Prevalence, correlates, attitude and treatment seeking of erectile dysfunction among type 2 diabetic Chinese men attending primary care outpatient clinics

To investigate the prevalence, correlates, attitude and treatment seeking behavior of erectile dysfunction （ED） in type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） patients in the primary care setting, a multi-center cross-sectional survey using a structured anonymous self-administered questionnaire was performed in 10 general outpatient clinics. Of the 603 subjects （91% response rate）, the prevalence of ED men, as defined by the International Index of Erectile Function, was 79.1%. Most subjects had mild ED （28.9%）, followed by mild-to-moderate ED （27.9%）, then moderate ED （13.4%） and severe ED （9%）. Nearly 55% of those with ED did not consider themselves as having ED. Less than 10% of them had ever sought medical treatment, although 76.1% of them wished to receive management from doctor（s） should they be diagnosed with ED. They considered the most important management from doctors to be clinical assessment （41.7%）, followed by management of potential underlying cause （37.8%）, referral to specialist （27.5%）, education （23.9%）, prescription of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors （16.9%） and referral to ~：ounseling service （6.7%）. The prevalence of ED was strongly associated with subjects who thought they had ED （odds ratio （OR） = 90.49 （20.00-409.48, P 〈 0.001）） and were from the older age group （OR = 1.043 （1.011-1.076, P = 0.008））. In conclusion, ED is highly prevalent among T2DM men. The majority of them wanted management from doctors should they have ED, but only a minority would actually voice out the request. Screening of ED among T2DM men using structural questionnaire allowed the diagnosis of more than half of the ED cases, which otherwise would have gone undiagnosed.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the impact of electro-acupuncture at the Neiguan(PC 6) acupoint on protein and RNA expression of acid-sensing ion channel 2(ASIC2) and ASIC3 in myocardial ischemia ***:Fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats were used,weighing(230 ± 50) *** rats were randomized into a normal group A,model group B,Neiguan(PC 6) group C,Lieque(LU 7) group D,and A-shi points group *** were 10 rats in each *** were continuously administered 85 mg/kg intravenous isoproterenol daily to establish the *** modeled rats in groups C,D,and E were given electro-acupuncture *** group of rats was sacrificed with chloral hydrate(1 mL/100 g) intraperitoneal *** left ventricular myocardium was extracted and placed at- 70 ℃ until *** blot analysis and real-time PCR were performed to assay protein and RNA expressions of ASIC2 and ASIC3,*** changes in RNA expression were quantified with the 2~^(-△△Ct) *** samples were drawn from the aorta abdominalis and tested for creatine kinase-MB(CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) levels using enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:Myocardial ischemia rats given electro-acupuncture at the Neiguan(PC 6) acupoint had significantly lower protein and RNA expression of ASIC2 and ASIC3,and CK-MB and LDH levels,compared with model rats(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:Electro-acupuncture at the Neiguan(PC 6) acupoint can not only decrease the protein and RNA expression of ASIC2 and ASIC3,but also inhibit the opening of ASICs and reduce the cardiomyocyte damage in myocardial ischemia rats.

Biodegradable stents made of magnesium(Mg)and its alloys have been developed to minimize persistent inflammation or in-stent restenosis,which are the main problems for permanent ***,their rapid corrosion behavior under physiological conditions leads to poor vascular compatibility and premature structural failure,which remains an important unsolved clinical ***,we demonstrate a new strategy for solving this problem by combining poly(ether imide)(PEI)coating and subsequent tantalum(Ta)ion *** PEI coating covers the whole surface of the Mg stent uniformly via a spray coating technique and provides Mg with superior corrosion resistance and stable sirolimus-carrying *** ion implantation is conducted by a sputtering-based plasma immersion ion implantation technique only onto the luminal surface of the PEI-coated Mg *** extremely short processing time(<30 s)permits preservation of the PEI coating’s corrosion protection ability and sirolimus loading *** addition,a Ta-implanted skin layer that forms on the topmost surface of the PEI coating plays an effective role in not only preventing a rapid release of sirolimus from the surface but also improving the PEI coating’s surface *** on in vitro cellular response and blood compatibility tests,Ta ion implantation leads to the improvement of endothelial cell adhesion/proliferation and suppression of platelet adhesion/activation regardless of sirolimus *** results indicate that the combination of PEI coating and Ta ion implantation has significant innovative potential to provide excellent vascular compatibility and prevent in-stent restenosis and thrombosis.

Poly(ether imide)(PEI)has shown satisfactory corrosion protection capability with good adhesion strength as a coating for magnesium(Mg),a potential candidate of biodegradable orthopedic implant ***,its innate hydrophobic property causes insufficient osteoblast affinity and a lack of ***,we modify the physical and chemical properties of a PEI-coated Mg implant.A plasma immersion ion implantation technique is combined with direct current(DC)magnetron sputtering to introduce biologically compatible tantalum(Ta)onto the surface of the PEI *** PEI-coating layer is not damaged during this process owing to the extremely short processing time(30 s),retaining its high corrosion protection property and adhesion *** Ta-implanted layer(roughly 10-nm-thick)on the topmost PEI surface generates long-term surface hydrophilicity and favorable surface conditions for pre-osteoblasts to adhere,proliferate,and ***,in a rabbit femur study,the Ta/PEI-coated Mg implant demonstrates significantly enhanced bone tissue affinity and osseointegration *** results indicate that Ta/PEI-coated Mg is promising for achieving early mechanical fixation and long-term success in biodegradable orthopedic implant applications.

This research focuses on trajectory generation algorithms that take into account the stealthiness of autonomous UAVs;generating stealthy paths through a region laden with enemy radars. The algorithm is employed to estimate the risk cost of the navigational space and generate an optimized path based on the user-specified threshold altitude value. Thus the generated path is represented with a set of low-radar risk waypoints being the coordinates of its control points. The radar-aware path planner is then approximated using cubic B-splines by considering the least radar risk to the destination. Simulated results are presented, illustrating the potential benefits of such algorithms.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging(mp-MRI)using Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2.0(PI-RADSv2)definitions in detecting organ-confined prostate ***:All patients who underwent radical prostatectomy between January 1,2014 and December 30,2014 were *** underwent mp-MRI within 180 days before *** with prior pelvic irradiation or androgen deprivation therapy were *** embedded,whole-mount histopathology was centrally reviewed and correlated with imaging for tumour location,Gleason score(GS)and ***:There were 39 patients included,of which 35(90%)had mp-MRI done post-biopsy.A total of 93 cancer foci were identified on whole-mount pathology,of which mp-MRI detected 63(68%).Of those detected by mp-MRI,14 were PI-RADS 3(n=6 for GS 6,n=8 for GS 7,no GS≥8)and 49 were PI-RADS 4e5(nZ7 for GS 6,nZ33 for GS 7,and nZ9 for GS≥8).There were 30(32%)cancer foci missed by mp-MRI(n=15 for GS 6,n=13 for GS 7 and n=2 for GS≥8).A lesion classified as PI-RADS 4e5 predicted a higher grade cancer on pathology as compared to PI-RADS 3(for GS 7 lesions,odds ratio[OR]=3.53,95%CI:0.93e13.45,p=0.064).The mp-MRI size detection limit was 20 mm2 and 100 mm2 for 50%and 75%probability of cancer,*** associating with radiological and pathologic stage,the weighted Kappa value was 0.69(phort,mp-MRI using PI-RADSv2 reporting has a reasonably high diagnostic accuracy in detecting clinically significant prostate cancer.

The world’s energy consumption and power generation demand will continue to ***,the bulk of the energy resources needed to satisfy the rising demand is far from the load *** aforementioned requires long-distance transmission systems and one way to accomplish this is to use high voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission *** main technical issues for HVDC transmission systems are loss of synchronism,variation of quadrature currents,amplitude,the inability of station 1(rectifier),and station 2(inverter)to either inject,or absorb active,or reactive power in the network in any circumstances(before a fault occurs,during having a fault in network and after a fault cleared),and the variations of power transfer ***,faults impact power quality such as voltage dips and power line outage *** paper presents a method of overcoming the aforementioned technical issues using voltage-source converter(VSC)based HVDC transmission systems with SCADA VIEWER software and dynamic grid *** benefits include having a higher capacity transmission system and proposed best method for control of active and reactive power transfer *** results obtained using MATLAB validated the experimental results from SCADA Viewer *** results indicate that the station’s rectifier or inverter can either inject or absorb either active power or reactive power in any ***,the reverse power flow under different modes of operation can ride through *** a 100.0%power transfer rate,the rectifier injected 775.0 W into the *** a 0.0%power transfer rate,the rectifier injected 164.0 W into the *** a-100.0%rated power,the rectifier injected 1264.0 W into the network and direction was also changed.

The systematical study on the model of diatone in Putonghua on the basis of real materials through the techniques of polynomial curve fitting and VQ (vector quantization) are presented. The results show: 1. Most of the diatones have several sub-classes, though the scatter of some diatone samples is small. It means that an average model is not sufficient enough to represent all samples in a sub-class. 2. The differences between the diatone model are incarnated on the differences of the highest values of Fo contours, which are correlated with the stress of the first or second syllable. 3. It is a practical and effective method in modeling the diatones in Putonghua through the techniques of polynomial curve fitting and VQ.

介绍了列车自动驾驶系统(ATO)的算法,该算法兼顾了列车运行的高效性、准时性、节能、停车精度、舒适性等功能。其中,节能算法采用按目标速度运行,最大限度利用惰行的控制方式,定时算法采用调整目标速度的启发式算法的方式。同时对列车正常及晚点运行的情况进行了计算机仿真实现,并与列车的实际运行情况进行了比较。该系统可以为进一步研究列车自动驾驶系统提供了有效的实验手段和方法。
