A facile strategy was proposed to fabricate the S-doped flower-like BiOI microspheres(S-BiOI) for boosting the photocatalytic performance of BiOI via engineering the surface oxygen vacancy and exposed {001}crystal *** S-doping generated oxygen vacancies in BiOI lattice structure to create point defects and exposed {001} crystal planes,resulting in a decrease in bandgap and an enhancement in charges separation,which could significantly hasten the photocatalytic *** concentration of CH_(4) N_(2) S was a key factor to promote the Cr(Ⅵ) reduction *** optimized S-BiOI_(1.25) presented a superior Cr(Ⅵ) removal efficiency of 100% for 60 min,which Cr(Ⅵ) reduction rate was 11.3 times higher than the pristine BiOI and still remained 97.5% Cr(Ⅵ) removal after 5 *** calculation confirmed that the bandgap of the S-BiOI was narrowed compared to that of BiOI,but the S-BiOI still remained the intrinsic band structure of the pristine BiOI.

Ternary NiCoFe layer hydroxides with different Ni/Co/Fe molar ratios were prepared using simple urea *** finely tuning Ni/Co/Fe molar ratio,the optimized hydroxide(LDH(2.0)),a Ni/Co/Fe molar ratio of 2.0/1.0/1.0,provided high specific capacitance(408 F g^-1at 2.0 A g^-1)and good stability(90.9%retention over 1000 cycles)due to maximum crystallinity(91.35%crystallinity)and specific surface area(160 m^2g^-1).In order to further improve the electrochemical performances,the LDH(2.0)was made into a composite(LDH/PANI)with polyaniline(PANI)via in situ polymerization of aniline *** LDH/PANI composite had a much higher specific capacitance(717 F g^-1at 2.0 A g^-1)compared with the LDH(2.0),and a significant improvement of cycleability(84.7%retention over 1000 cycles).The results indicated that the LDH/PANI had a synergistic effect of both components due to the complementary properties,which guaranteed a good electric contact and consequently increased the specific *** provided a new approach for designing organic-inorganic composite materials with potential application in supercapacitors.

In this study,we conducted exposure experiments on egg-laying hens to explore the toxicokinetics and maternal transfer characteristics of lipophilic and proteinophilic halogenated organic pollutants(HOPs).The lipophilic HOPs included polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs),polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs),and dechlorane plus(DPs),while the proteinophilic HOPs included perfluorocarboxylic acids(PFCAs).The results revealed that most of lipophilic HOPs exhibit lower depuration rate(kd)than *** kd of lipophilic HOPs correlated with the octanol−water partition coefficient(log KOW)values in a V-shaped curve,whereas that of PFCAs correlated with the protein−water partition coefficient(log KPW)values in an inverted V-shaped *** depuration rate,rather than the uptake rate,was a leading factor in determining the bioaccumulation potential of HOPs in *** the dominant factors determining the tissue distribution of the two types of compounds were explicit(fats vs phospholipids),chemical-specific tissue distribution was still *** egg-maternal concentration ratio was dependent on the exposure status,concentration,and maternal tissue *** a single maternal tissue may not be an appropriate method for assessing chemical maternal transfer *** have a greater maternal transfer potential(>80%of the total body burden)than lipophilic HOPs(approximately 30%for BDE209 and DPs,and less than 10%for the others).Their lipophilic and partly proteinophilic nature makes the toxicokinetics and maternal transfer characteristics of BDE209 and DPs different from those of other lipophilic *** findings are crucial for enhancing our understanding of the behavior and fate of HOPs in egg-laying hens.

Scheelite （CaWO4） mineral holds promise as a cost-effective and efficient catalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction （OER）crucial in renewable energy ***,challenges such as limited active site exposure and low electrocatalytic performance need *** this work,we have fabricated two-dimensional （2D） CaWO4nanosheets from scheelite minerals via a straightforward ultrasonic exfoliation method and evaluated their efficacy as OER *** to scheelite powders,these 2D nanosheets exhibited superior crystallinity and a 1.26-fold increase in electrochemical surface area,promoting active site *** 2D CaWO4nanosheet electrode demonstrated outstanding OER catalytic performance,achieving a current density of 20 mA/cm2at an overpotential of 290 m V in alkaline conditions,which was lower than that of bulk CaWO4electrodes （～340 mV）.Density functional theory calculations attributed this enhanced catalytic performance to moderate adsorption of oxygenated intermediates （*OH,*O,and*OOH） on the W sites of 2D *** situ electrochemical atomic force microscopy tests also confirmed the catalytic enhancement by 2D CaWO4nanosheets during *** findings demonstrate the potential of affordable and abundant mineral resources in advancing electrochemical catalysts for oxygen evolution,highlighting their broader application in sustainable energy technologies.

The IR spectrum and 11B and 27Al MAS NMR spectra of Al18B4O33 are presented and discussed in relation to the possible existence of boron atoms substituting for aluminum atoms. The IR spectrum shows that the strong vibrations of the BO3 groups are present in the 1 500-1 200 cm-1 region, and very weak bands of BO4 units are present in the region from 1 000 to 1 100 cm-1. 11B MAS NMR spectrum indicates that the strong signal for BO3 units appears in the region from δ+5 to δ+20, and the very weak signal for BO4 units is at about δ- 1, while 27Al MAS NMR spectrum shows five peaks at about δ+62, +42. 1, +14, -4. 7 and -6. 4, originating from AlO4, AlO4, AlO5, AlO6 and AlO6, respectively. These results reveal that there are minor BO4 units in Al18B4O33, indicating that a small amount of B atoms substitute for Al atoms in the 4-fold coordination.

Sepiolite@LDH(Sep@LDH)composites were designed and prepared based on the assembly of layered double hydroxides(LDH)on acidified sepiolites(Sep)for the simultaneous photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange(MO)and methylene blue(MB).The structure,morphology,texture,optical properties,and photocatalytic performance of the prepared Sep@LDH were studied in *** the Sep@LDH composites,Sep4@LDH(4.0 g Sep)exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity under visible‐light irradiation,which could be attributed to its large surface area,high crystallinity,and plentiful active sites on its *** photodegradation of the dyes followed a pseudo first‐order kinetic model(Langmuir‐Hinshelwood model),indicating that the copious and homogeneous active sites on the surface of the composites contributed to the high photocatalytic *** photodegradation mechanism was studied by examining the active species(^-OH,h+,and·O2^-anions)using appropriate *** was found that·OH radicals played a critical role in the photocatalytic process of MO and MB,where the generation of·OH radicals occurred on the electron/hole(e^-/h+)pairs on the surface of the Sep@LDH composites.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is a key factor in stress adaptation and avoidance of a social stress behavioral *** studies have shown that brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in stressed mice is brain region–specific,particularly involving the corticolimbic system,including the ventral tegmental area,nucleus accumbens,prefrontal cortex,amygdala,and *** how brain-derived neurotrophic factor participates in stress processing in different brain regions will deepen our understanding of social stress *** this review,we discuss the expression and regulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in stress-sensitive brain regions closely related to the pathophysiology of *** focused on associated molecular pathways and neural circuits,with special attention to the brain-derived neurotrophic factor–tropomyosin receptor kinase B signaling pathway and the ventral tegmental area–nucleus accumbens dopamine *** determined that stress-induced alterations in brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels are likely related to the nature,severity,and duration of stress,especially in the above-mentioned brain regions of the corticolimbic ***,BDNF might be a biological indicator regulating stress-related processes in various brain regions.

Boosting hydrocarbon conversion via Cu-doping induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2 in CO2 electroreduction

Conversion of CO2back to hydrocarbons is the most direct way of closing the“carbon cycle”,and its significance is further enlarged if this process is driven by renewable energies such as ***,precisely controlling the product selectivity towards hydrocarbons against the competitive hydrogen evolution remains challenging,especially for Cu-based ***,we report a novel defect engineering strategy,by which Cu-doping-induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2nanorods were effectively created,with adjustable vacancy/Cu *** resulting optimum catalyst shows up to 79% catalytic current density to hydrocarbons （excluding CO）,with 49% faradaic efficiency to *** and density functional theory unveil that the ratio between oxygen vacancy and Cu affects significantly the formation of*CHO and activation of H2O,which leads to the following deep hydrogenation to *** findings may spur new insights for designing and developing more controllable chemical process relevant to CO2utilization.
