s.lfur mus.ard (s.) is.an alkalizing chemical which has.been us.d mos.ly as.a weapon all over the world. s.lfur mus.ard can caus. damages.to many organs. es.ecially the s.in, res.iratory s.s.em and the eyes. Generally, many complications.of mus.ard gas.res.lt from its.alkalizing potency and reaction with cellular components.like DNA, RNA, proteins.and lipid membranes. The damages.caus.d by s. will lead to many complications.which pers.s. during the lifes.an of expos.d s.bjects. Pro-inflammatory cytokines.including es.ecially TNF-α and IL-1β can caus. s.s.emic inflammatory reactions.and vas. changes.like altered cell s.gnaling, migration, cytokine production changes.and fever. This.s.udy was.des.gned to analyze cytokine levels.in mus.ard-gas.expos.d people’s.s.rum in the war between Iraq and Iran, who had the chronic dry-eye s.mptoms.compared to the normal group, 30 years.after expos.re. In this.s.udy, 25 veterans.who were expos.d to mus.ard gas.were compared to 25 healthy people as.control group. The veterans.with concurrent involvement of eye, lung, and s.in were s.lected. We us.d elIs. method to as.es. the levels.of TNF-α and IL-1β in s.rum of people in both groups. All the res.lts.analyzed with T-tes. in s.s. 17 s.atis.ical s.ftware. The mean levels.of TNF-α and IL-1β in s.rum of chemical expos.d veterans.were 52.3 ± 1.4 pg/ml and 3.43 ± 0.3 pg/ml while in the control group were 19.5±1.3 pg/ml and 2.25 ± 0.2 pg/ml, res.ectively. In the control group, the s.rum pro-inflammatory cytokine levels.were s.gnificantly lower than the expos.d group (P s.s.udy s.owed that there is.a meaningful difference between TNF-α and IL-1β s.rum levels.in the s. expos.d group compared to the control group. There are s.me differences.between the pres.nt s.udy and others. However, s.udies.on local inflammatory changes.in thes. patients.are als. limited and need more reviews.

Background: Inappropriate pres.ribing can lead to errors.in dis.ens.ng medications.and s.rious.problems.for patients. Objectives. Pres.ription analys.s.can identify s.ch drawbacks.of pres.ribing, increas. awarenes. of pres.ribers.of rational pres.ribing and cons.quently lead to proper delivery of pharmaceutical care and enhance therapeutic outcomes. Methods. In the pres.nt s.udy, pres.riptions.is.ued by cons.ltants.from a hos.ital and by general practitioners.from private practice in s.arjah-United Arab Emirates.were analyzed us.ng indicators.s.gges.ed by World Health Organizations. Thes. include information with regard to pres.riber, patient and the medication pres.ribed. We als. determined the average number of drugs.encounter and % of pres.riptions.with antibiotics.and thos. with injections. Data were collected and analyzed us.ng Micros.ft Excel and expres.ed in terms.of both counts.and percentages. Res.lts. Almos. all pres.riptions.were handwritten with eas.ly readable ones.being 65% for cons.ltants.and 46% for general practitioners. Average number of drugs.encounter was.2.1 and 2.8 for cons.ltants.and general practitioners. res.ectively. Antibiotics.were pres.ribed in 27% and 44%;generic pres.ribing was.5% and 10% by cons.ltants.and general practitioners.res.ectively and 8% of pres.riptions.by cons.ltants.contained injections. Variable res.lts.were obtained on information regarding the patient but cons.ltants.s.em to be better in documenting patient’s.age and gender. Cons.ltants.and general practitioners.tend to pres.ribe 3 drugs.and more in 35% and 25% res.ectively. The mos. commonly pres.ribed therapeutic clas.es.for both groups.of pres.ribers.were Ns.IDs.and antibiotics.with ibuprofen and amoxicillin-clavulanic acid combination being the mos. commonly pres.ribed drugs.of each clas.. Conclus.on: To improve pres.ription writing, interventions.mus. include, among others. incorporation of topics.on pres.ription writing in medical curriculum and programs.of conti

Kuwait is.not s.ared from the global pandemic which has.put the health s.ctor under immens. pres.ure. Becaus. COVID-19 is.highly trans.is.ible and deadly, it pos.s.a huge health ris. to nurs.s.and has.a huge impact on their cognitive, emotional, behavioural and phys.cal dimens.ons. s.rong>Aim:s.rong> The s.udy aims.to explore the pos.tive and negative emotions.and feelings.of s.aff nurs.s.while giving care to COVID-19 patients. s.rong>Materials.and Methods.s.rong> A des.riptive cros.-s.ctional s.udy was.carried out. 300 nurs.s.from different general hos.itals. field hos.itals. and quarantine facilities.in Kuwait participated in the s.udy. A ques.ionnaire was.us.d to collect the data. s.rong>Res.lts.s.rong> The findings.s.ow that for the cognitive evaluation, 72% were moderately affected, for the emotional evaluation 51.3% and 44% were moderately and mildly affected res.ectively, for the behavioural evaluation, 66.7% were s.verely affected, and for the phys.cal evaluation, 43.3% and 31.7% were moderately and s.verely affected res.ectively. Prolonged working hours.has.a highly s.gnificant negative correlation to emotional (r −0.165), behavioral (r −0.177) and phys.cal (r −0.155) dimens.on of the nurs.s.at 0.01 level us.ng s.earman’s.correlation. s.rong>Conclus.on:s.rong> The s.udy concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has.affected the ps.chophys.cal dimens.ons.of s.aff nurs.s.

Background: Evidence s.gges.s.that childhood phys.cal activity may play a role in the etiology and prevention of adult chronic dis.as.s. Becaus. res.archers.mus. often depend on s.lf-recalled phys.cal activity data many years.after the expos.re, it is.important to unders.and factors.which may influence adult recall of childhood phys.cal activity. This.s.udy evaluated the influence of adult characteris.ics.on reported childhood phys.cal activity and the as.ociation between adult phys.cal activity and s.lf-recalled childhood phys.cal activity. Methods. 48,066 pos.-menopaus.l women from the Women’s.Health Initiative Obs.rvational s.udy reported their phys.cal activity level during ages.5-9, 10-14, and 15-19. Res.lts. In this.cohort, over 65% of the population reported the s.me category of phys.cal activity over the three childhood age groups. While higher levels.of childhood phys.cal activity were s.gnificantly as.ociated with higher adult phys.cal activity, this.as.ociation varied by race/ethnicity, education, s.oking, body mas. index, his.ory of diabetes.or cardiovas.ular dis.as., s.cial s.pport and phys.cal functional s.atus. Women who were cons.s.ently highly active reported adult phys.cal activity levels.that were 2.82 MET-hr/week (95% C.I. = 2.43, 3.20) higher compared to women who were always.phys.cally inactive during childhood. Conclus.ons. It is.important for res.archers.to unders.and the influence of adult characteris.ics.on reported childhood phys.cal activity.
