Obesity is a major risk factor for cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)that develops from a background of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Hypercholesterolemia is a common comorbidity of *** cholesterol biosynthesis mainly occurs in the liver,its role in HCC development of obese people remains *** high-fat high-carbohydrate diet-associated orthotopic and spontaneous NAFLD-HCC mouse models,we found that hepatic cholesterol accumulation in obesity selectively suppressed natural killer T(NKT)cell-mediated antitumor *** analysis of human liver revealed aberrant cholesterol metabolism and NKT cell dysfunction in NAFLD ***,cholesterol-lowering rosuvastatin restored NKT expansion and cytotoxicity to prevent obesogenic diet-promoted HCC ***,suppression of hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis by a mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)inhibitor vistusertib preceded tumor regression,which was abolished by NKT inactivation but not CD8^(+)T cell ***,sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2(SREBP2)-driven excessive cholesterol production from hepatocytes induced lipid peroxide accumulation and deficient cytotoxicity in NKT cells,which were supported by findings in people with obesity,NAFLD and *** study highlights mTORC1/SREBP2/cholesterol-mediated NKT dysfunction in the tumor-promoting NAFLD liver microenvironment,providing intervention strategies that invigorating NKT cells to control HCC in the obesity epidemic.

Risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events after surgical castration versus gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists in Chinese men with prostate cancer

We investigated the cardiovascular thrombotic risk after surgical castration （SC） versus genadotmpin-releasing hormone agonists （GnRHa） in Chinese men with prostate cancer. All Chinese prostate cancer patients who were treated with SC or GnRHa from year 2000 to 2009 were reviewed and compared. The primary outcome was any new-onset of cardiovascular thrombotic events after SC or GnRHa, which was defined as any event of acute myocardial infarction or ischemic stroke. The risk of new-onset cardiovascular thrombotic event was compared between the SC group and the GnRHa group using Kaplan-Meier method. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was performed to adjust for other potential confounding factors. A total of 684 Chinese patients was included in our study, including 387 patients in the SC group and 297 patients in the GnRHa group. The mean age in the SC group （75.3 ~ 7.5 years） was significantly higher than the GnRHa group （71.8 ~ 8.3 years）（P 〈 0.001）. There was increased risk of new cardiovascular thrombotic events in the SC group when compared to the GnRHa group upon Kaplan-Meier analysis （P= 0.014）. Upon multivariate Cox regression analysis, age （hazard ratio [HR] 1.072, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.04-1.11, P 〈 0.001）, hyperlipidemia （HR 2.455, 95% Cl 1.53-3.93, P 〈 0.001）, and SC （HR 1.648, 95% CI 1.05-2.59, P = 0.031） were significant risk factors of cardiovascular thrombotic events. In conclusion, SC was associated with increased risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events when compared to GnRHa. This is an important aspect to consider while deciding on the method of androgen deprivation therapy, especially in elderly men with known history of hyperlipidemia.

目的:数据采集的隐私保护问题近年来受到广泛关注。传统的数据采集过程中,采集机构假设在匿名发布数据的前提下,所有应答者对于提交各自数据的过程均是满意的。本文作者认为这一假设并不实际,因日益增长的隐私保护需求导致部分应答者拒绝或提交不准确的数据,从而将导致由这些数据得到的分析结果不可靠。因此,本文引入ki-匿名模型,由应答者选择自己偏好的匿名水平。创新点:本文所提算法其背后主要思想是允许每个应答者学习自身记录的事件数目,即仅需获取自身约束条件的满意度得分。方法:首先,生成唯一身份标识和约束条件。接着,检查约束条件的满意度情况。然后,计算满意度得分。最后,更新约束条件的满意度表格(图1)。结论:引入ki-匿名模型的概念,允许应答者在提交数据前能够选择自己偏好的匿名保护水平。所提算法确保应答者在数据采集过程中实现其偏好的匿名保护水平,且所采集的数据真实并有效用于数据分析。

Extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) of FAPbI_(3) for understanding local structure-stability relation in perovskite solar cells

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) employing formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI_(3)) have shown high ***,operational stability has been issued due to phase instability of α phase FAPbI_(3) at ambient *** precursors in the perovskite precursor solution has been proposed to improve not only power conversion efficiency (PCE) but also device ***,there is a controversial issue on the beneficial effect on PCE and/or stability between excess fai and excess PbI_(2).We report here extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) of FAPbI_(3) to study local structural change and explain the effect of excess precursors on photovoltaic performance and *** films prepared from the precursor solution with excess PbI_(2)shows better stability than those from the one with excess fai,despite similar PCE.A rapid phase transition from α phase to non-perovskite δ phase is observed from the perovskite film formed by excess ***,the (Pb-I) bond distance evaluated by the Pb L_(III)-edge EXAFS study is increased by excess fai,which is responsible for the phase transition and poor device *** work can provide important insight into local structure-stability relation in the FAPbI_(3)-based PSCs.

Performance of the hybrid growth sequencing batch reactor(HG-SBR) for biodegradation of phenol under various toxicity conditions

Hybrid growth microorganisms in sequencing batch reactors have proven effective for treating the toxic compound phenol, but the toxicity effect under different toxicity conditions has rarely been discussed. Therefore, the performance of the HG-SBR under toxic, acute and chronic organic loading can provide the overall operating conditions of the system. Toxic organic loading(TOL) was monitored during the first 7 hr while introducing50 mg/L phenol to the system. The system was adversely affected with the sudden introduction of phenol to the virgin activated sludge, which caused a low degradation rate and high dissolved oxygen consumption during TOL. Acute organic loading(AOL) had significant effects at high phenol concentrations(600, 800 1000 mg/L). The specific oxygen uptake rate(SOUR) gradually decreased to 4.9 mg O_2/(g MLVSS·hr) at 1000 mg/L of phenol compared to 12.74 mg O_2/(g MLVSS·hr) for 200 mg/L of phenol. The HG-SBR was further monitored during chronic organic loading(COL) over 67 days. The effects of organic loading were more apparent at 800 mg/L and 1000 mg/L phenol concentrations, as the removal range was between 22%–30% and 18%–46% respectively, which indicated the severe effects of COL.

＜正＞In this paper, we present a framework for modeling temporal reference in Chinese discourse. It generates the temporal relations （i.e. "before", "after" and "same-as"） among the sentences by applying inference rules on a set of pre-specified linguistic features, including discourse features, such as theme, rhetorical relation as well as temporal features, such as tense/aspect markers and connectives. They are designed to determine time orientation or estimate the extent of time shift. A variety of experiments are conducted to compare the different impacts of these features on temporal reference determination and show that theme is the most significant one. The overall performance is promising and achieves 91.33% of accuracy on news articles. Meanwhile, we obtain the insight that the default forward movement of temporal reference, which is employed in previous researches, is not applicable to all genres of texts. In addition, we develop a graphic representation, namely Temporal Discourse Map, which helps locating temporal references in a discourse.

Lanthanide-doped upconversion nanocrystals(UCNCs)have recently become an attractive nonlinear fluorescence material for use in bioimaging because of their tunable spectral characteristics and exceptional *** materials are often introduced into the vicinity of UCNCs to increase their emission intensity by means of enlarging the absorption cross-section and accelerating the radiative decay ***,plasmonic nanostructures(e.g.,gold nanorods,GNRs)can also influence the polarization state of the UC fluorescence—an effect that is of fundamental importance for fluorescence polarization-based imaging methods yet has not been discussed *** study this effect,we synthesized GNR@SiO_(2)@CaF2:Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)hybrid core–shell–satellite nanostructures with precise control over the thickness of the SiO_(2) *** evaluated the shell thicknessdependent plasmonic enhancement of the emission intensity in ensemble and studied the plasmonic modulation of the emission polarization at the single-particle *** hybrid plasmonic UC nanostructures with an optimal shell thickness exhibit an improved bioimaging performance compared with bare UCNCs,and we observed a polarized nature of the light at both UC emission bands,which stems from the relationship between the excitation polarization and GNR *** used electrodynamic simulations combined with Förster resonance energy transfer theory to fully explain the observed *** results provide extensive insights into how the coherent interaction between the emission dipoles of UCNCs and the plasmonic dipoles of the GNR determines the emission polarization state in various situations and thus open the way to the accurate control of the UC emission anisotropy for a wide range of bioimaging and biosensing applications.
