The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)is an ecohydrological watershed-scale model which was initially developed in the early 1990s to simulate the impacts of land use,management systems,and climate on hydrology and/or water *** adopted in the U.S.,the use of the model then spread to Europe and then later to Asia and other *** range of applications that SWAT has been applied to have also expanded dramatically,which influenced ongoing model development which has been virtually continuous over the past two decades.A key component of many SWAT applications in Asia is accounting for rice paddy production that is common in some subregions within the ***,most of these studies do not provide explicit details of how rice production was simulated in *** research has revealed that significant problems occur when trying to represent rice paddy systems in standard versions of SWAT,due to limitations in algorithms based on the runoff curve number approach or the pothole *** response,key modifications have been made to SWAT in recent studies that have resulted in more accurate representation of rice paddy *** developments point to the need for the incorporation of an enhanced rice paddy module within SWAT to better capture rice paddy hydrological and pollutant dynamics,which would support improved use of the model in Asia and other rice production *** related to simulating rice production in SWAT are discussed as follows:1)an overview of global rice production;2)history of SWAT development;3)typical approaches for simulating rice production;4)problems associated with the typical approaches;5)recent code modifications to address deficiencies in replicating rice paddy systems;6)recommendations for developing a standard rice paddy module for future SWAT codes.

Agrobacterium-Mediated Transformation of Cry8db Gene in Vietnam Sweet Potato Cultivar

Sweet potato [Ipomoea batatas （L.） Lam.] is an important food crop in the world as well as in Vietnam. It is well known as a recalcitrant crop for gene transformation and tissue culture because of its genotype dependent in vitro responses. In present study, Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of cry8Db from Bacillus thuringiensis into KB 1 sweet potato variety has been studied. The C58cv strain carrying a pBl 121 backbone which contained cry8Db delta-endotoxin gene regulated under 35 S CaMV prom oter, and the selection marker gene, neomycin phosphotransferase （npt11） gene, was subjected for plant transformation. Callus induced from shoot tips and leaf explants were inoculated and cocultured with A. tumefaciens. The selection occurred during callus producing and plant regenerating steps. A total of 201 transgenic putative plant lines were produced, and 21 transgenic lines were positively confirmed by PCR and finalized by Southern blot. Four putative transgenic lines confirming a single copy of the crySEIb gene were transferred into soil pots in greenhouse. Biological activity evaluation for the insecticidal capacity of these transgenic lines under controlled conditions showed that the level of infestation by sweet potato weevils （Cylasformicarius） in untransformed plants was higher than that of transgenic lines.

The solution of boundary value problems(BVP)for fourth order differential equations by their reduction to BVP for second order equations,with the aim to use the available efficient algorithms for the latter ones,attracts attention from many *** this paper,using the technique developed by the authors in recent works we construct iterative method for a problem with complicated mixed boundary conditions for biharmonic equation which is originated from nanofluidic *** convergence rate of the method is proved and some numerical experiments are performed for testing its dependence on a parameter appearing in boundary conditions and on the position of the point where a transmission of boundary conditions occurs.

Glycopeptides and glycoproteins play vital roles in a wide array of biological activities including cell-cell adhesion, cell differentiation, cell growth and tumour metastasis. In addition, a host of major illnesses such as autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases and cancer are caused by aberrant protein glycosylation. Consequently, the development of new glycopeptides-based vaccines, diagnostics and therapeutics has gained significant interests, stimulating the study of glycopeptide synthesis. Here, a practical approach towards N-glycopeptide synthesis using an auxiliary-mediated dual native chemical ligation（NCL） is presented. The first NCL connects an N-linked glycosyl auxiliary to the thioester side chain of an N-terminal aspartate oligopeptide. This intermediate undergoes a second NCL with a Cterminal thioester peptide. Mild deprotection provides the desired N-glycopeptide. The flexibility and systematic control of our method clearly have significant advantages over preceding ones and present a major step forward in glycoscience. Taking into consideration of the previous approaches, our method offers an attractive and practical procedure to N-glycopeptide that does not require cysteine residue, allowing for straightforward glycosylation and ligation at aspartic acid terminal. The auxiliary-linked glycosyl donor can be obtained from readily available glycosyl azide. Our method can leverage modern techniques such as intein-mediated ligation or recombinant expression to gain access to peptides of virtually any length and order. In addition, quick access to polymeric peptidoglycans will also be presented.

Induction of Anthracnose Disease Resistance on Chili Fruit by Treatment of Oligochitosan—Nanosilica Hybrid Material

Oligochitosan (OC) with molecular weight Mw of 5000 g/mol was prepared by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of chitosan solution. Nanosilica (nSiO2) with the size of 10 - 30 nm was synthesized by calcination of acid treated rice husk. The mixture of 1% OC - 1% nSiO2 was prepared by dispersion of nSiO2 in OC solution. The morphology of nSiO2 in the mixture of OC-nSiO2 was measured from images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The effect of foliar application of the mixture of OC-nSiO2 on the induction of resistance against anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus on chili fruits was investigated. Results indicated that foliar application of OC-nSiO2 with the concentration of 60 mg/l - 60 mg/l was found to be as the optimal treatment that reduced the disease severity on chili fruits to 22.2% compared with 90.0% of the control. Thus, OC-nSiO2 hybrid material could be considered as an effective biotic elicitor to prevent anthracnose disease infection for chili fruits. Furthermore, the prepared OC-nSiO2 hybrid material can also be used as an environmentally friendly agrochemical product for sustainable development of agriculture.

Assessment of Hydrological Drought Using the Standardized Streamflow Index (SSFI): A Case Study of the Tien Yen River Basin of Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam

Probabilistic assessment of drought plays an important role in providing valuable information for evaluating water resources systems under drought conditions, and bivariate copulas are effective and efficient for the probabilistic assessment of drought based on joint distributions and/or joint return periods of drought characteristics. In this study, hydrological drought events and their characteristics (including duration and severity) in the Tien Yen River Basin of Quang Ninh province are detected using the Standardized Streamflow Index (SSFI). The BB8Copula is selected as the best-fit copula for hydrological drought duration and severity. Joint probabilities and joint return periods of drought duration and severity in the cases “and” and “or” are calculated based on the BB8Copula, which are employed for drought assessment. The results show that the drought events with 1-season or cross-quarter duration were more popular than others;joint probabilities and joint return periods of the detected drought events from 1962 to 2009, ranged from 0.2% to 92.2% and from 0.782 years to 315.414 years, respectively, in the case “and”, and ranged from 3.8% to 99.6% and from 0.724 years to 18.785 years, respectively, in the case “or”.

胡志明思想的理论来源主要是马列主义,孙中山的新三民主义是其重要补充。胡志明对新三民主义的认识有一个逐渐升华和提高的过程。1924年11月前,他认为新三民主义是"一个改革的纲领",之后把新三民主义概括为民族独立、民权自由、民生幸福三个原则,并以此作为越南的民主革命纲领。1927年前,他对新三民主义的研究主要集中于理论层面。1927年至1945年间,他将新三民主义运用到越南民族解放革命运动中,并发展成为具有越南民族特点的三民主义,即民族独立、人民自由、改善人民生活,其核心是民族独立。1945年越南"八月革命"后,他在治国纲领中运用三个原则,争取越南民族统一,扩大民权,发展民生。随着越南历史发生巨大变化,胡志明对外来理论的研究和吸收逐渐从新三民主义转到毛泽东思想上来。
