Background Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is becoming a popular complementary approach in pediatric ***,few or no meta-analyses have focused on clinical studies of the use of TCM in pediatric *** We explored the patterns of TCM use and its efficacy in children with cancer,using a systematic review,meta-analysis and data mining *** strategy We conducted a search of five English(Allied and Complementary Medicine Database,Embase,PubMed,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,and ***)and four Chinese databases(Wanfang Data,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,and VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodicals Database)for clinical studies published before October 2021,using keywords related to“pediatric,”“cancer,”and“TCM.”Inclusion criteria We included studies which were randomized controlled trials(RCTs)or observational clinical studies,focused on patients agedho had been diagnosed with cancer,and included at least one group of subjects receiving TCM *** extraction and analysis The methodological quality of RCTs and observational studies was assessed using the six-item Jadad scale and the Effective Public Healthcare Panacea Project Quality Assessment Tool,***-analysis was used to evaluate the efficacy of combining TCM with *** outcomes included the treatment response rate and occurrence of cancer-related *** rule mining(ARM)was used to investigate the associations among medicinal herbs and patient *** The fifty-four studies included in this analysis were comprised of RCTs(63.0%)and observational studies(37.0%).Most RCTs focused on hematological malignancies(41.2%).The study outcomes included chemotherapy-induced toxicities(76.5%),infection rate(35.3%),and response,survival or relapse rate(23.5%).The methodological quality of most of the RCTs(82.4%)and observational studies(80.0%)was r

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is a malignant disease associated with Epstein–Barr virus(EBV)*** study aims to examine the effects of EBV infection on the production of proinflammatory cytokines in NPC cells after the Zn-BC-AM photodynamic therapy(PDT)*** were treated with the photosensitiser Zn-BC-AM for 24 h before light *** ELISA was used to evaluate the production of *** the same experimental condition,HK-1-EBV cells produced a higher basal level of IL-1a(1561 pg/ml),IL-1b(16.6 pg/ml)and IL-8(422.9 pg/ml)than the HK-1 *** the light dose of 0.25–0.5 J/cm2,Zn-BC-AM PDT-treated HK-1-EBV cells were found to produce a higher level of IL-1a and IL-1b than the HK-1 *** production of IL-1b appeared to be mediated via the IL-1b-converting enzyme(ICE)-independent *** contrast,the production of angiogenic IL-8 was downregulated in both HK-1 and HK-1-EBV cells after Zn-BC-AM *** results suggest that Zn-BC-AM PDT might indirectly reduce tumour growth through the modulation of cytokine production.

Novel manganese(Ⅱ)-based deep eutectic solvents: Synthesis and physical properties analysis

Type IV deep eutectic solvent（DES） involves the formation of metal-based eutectics from metal salts or metal salt hydrate in combination with various hydrogen-bond donors（HBDs） such as urea, ethylene glycol or acetamide. In current study, two distinguished approaches were used to synthesize potential DESs, given as the direct heating and the evaporating methods. Successful synthesized DESs were subjected for physical properties characterization by Fourier Transform Infrared（FTIR） Spectroscopy, thermal stability, viscosity,and conductivity analyses. Five novel manganese（II）-based DESs were successfully synthesized as reported in this study. Data obtained indicated that the Mn Cl2á4H2Oáacetamide DES exhibits the lowest freezing point（27.5℃）, highest thermal stability（193℃ point of dehydration）, lowest viscosity（E = 112.8cP） and the highest conductivity（0.12723 mS/cm）. The findings obtained reveal the characteristics, nature or features of synthesized DESs as potential industrial solvents.

Immunomodulation by mesenchymal stem cells:Interplay between mesenchymal stem cells and regulatory lymphocytes

Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) possess immunomodulatory properties, which confer enormous potential for clinical application. Considerable evidence revealed their efficacy on various animal models of autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus and uveitis. MSCs elicit their immunomodulatory effects by inhibiting lymphocyte activation and proliferation, forbidding the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines, limiting the function of antigen presenting cells, and inducing regulatory T(Treg) and B(Breg) cells. The induction of Treg and Breg cells is of particular interest since Treg and Breg cells have significant roles in maintaining immune tolerance. Several mechanisms have been proposed regarding to the MSCs-mediated induction of Treg and Breg cells. Accordingly, MSCs induce regulatory lymphocytes through secretion of multiple pleiotropic cytokines, cell-to-cell contact with target cells and modulation of antigen-presenting cells. Here, we summarized how MSCs induce Treg and Breg cells to provoke immunosuppression.

AIM:To investigate the effects of a new opening pattern in neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet(Nd:YAG)laser posterior capsulotomy on visual ***:This technique was conducted along a circular *** energy ranged between 0.8 and1.2 mJ/pulse was consumed and mean total energy levels were 74±21 mJ(mean±standard deviation:SD,from 40 to167)and laser shots aimed at 150μm away behind a datum point and went along an imaginary line which extends 0.5 mm inside from optic margin and into the circular en bloc *** stands were attached with fragment and then they were cut off by the laser after circular *** circular fragment was completely separated from vitreous,and then this fragment was quickly sunk in intravitreal ***:The follow-up period ranges from at least a week to 40mo,making 15.8mo on *** procedural outcome showed 96%(74 eyes out of the 77eyes)enhancement in patients’visual *** macular edema or retinal detachment was not observed in any of the patients during follow-up ***:This new technique is expected to improve the weaknesses that the conventional procedures have by adding the process to cut off vitreous stands attached with the fragment by the laser to the circular application.

Previously we have designed and implemented new image browsing facilities to support effective offiine image contents on mobile devices with limited capabilities： low bandwidth, small display, and slow processing. In this letter, we fulfill the automatic production of cartoon contents fitting small-screen display, and introduce a clustering method useful for various types of cartoon images as a prerequisite stage for preserving semantic meaning. The usage of neural networks is to properly cut the various forms of pages. Texture information that is useful for grayscale image segmentation gives us a good clue for page layout analysis using the multilayer perceptron （MLP） based x-y recursive algorithm. We also automatically frame the segment MLP using agglomerative segmentation. Our experimental results show that the combined approaches yield good results of segmentation for several cartoons.

Biochemical outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy in patients with follow-up more than 5-years

In this study, we assessed biochemical outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy （RARP）. Between July 2005 and November 2007, one hundred and seventy-six consecutive patients treated by RARP without neoadjuvant treatment were included in this study. All procedures were performed by a single surgeon and the median follow-up period was 60 months （interquartile range （IQR）： 59-69）. The median prostate specific antigen was 7.50 ng ml-1 （IQR： 5.14-11.45） and 39.2% of the patients were classified as intermediate risk and 15.3% were classified as high risk; on final pathological examination, 35.2% of the patients had non-organ confined disease and 37.5% and 14.2% had Gleason scores of 7 and 8-10, respectively. The biochemical recurrence （BCR）-free survival rates at 3 and 5 years were 85.6% and 81.2%, respectively. The 5-year BCR-free survival rates stratified by pathologic Gleason scores were 93.1% in Gleason scores of 6 or less, 74.5% in a Gleason score of 7, and 58.1% in Gleason scores of 8 or greater, respectively （P〈0.001）. When stratified by pathologic stage, the BCR-free survival rates were 89.8% in pT2 patients, 66.2% in pT3a patients, and 39.3% in pT3b patients at 5 years following RARP, respectively （P〈0.001）. Preoperative prostate-specific antigen （PSA）, pathologic stage, postoperative Gleason score and surgical margin status were independently associated with BCR in multivariate analysis. In this study, we report biochemical outcomes after RARP with the longest follow-up periods to date in Asian men. We found that robotic surgery provided satisfactory biochemical outcomes, and that RARP is a safe and effective procedure in terms of oncologic outcomes.
