Growth of high-quality Nb_(3)Sn thin films for superconducting radiofrequency(SRF)applications using the vapor diffusion method requires a uniform distribution of tin nuclei on the niobium(Nb)*** study examines the mechanism underlying the observed non-uniform distribution of tin nuclei with tin chloride SnCl_(2).Electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)analysis was used to examine the correlation between the nucleation behavior and orientation of niobium grains in the *** findings of the density functional theory(DFT)simulation are in good agreement with the experimental results,showing that the non-uniform distribution of tin nuclei is the result of the adsorption energy of SnCl_(2)molecules by varied niobium grain *** analysis indicated that the surface roughness and grain size of niobium also played significant roles in the nucleation *** study provides valuable insights into enhancing the surface pretreatment of niobium substrates during the growth of Nb_(3)Sn thin films using the vapor diffusion method.

Plants mount induced resistance and adult-plant resistance against different pathogens throughout the whole growth *** production faces threats from multiple major diseases,including rice blast,sheath blight,and bacterial leaf ***,we report that the miR172a–SNB–MYB30 module regulates both induced and adult-plant resistance to these three major diseases via lignification in ***,pathogen infections induce the expression of miR172a,which downregulates the transcription factor SNB to release its suppression of MYB30,leading to an increase in lignin biosynthesis and disease resistance throughout the whole growth ***,expression levels of miR172a and MYB30 gradually increase and are consistently correlated with lignin contents and disease resistance during rice development,reaching a peak at full maturity,whereas SNB RNA levels are negatively correlated with lignin contents and disease resistance,indicating the involvement of the miR172a–SNB–MYB30 module in adult-plant *** functional domain of SNB protein and its binding sites in the MYB30 promoter are highly conserved among more than 4000 rice accessions,while abnormal expression of miR172a,SNB,or MYB30 compromises yield traits,suggesting artificial selection of the miR172a–SNB–MYB30 module during rice *** together,these results reveal a novel role for a conserved miRNA-regulated module that contributes significantly to induced and adult-plant resistance against multiple pathogens by increasing lignin accumulation,deepening our understanding of broad-spectrum resistance and adult-plant resistance.

Objective To investigate the optimal timing for the repair of persistent incomplete facial paralysis by hypoglossal-facial ‘side＇-to-side neurorrhaphy in rats. Methods A total of 30 adult rats with crushed and bulldog-clamped facial nerve injury were randomly divided into 5 groups（n = 6 each） that were subjected to injury without nerve repair or with immediate repair, 2-week-delayed repair, 4-week-delayed repair, or 8-week-delayed repair. Three months later, the effects of repair in each rat were evaluated by facial symmetry assessment, electrophysiological examination, retrograde labeling, and axon regeneration measurement. Results At 3 months after injury, the alpha angle significantly increased in the group of rats with 4-week-delayed repair compared with the other four groups. Upon stimulation of the facial nerve or Pre degenerated nerve, the muscle action potentials MAPs were recorded in the whisker pad muscle, and the MAP amplitude and area under the curve in the 4-week-delayed repair group were significantly augmented at 3 months post-injury. Similarly, the number of retrograde-labeled motor neurons in the facial and hypoglossal nuclei was quantified to be significantly greater in the 4-week-delayed repair group than in the other groups, and a large number of regenerated axons was also observed. Conclusion The results of this study demonstrated that hemi HN-FN neurorrhaphy performed 4 weeks after facial nerve injury was most effective in terms of the functional recovery of axonal regeneration and activation of facial muscles.

Comparison and Optimization of Mid-low Temperature Cogeneration Systems for Flue Gas in Iron and Steel Plants

Three generation systems, namely, steam Rankine cycle （SRC）, organic Rankine cycle （ORC）, and steam-organic combined Rankine cycle （S-ORC）, were simulated using the Engineering Equation Solver fEES） to efficiently utilize flue gas emissions from 200 to 450 ℃ in iron and steel plants. Based on the simulation results for thermal efficiency, exergy efficiency, and power generation, the performances of the three power generation systems were compared and analyzed. To further utilize waste heat from the turbine exhaust steam of the ORC system, cas- cade （）RC （CORC） was designed for heat sources above 300 ℃. Based on a comprehensive performance comparison, the application of the ORC using R141b is preferable for 200 to 300 ℃ flue gas. For 300 to 450 ℃ flue gas, CORC is an alternative technology to improve the efficiency and quality of waste heat utilization. For flue gas above 450 ℃, S-ORC can achieve higher efficiency and power generation than conventional SRC, with a relatively small negative pressure and high dryness of the turbine outlet steam. Hence, S-ORC can be considered as a substitute for SRC.
