accumulation in perennial Scutellaria baicalensis

Dried roots of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi are an acclaimed traditional Chinese medicine,and wogonoside content is a key indicator used to evaluate *** *** than rising linearly with cultivation years,*** quality initially increases and then ***,little is known regarding the dynamic variations in *** rhizosphere microorganisms under long-term cultivation and underlying mechanisms of their effects on wogonoside formation and *** aim of this study was to investigate the roles of soil nutrients and rhizosphere microbes on *** quality across different cultivation years(1-4 years).The wogonoside content(25.14 mg g^(-1))was highest in the biennial *** and then decreased following long-term *** soil nutrients(available nitrogen,available phosphorus,available iron,available manganese,and available zinc)were reduced significantly as cultivation years *** also affected rhizosphere bacterial community structure significantly,driving it toward deterministic process(i.e.,β-nearest taxon index<-2).Available manganese and exchangeable calcium indirectly affected wogonoside formation and *** inhibition was driven by the reduction in rhizosphere bacterial diversity,which significantly increased the relative abundance of beta-glucosidase and decreased the relative abundance of phenylalanine *** rhizosphere microenvironment was altered under long-term cultivation,thereby shaping rhizosphere bacterial community,reducing the community diversity,and ultimately inhibiting wogonoside formation and *** findings may aid in understanding of the mechanisms and reasons for the reduction in *** quality under long-term cultivation from the perspective of soil nutrients and microorganisms,which may theoretically support the future artificial cultivation and management of Chinese medicinal plants.

Highly Accurate Golden Section Search Algorithms and Fictitious Time Integration Method for Solving Nonlinear Eigenvalue Problems

This study sets up two new merit functions,which are minimized for the detection of real eigenvalue and complex eigenvalue to address nonlinear eigenvalue *** each eigen-parameter the vector variable is solved from a nonhomogeneous linear system obtained by reducing the number of eigen-equation one less,where one of the nonzero components of the eigenvector is normalized to the unit and moves the column containing that component to the right-hand side as a nonzero input vector.1D and 2D golden section search algorithms are employed to minimize the merit functions to locate real and complex ***,the real and complex eigenvectors can be computed very accurately.A simpler approach to the nonlinear eigenvalue problems is proposed,which implements a normalization condition for the uniqueness of the eigenvector into the eigenequation *** real eigenvalues can be computed by the fictitious time integration method(FTIM),which saves computational costs compared to the one-dimensional golden section search algorithm(1D GSSA).The simpler method is also combined with the Newton iterationmethod,which is convergent very *** the proposed methods are easily programmed to compute the eigenvalue and eigenvector with high accuracy and efficiency.
