Investigation of free amino acid, total phenolics,antioxidant activity and purine alkaloids to assess the health properties of non-Camellia tea

To find novel functional beverages from folk teas, 33 species of frequently used non-Camellia tea(plants other than Camellia) were collected and compared with Camellia tea(green tea, pu-erh tea and black tea) for the first time. Data are reported here on the quantities of 20 free amino acids(FAAs) and three purine alkaloids(measured by UHPLC), total polyphenols(measured by Folin-Ciocalteu assay), and antioxidant activity(DPPH). The total amounts of FAAs in non-Camellia tea(0.62–18.99 mg/g) are generally less than that of Camellia tea(16.55–24.99 mg/g). However, for certain FAAs, the quantities were much higher in some non-Camellia teas, such as γ-aminobutyric acid in teas from Ampelopsis grossedentata, Isodon serra and Hibiscus sabdariffa. Interestingly, theanine was detected in tea from Potentilla fruticosa(1.16±0.81 mg/g). Furthermore, the content of polyphenols in teas from A. grossedentata, Acer tataricum subsp. ginnala are significantly higher than those from Camellia tea;teas from I. serra, Pistacia chinensis and A. tataricum subsp. ginnala have remarkable antioxidant activities similar to the activities from green tea(44.23 μg/m L). Purine alkaloids(caffeine, theobromine and theophylline) were not detected in non-Camellia teas. The investigation suggest some non-Camellia teas may be great functional natural products with potential for prevention of chronic diseases and aging,by providing with abundant polyphenols, antioxidants and specific FAAs.

Determination of dark matter distribution in Ursa Major III and constraints on dark matter annihilation

The recently discovered satellite dwarf galaxy Ursa Major III provides a promising opportunity to explore the signatures resulting from dark matter(DM)annihilation owing to its proximity and large *** the absence of an excess ofγ-ray signatures originating from Ursa Major III,observations ofγ-rays,such as those from Fermi-LAT,can be utilized to set constraints on the DM annihilation *** this study,we determined the DM density profile and considered the relationship between DM density and velocity dispersion at different locations within Ursa Major III through Jeans *** calculated the J-factor of Ursa Major III for s-wave annihilation along with the effective J-factors for p-wave and Sommerfeld enhanced annihilation *** these derived J-factors,we set stringent constraints on DM annihilation cross-sections in three *** the substantial impact of member star identification on the J-factor of Ursa Major III,we further calculated J-factors under the exclusion of the largest velocity *** analysis reveals a notable reduction in the median value and an increase in the deviation of J-factors,thereby leading to considerably weaker constraints.

Three-dimensional(3D) thin-film electrodes are promising solution to the volume change of active materials in lithium-ion *** a conductive current collector,the 3D TiO_(2) nanotube array networks(TNAs) have a one-dimensional stable electronic conductive path and increase the adhesion between the current collector and raw material,thereby improving the cycle stability of active *** this study,a novel 3D-TNAs@Sb_(2)S_(3) anode was fabricated by directly depositing natural stibnite onto3D *** adhesion of Sb_(2)S_(3) particles to the substrate was enhanced due to the large surface area provided by ***,the porous layered structure composed of Sb_(2)S_(3) nanoparticles relieved the stress generated during lithiation and adapted to the volume change of Sb_(2)S_(3) during ***,the resulting composite anode exhibits high cycle and rate performance,reaching0.36 mAh·cm^(-2) after 80 cycles at the galvanostatic rate of1 mA·cm^(-2),with high coulombic efficiency of 98%.

Treatment of phenol wastewater by microwave-induced CIO_2-CuO_x/Al_2O_3 catalytic oxidation process

The catalyst of CUOx/Al2O3 was prepared by the dipping-sedimentation method using y-Al2O3 as a supporter. CuO and Cu2O were loaded on the surface of Al2O3, characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. In the presence of CuOx/Al2O3, the microwave-induced chlorine dioxide （ClO2） catalytic oxidation process was conducted for the treatment of synthetic wastewater containing 100 mg/L phenol. The factors influencing phenol removal were investigated and the results showed that microwave-induced C102-CuOx/ml203 process could effectively degrade contaminants in a short reaction time with a low oxidant dosage, extensive pH range. Under a given condition （ClO2 concentration 80 mg/L, microwave power 50 W, contact time 5 latin, catalyst dosage 50 g/L, pH 9）, phenol removal percentage approached 92.24%, corresponding to 79.13% of CODcr removal. The removal of phenol by microwave-induced ClO2-CuOx/Al2O3 catalytic oxidation process was a complicated non-homogeneous solid/water reaction, which fitted pseudo-first-order by kinetics. Compared with traditional ClO2 oxidation, ClO2 catalytic oxidation and microwave-induced ClO2 oxidation, microwave-induced ClO2 catalytic oxidation system could significantly enhance the degradation efficiency. It provides an effective technology for the removal of phenol wastewater.

A total of 1 116 middle-aged and elderly men and 1 442 postmenopausal women were recruited in this study. Whether bisphenol A exposure was associated with circulating sex hormone concentrations was studied. Univariate analysis revealed that the urinary bisphenol A concentration was negatively correlated with the serum levels of luteinizing hormone （B=-0.061, P〈0.0001） and follicle-stimulating hormone （B=-0.086, P〈0.0001） in men, and with the serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone （B=-0.037, P=0.018） and sex hormone-binding globulin （B=-0.043, P=0.006） in women. However, no significant association was observed between the serum levels of urinary bisphenol A and circulating sex hormone after adjustment for the potential confounders.

Gamma-ray polarimetry is a new and prospective tool for studying extremely high-energy celestial objects and is of great significance for the field of *** the rapid development of microsatellite technology,the advantages of space exploration have become increasingly ***,we simulated a soft-gamma-ray polarimeter for a microsatellite based on the Compton scattering *** performed detailed Monte Carlo simulations using monoenergetic gamma-ray linear-polarization sources and Crab-like sources in the energy range of 0.1-10 MeV considering the orbital *** polarimeter exhibited excellent polarization detection *** modulation factor was 0.80±0.01,and the polarization angles were accurate within an error of 0.2°at 200 keV for on-axis *** the Crab-like sources for on-axis incidence,the polarization degrees were consistent with the set values within the error tolerance,the modulation factor was 0.76±0.01,and the minimum detectable polarization reached 2.4%at 3σfor an observation time of10^(6) ***,the polarimeter exhibited recoil electron tracking,imaging,and powerful background suppression in a large field of view(FoV;∼2πsr).The proposed polarimeter meets the requirements of a space soft-gamma-ray polarization detector and has promising research prospects.

This paper introduces the usage of these functions. It presents the technique of how to program with them to perform the serial communications between a computer and other digital devices by the serial porst in Windows95. The related sample codes of the applications of this technique written in C++ programming language are also given. This technique is applied successfully to receive the data of the radio noise from a frequency monitor.

Using Tree Shrews (Tupaia belangeri)as a Novel Animal Model of Liver Transplantation

Liver transplantation (LT)is most effective and promising approach for end-stage liver ***,there remains room for further improvement and innovation,for example, to reduce ischemic reperfusion injury,transplant rejection and immune tolerance.A good animal model of LT is essential for such innovation in transplant *** rat LT model has been used since the last century,it has never been an ideal model because the results observed in rat may not be applied to human because these two species are genetically distinct from each *** this study,we for the first time performed LT using the tree shrew (Tupaia belangeri),a species in the Order Scandentia which is closely related with primates,and evaluated the possibility to adopt this species as a new model of *** performed LT on 30 animals using the two-cuff technique, examining the success rate,the survival rate and the immunological *** recipient operation time was 60 min averagely,and we limited the time of the anhepatic phase within 20 ***-seven (90%)of the animals survived for at least 3 days after the transplantation. Thirteen animals that did not receive any immunosuppressive drug died in 8 days mostly because of acute rejection effect (n=9),similar to the reaction in human but not in experimental *** rest 14 animals that were given rapamycin survived significantly longer (38 days)and half of them survived for 60 days until the end of the *** results suggest that performing LT in tree shrews can yield high success rate and high survival *** importantly,the tree shrews share similar immunological reaction with *** addition,previous genomics study found that the tree shrews share more proteins with *** sum,the tree shrews may outperform the experimental rats and could be used as a better and cost-effective animal model for LT.
