Volume-preserving Fields and Reeb Fields on 3-manifolds

Volume-preserving field X on a 3-manifold is the one that satisfies LxΩ = 0 for some volume Ω. The Reeb vector field of a contact form is of volume-preserving, but not conversely. On the basis of Geiges-Gonzalo＇s parallelization results, we obtain a volume-preserving sphere, which is a triple of everywhere linearly independent vector fields such that all their linear combinations with constant coefficients are volume-preserving fields. From many aspects, we discuss the distinction between volume-preserving fields and Reeb-like fields. We establish a duality between volume-preserving fields and h-closed 2-forms to understand such distinction. We also give two kinds of non-Reeb-like but volume-preserving vector fields to display such distinction.

Testosterone replacement is strictly contraindicated for the treatment of male infertility was the advanced view from the ＇2013 European Association of Urology （EAU） guidelines on male infertility＇, and this view brings extensive concern and questions. Although sufficient numbers of well-performed and controlled clinical trials that provide evidence supporting drug treatment of male infertility are not available at present, the opportunity to prove that these drugs are effective should not be prevented, and rigorous examination of drug therapy should be encouraged and strengthened. Therefore, I believe the above conclusion in the EAU guidelines is poorly conceived.

A target in layered medium can be located by the ridge-like distribution time reversal and reverse time migration(TR-RTM) mixed method. However, this method cannot distinguish between acoustic field distributions of the interface and target for the wider acoustic pulse signals, which may result in inaccurate location of the target. A snapshot TR-RTM mixed method is proposed to solve this problem. The principle of snapshot TR-RTM mixed method is first given. Experiments are then carried out, and a mountain-like acoustic field distribution is obtained by processing experimental data. The results show that the location of the peak is that of the target, and the ratio of the scattered signal and interface reflection signal(signal-to-interference ratio) is improved by about four times after processing. Furthermore, this method can effectively suppress the interface reflection signal and enhance the target scattering signal. Therefore, it can achieve effective detection and location of a target in a layered medium.

The T-meshes are local modification of rectangular meshes which allow T-junctions. The splines over T-meshes are involved in many fields, such as finite element methods, CAGD etc. The dimension of a spline space is a basic problem for the theories and applications of splines. However, the problem of determining the dimension of a spline space is difficult since it heavily depends on the geometric properties of the partition. In many cases, the dimension is unstable. In this paper, we study the instability in the dimensions of spline spaces over T-meshes by using the smoothing cofactor-conformality method. The modified dimension formulas of spline spaces over T-meshes with T-cycles are also presented. Moreover, some examples are given to illustrate the instability in the dimensions of the spline spaces over some special meshes.

AIM： To construct the recombinant Lactococcus/actis as oral delivery vaccination against malaria. METHODS： The C-terminal 19-ku fragments of MSP1 （MSP-119） of Plasmodium yoelii265-BY was expressed in L. lactis and the recombinant L. lact/s was administered orally to BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. After seven interval vaccinations within 4 wk, the mice were challenged with P. yoelii 265-BY parasites of erythroo/tic stage. The protective efficacy of recombinant L. lactiswas evaluated. RESULTS： The peak parasitemias in average for the experiment groups of BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice were 0.8± 0.4% and 20.8±26.5%, respectively, and those of their control groups were 12.0±0.8% and 60.8±9.6%, respectively. None of the BALB/c mice in both experimental group and control group died during the experiment. However, all the C57BL/6 mice in the control group died within 23 d and all the vaccinated mice survived well. CONCLUSION： The results imply the potential of recombinant L. lactis as oral delivery vaccination against malaria.

The impact of erectile dysfunction is distressing to both males and their female partners, but less attention has been paid to identify female partners＇ preferred treatment and sexual quality of life outcomes. The present analysis explores female partners＇ treatment preference for erectile dysfunction in Chinese Men. This was a phase 4, randomized, open-label, multicenter, crossover study in Chinese men with erectile dysfunction who were na＇fve to phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor treatments. Eligible patients were randomized to sequential 20-mg tadalafil/100-mg sildenafil or lO0-mg sildenafil/20-mg tadalafil for 8 weeks each. Of 418 patients, female partners of 64 patients agreed to enter the study; of 64 patients who entered the study with female partners, 63 were randomized, and 62 completed the study. Baseline demographics and disease characteristics were comparable between treatment groups. Significantly more couples preferred tadalafil compared with sildenafil overall （75.4% vs 24.6%; P〈 0.001）, and irrespective of erectile dysfunction severity at baseline （P 〈 0.005）. Significant improvements in sexual quality of life scores were reported at endpoint （Visit 8） in male patients and female partners in both tadalafil and sildenafil treatment groups （P 〈 0.001）. Significantly higher mean changes from baseline were observed for male patients in the tadalafil group compared with the sildenafil group for the erectile function （P = 0.013） and overall satisfaction （P = 0.019） International Index for Erectile Function domains and the spontaneity domain （P〈 0.001） of the Psychological and Interpersonal Relationship Scale. No major safety concerns were reported during the study. Though both treatments were effective, safe, and tolerable, more couples preferred tadalafil compared with sildenafil.

Without prior knowledge of medium parameters,a method is proposed to detect and locate a target in layered *** were carried out for liquid/liquid and solid/liquid layered media,and the location of a target in them was obtained using three methods combined,i.e.,the least-square method,the method of finding minimum dispersal degree of target distribution,and the snapshot time reversal and reverse time migration mixed *** medium parameters,i.e.,the acoustic velocities of upper and lower media as well as the thickness of the upper medium,were inversed *** results show that the position of target is consistent with its actual ***,the detection and location of a target in layered media are achieved without prior knowledge of medium parameters,and it overcomes the difficulty that the common time reversal method only detects the target,but cannot locate it.
