Nitrogen(N)is one of the most limited nutrients of terrestrial ecosystems,whose losses are prevented in tightly coupled cycles in finely tuned *** change-induced N enrichment through atmospheric deposition and application of vast amounts of fertilizer are now challenging the terrestrial N *** mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)are known drivers of plant-soil nutrient fluxes,but a comprehensive assessment of AMF involvement in N cycling under global change is still ***,we simulated N enrichment by fertilization(low/high)in experimental grassland microcosms under greenhouse conditions in the presence or absence of AMF and continuously monitored different N pathways over nine *** found that high N enrichment by fertilization decreased the relative abundance of legumes and the plant species dominating the plant community changed from grasses to forbs in the presence of AMF,based on aboveground *** presence of AMF always maintained plant N:phosphorus(p)ratios between 14 and 16,no matter how the soil N availability *** in plant N:p ratios due to the increased plant N and p uptake might thus be a primary.pathway of AMF altering plant community ***,we constructed a comprehensive picture of AMF’s role in N cycling,highlighting that AMF reduced N losses primarily by mitigating N leaching,while N_(2)O emissions played a marginal *** mycorrhizal fungi reduced N_(2)O emissions directly through the promotion of N_(2)O-consuming *** underlying mechanism for reducing N leaching is mainly the AMF-mediated improved nutrient uptake and AMF-associated microbial *** results indicate that synergies between AMF and other soil microorganisms cannot be ignored in N cycling and that the integral role of AMF in N cycling terrestrial ecosystems can buffer the upcoming global changes.

The burden of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) disease is widely recognized. Main risk factors for severe disease, such as extreme ages, chronic cardiopulmonary conditions, and immunosuppression, typically coincide with poorer outcomes. While the majority of RSV hospitalizations involve healthy children, a higher proportion of hospitalized adults with underlying conditions need intensive care. presently, treatment primarily consists of supportive measures. RSV-induced wheezing should be distinguished from respiratory tract thickening, without response to bronchodilators. Obstructive RSV disease frequently overlaps with viral pneumonia. Non-invasive mechanical ventilation and high-flow oxygen therapy represented significant advancements in the management of severe RSV disease in children and may also hold considerable importance in specific phenotypes of RSV disease in adults. Most severe infections manifest with refractory hypoxemia necessitating more advanced ventilatory support and/or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation therapy. While bacterial co-infection rates are low, they have been associated with worse outcomes. Antibiotic prescription rates are high. Accurately diagnosing bacterial co-infections remains a challenge. Current evidence and antibiotic stewardship policies advise against indiscriminate antibiotic usage, even in severe cases. The role of currently developing antiviral therapies in severe RSV disease will be elucidated in the coming years, contingent upon the success of new vaccines and immune passive strategies involving nirsevimab. © 2024

Wind energy represents a clean, abundant and cost-effective power source, fostering job growth and environmental mitigation. Although wind energy harnesses several gigawatts today, its availability hinges on diverse factors, with geographical location standing out. Commercial turbines, with varying capacity ranges, saturate the market. Locating site-specific suitability and matching the appropriate turbine to meet specific requirements are of paramount importance. This study aims to assess the feasibility of wind energy in Surat, Gujarat, India and select an optimal small commercial turbine for residential use. The research involves Rayleigh and Weibull probability distribution functions based on yearlong velocity data. These distributions are fitted with actual data, revealing the most probable velocity (vmf = 3 m/s) and velocity at maximum power (vpmax = 5 m/s). The power availability of the site has been assessed as 42.6 W/m2 using both graphical and analytical methods. Several commercial turbines have been shortlisted based on on-site power criteria and their specifications are evaluated against site power availability. A comparative analysis culminates in identifying the most suitable turbine for the location. The best suitable turbine for the site with an annual energy yield of 8 MW has been suggested amongst selected turbines for small-scale residential applications. The feasibility of wind energy in Surat, Gujarat, India is assessed by selecting an optimal small commercial turbine for residential use. Rayleigh and Weibull probability distribution functions of wind velocity are fitted with yearlong data, revealing the most probable velocity and velocity at maximum power. Graphical Abstract

In this article,we present a dynamical system analysis of a Dirac-Born-Infeld scalar field in a modified f(Q)gravity *** considered a polynomial form of modified gravity,used two different types of scalar potential,polynomial and exponential,and found a closed autonomous dynamical system of *** analyzed the fixed points of such a system and evaluated the conditions under which deceleration to late-time acceleration occurs in this *** note the similarity of the two models and show that our result is consistent with a previous study on Einstein s *** also investigated the phenomenological implications of our models by.plotting EoS(ω),energy density(Ω),and deceleration parameter(q)*** e-fold time and comparing to the present *** conclude the paper by observing how the dynamical system analysis differs in the modified f(Q)gravity,and present the future scope of our research.

The discrete element method(DEM)has become a valuable tool for understanding the mechanical behaviour of granular assemblies,however,the accuracy of the DEM simulations depends on several interaction parameters such as the sliding friction and rolling friction ***,these parameters are estimated using bulk calibration approach(BCA)where the draw down test has been suggested as an effective way to approach these *** test provides up to four bulk criteria,the angle of repose,shear angle,mass flow rate and the mass loss which are used to narrow down the possible ***,there is still more research needed around it to fully understand how this methodology *** experimental and numerical study was carried out using the draw down test to assess the influence of different mass flow rates and particle shapes on DEM parameters for a cohesionless bulk *** is concluded that use of multi-sphere particles and three aperture sizes in the draw down test to calibrate the sliding and rolling friction parameters of a cohesionless bulk material can converge to a small feasible region in which a single combination of the friction coefficients can be *** calibrated sliding and rolling friction coefficients were validated using multi-sphere particles,where the maximum deviation was 5.9%from the experimental values.

Menopause is characterized by various physical,mental and emotional *** 731®is a standardized extract from Rheum rhaponticum root and has been clinically studied for its role in reducing menopausal *** current systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of ERr 731®supplementation in alleviating the severity of menopausal *** this review,we searched across three online databases up to March 2023,evaluated the quality of the included studies by the physiotherapy Evidence Database scale,and assessed the risk of bias by the Cochrane Risk of Bias *** then performed a metaanalysis using RevMan software to estimate the pooled mean difference(MD).The study.protocol was registered in the prospective Register of Systematic Reviews(CRD42023416808).After screening and evaluation,we included four high-quality studies(a total of 390 participants;the ERr 731®group:193 participants;the control group:197 participants)in the *** results showed that ERr 731®supplementation significantly reduced the Menopause Rating Scale score(MD:–15.12;ppared with control *** analysis revealed no effect of individual studies on the overall pooled estimate or overall observed *** current review provides evidence that ERr 731®supplementation is effective in reducing menopause *** bias and high heterogeneity in the results warrant further clinical studies.
