In its effort towards becoming a developed nation in the next decade, Malaysia has incorporated its education system with National Higher Education Action Plan initiatives to produce a next generation of populace who are no more dependent on the government for various aids. For the past decade, creation of entrepreneurs through a formal education has become the mainstay of the local Higher Education Institutions （HEI）. Pursuing of an entrepreneurship education by means of a degree programme has emerged as one of the popular choice among undergraduates as an option for rewarding and full time career. Because of this. there has been an increased demand for entrepreneurship education and training in Malaysia to nurture entrepreneurial characteristics. The national agenda is to encourage the younger generations to be nurtured into becoming job-creators rather than job-seekers once they leave the educational system. Given this trend, HEIs need to undertake some policy changes, including faculty or school overall legislation and the development of alternative specialized programs, to be more accommodating to future entrepreneurs. This paper provides an insight into entrepreneurship education, as one of the programs that can generate interest among undergraduates to enhance entrepreneurial characteristics in order to create good entrepreneurs.

Objective: To apply office hysteroscopy in assessment/management of patients with recurrent miscarriage, thus to/or not to recommend office hysteroscopy as a routine procedure in such cases. Study design: Retrospective analysis. Setting: University hospital’s outpatient abortion clinic. Subjects & Methodology: Patients’ records during the period between March 2015 and January 2017 for subjects with at least 2 previous miscarriages, who had undergone office hysteroscopy were reviewed. Results: Cases with 2 previous miscarriages (n = 95) were assessed and compared with those with 3 or more miscarriages (n = 105). Abnormal uterine findings were diagnosed in 24.1% of the former, and 43.8% of the latter group. The prevalence of uterine lesions among cases with 2 recurrent miscarriages was 42.1%;meanwhile, for subjects with 3 or more consecutive miscarriages, it was 43.8%. Conclusion: In addition to safety profile, simplicity and outpatient basis of use, outpatient hysteroscopy in recurrent miscarriages would be an added-value to practitioners as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool.

Preparation of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles using fulvic acid as a capping agent and its effect on catalytic activity

Cobalt ferrite was prepared by co-precipitation from cobalt and iron soluble precursors in presence of fulvic acid at different pHvalues, namely, 6 and 8 and compared with the same preparation in absence of fulvic acid. The presence of fulvic acid is expected tobind metal ions through bridging before co-precipitation and mineralization. The extent of binding is determined according to thepH of the process. This influences the mineralization of the resulting cobalt ferrite and the crystallization/ordering of its lattice. Inaddition, the extent of residual ferric oxide is also a function of the efficiency of binding process. This route of modification for the coprecipitationprocess was found to be accompanied by enhanced surface area and total pore volume for most of the prepared *** involvement of these oxides as catalysts in the photo-catalytic degradation of phenol from wastewater was found to contributevery efficiently and the removal reached about 88% in some cases, which can be attributed to olation and oxolation process of theformed nanoparticles.

Management of 634 Consecutive Patients with Chronic Pilonidal Sinus: A Nine-Year Experience of a Single Institute

Objectives: Different surgical techniques, with variable morbidity and recurrence rates, have been advocated for the management of chronic pilonidal sinus (PNS). This study was conducted to report the outcome of surgical treatment of 634 cases of chronic PNS at a single institute between January 2001 and January 2010. Methods: Karydakis flap was performed in 244 patients (38.5%, Group 1). Excision and midline closure was performed in 371 patients (58.5%, Group 2), while the open method was used in 19 (3.0%). Data regarding patient and sinus characteristics, operative de-tails, postoperative course, complications and recurrence were recorded. Mean follow-up was 73.5 months. Results: 571 patients were male (90.1%) and 63 were female (9.9%). Their ages ranged between 16 - 44 years (mean 25.7 years). The mean body mass index was 31.2 (range 23.6 - 41.9), and 71.5% (453/634) were hirsute. Chronic PNS was the first presentation (primary) in 504 patients (79.5%) and recurrent in 130 (20.5%).Overall complication rate was 16.1% (102/ 634) and overall recurrence rate was 8.4% (53/634). Comparing both groups showed that they were similar regarding demographic characteristics, clinical presentation, hospital stay, healing time and time off work. Operative time was insignificantly longer with Karydakis technique (mean 43.2 versus 39.1 minutes, respectively). Complications were sig-nificantly more in patients with midline closure (21%, 78/371) as compared with Karydakis procedure (9%, 22/244) (P = 0.0001). Likewise, there was a significantly (P = 0.0001) higher rate of recurrence with midline closure (12.1%, 45/371) as opposed to Karydakis technique (2.5%, 6/244). Conclusions: 1) PNS affects mainly young male adults who are usually, obese and hirsute, 2) Karydakis technique for the management of chronic PNS, whether primary or recurrent, is a non-lengthy, efficient procedure that has less overall complications and a lower recurrence rate than conventional excision and midline clo

Background: Traumatic subdural hematoma is one of the severe injuries to brain with high mortality rates. Dural opening is often associated with brain herniation against the dural edges due to associated edema that would lead to venous infarction. Aim: The objective of this study is to describe a technical note that would allow fast and effective closure of the dura after hematoma evacuation via duraplasty with analysis of the safety and competency of the technique. Subjects and Methods: The fast-track technique was implemented in 15 successive cases with acute subdural hematoma where the fascia lata flap was prepared and sutured to the planned dural incision before opening the dura, which allowed fast and effective closure of the dura before brain herniation. Subdural bridges were planned by using Gelfoam to prevent venous compression. Analysis of the technique effectiveness was performed by the operative detection of brain herniation, as well as clinical and radiological follow-up of patients. Results: All patients had a Glasgow coma score (GCS) below six before the operation. Mean time from trauma to surgery was five hours. The dura could be effectively closed with no brain herniation in all cases. Nine patients survived (60%), where five of them ended up in a vegetative state. Of these two recovered and three continued in a persistent vegetative state. The mortality rate was 40%. Post-operative infarction was detected in post-operative imaging of four patients. Conclusion: The fast-track duraplasty technique is fast and effective in prevention of brain herniation during surgery with favorable clinical outcome in comparison with the poor and severely deteriorated preoperative clinical presentation. More studies to evaluate the impact of the technique on the survival rate are warranted.

Hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, mainly PET, consist of several diseases which are associated with increased morbidity and mortality rates both maternal and fetal wise. Its incidence among pregnant females is about 3% - 10%. This study included 500 pregnant PET women, and they categorized to mild and severe forms, after exclusion of cases with essential hypertension, renal disease and SLE. All pregnant ladies underwent history taking, abdominal examination (general and local), obstetric ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound, laboratory investigations;treatment received (antihypertensive medications, magnesium sulphate (MgSO4) and steroids) and finally follow up till delivery. Regarding complications, PET can result in serious fetal/neonatal or maternal complications. Background: Oral aphthosis has a negative impact on oral health. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of gel formulation including diclofenac and propolis in the treatment of oral ulcers. Methods: Participants included 100 normal individuals with aphthous, excluding those having allergies to any ingredient in the diclofenac formulation. Patients were randomly assigned into two groups: one group received treatment with a combination of diclofenac potassium 3% (10 mg/g, 60 g) and propolis 5% gel (Group II), and the other group received a placebo (Group 1). The patient was evaluated using standard digital photographs and chronic oral mucosal questionnaires on days 1, 3, 5, and 7 after healing. Utilizing the Mann-Whitney U test, the two groups were compared. Each group’s changes were examined using Friedman’s test. Results: There was a statistically dramatic change over time in Group II. After one day, the median total score dropped statistically significantly, and from one to three days with effect size (d) 2.485, Group II demonstrated 48% complete healing and 52% partial healing, while Group I demonstrated 4% partial healing and 96% no change. Effect size (V): 0.995. Conclusions: The combination of diclofenac and propolis provided instant relief and an affordable new regimen for treating oral aphthosis.

Quorum sensing is a signal-based communication system in bacteria. It is an attractive target because it regulates the production of virulence factors in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. As a result, interference with quorum sensing could result in inhibition of virulence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa with the merit of lack of selective pressure on growth that leads to development of resistance. This study investigated the anti-quorum sensing and anti-virulence activities of febuxostat in Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 strain. At 1/8 MIC of febuxostat, the production of the quorum-sensing regulated violacein pigment of Chromobacterium violaceum CV026 was significantly reduced. Moreover, it markedly reduced pyocyanin, hemolysin, protease and elastase production. Significant inhibitory activities were also found against biofilm, swimming, twitching and swarming motilities. Molecular docking showed the ability of febuxostat to inhibit quorum sensing by competing with the autoinducers to bind with LasR and RhlR receptors. Febuxostat could bind to both receptors by hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction. From the Molecular docking scores, febuxostat is a very promising quorum sensing inhibitor. Febuxostat could also significantly decrease the level of expression of all QS genes LasI, LasR, RhlI, RhlR, PqsA and PqsR that regulate the production of virulene factors as confirmed by qRT-PCR.

Nowadays, urban design faces complex demands. It has become a necessity to negotiate between stakeholder objectives, the expectations of citizens and the demands of planning. It is desirable to involve the stakeholders and citizens from an early stage in the planning process to enable their different viewpoints to be successfully expressed and comprehended. Therefore, the basic aim of the study was how the MR （mixed reality） application is designed to encourage and improve communication on urban design among stakeholders and citizens？ In this paper, we discuss new approaches to visualize urban building and environment alternatives to different stakeholders and provide them with tools to explore different approaches to urban planning in order to support citizen＇s participation in urban planning with augmented and mixed reality. The major finding of the study is that learning ＂how these participatory technologies may help build a community of practice around an urban project＂. And throughout the different experiences, we can learn to assist towards development of a methodology to use the mixed reality as a simulation tool in the enhancement of collaborative interaction in real-Egyptian project. So, we can determine a number of recommendations to deal with new participatory design tools for urban planning projects.
