A squarylium dye is dissolved in 4-cyano-4＇-pentylbiphenyl （SCB） and oriented by sandwiching mixtures between two pieces of rubbed glass plates. The optical absorption spectra of the oriented squarylium dye-5CB layers exhibit high anisotropy. The third-order nonlinear optical responses and susceptibilities X^（3）e of squarylium dye in 5CB are measured with light polarizations parallel and perpendicular to the orientational direction by the resonant femtosecond degenerate four-wave mixing （DFWM） technique. Temporal profiles of the DFWM signal of the oriented squarylium dye-5CB layers with light polarizations parallel and perpendicular to the orientational direction are measured with a time resolution of 0.3ps （FWHM）, and are found to consist of two components, i.e., the coherent instantaneous nonlinear response and slow response due to the formation of excited molecules. A high anisotropic ratio of x^（3）e, 10.8 ：k 1.2, is observed for the oriented layers.

The Ni samples were electroformed from additive-free(AF) and saccharin-containing(SC) sulfamate solutions, respectively. In situ backscattered electron(BSE) imaging, electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD), and electron-probe microanalysis(EPMA) were used to investigate the effect of annealing on the deformation behaviors of the AF and SC samples. The results indicate that columnar grains of the as-deposited AF sample had an approximated average width of 3 μm and an approximated aspect ratio of 8. The average width of columnar grains of the as-deposited SC sample was reduced to approximately 400 nm by the addition of saccharin to the electrolyte. A few very-large grains distributed in the matrix of the SC sample after annealing. No direct evidence indicated that S segregated at the grain boundaries before or after annealing. The average value of the total elongations of the SC samples decreased from 16% to 6% after annealing, whereas that of the AF samples increased from 18% to 50%. The dislocation recovery in grain-boundary areas of the annealed AF sample was reduced, which contributed to the appearance of microvoids at the triple junctions. The incompatibility deformation between very-large grains and fine grains contributed to the brittle fracture behavior of the annealed SC Ni.

In this paper, we study symmetry reduction for a binary asteroid system modeled by a rigid body and a particle. In particular, we demonstrate how translational and rotational symmetry reduction appeared in the binary asteroid system can be carried out in the context of Dirac reduction by stages and with the associated reduction of implicit Hamiltonian systems. Then we investigate Stability of relative equilibria of the asteroid pair and show stability regions by using the energy-momentum method. Lastly, we illustrate some numerical simulations for stable and unstable orbits near from relative equilibria of the Collinear and T configurations.C 2013 The Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. Increased gut permeability facilitates the uptake of food allergens into the bloodstream and triggers allergenic *** present study aimed to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus pentosus S-PT84(S-PT84)and Rubus suavissimus leaf extract(RSLE)against egg ovomucoid(OVM)-uptake in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced increased gut-permeability mice model of food ***-eight weeks old,female C57BL6 mice were continuously fed with LPS(300μg/kg BW),for 3 months to increase gut *** in the expression of sealing claudin-4,increase in the expression of pore-forming claudin-2,and increase in D-mannitol absorption into the blood plasma in the LPS treated groups suggested the increase in gut permeability after LPS *** oral administration of major egg allergen,OVM,after LPS intervention,significantly increased the plasma mast cell protease-1 and OVMspecific IgE compared to the negative control *** results indicated that continuous LPS intervention developed OVM-induced food ***,both the treatment of S-PT84 and RSLE suppressed the claudin-2 expression and the gut permeability induced by ***,S-PT84 and RSLE treatment also reduced the plasma mast cell protease-1 and OVM-specific IgE,indicating the potential beneficial effect against LPS intervention developed OVM-induced food *** findings suggest that S-PT84 and RSLE ameliorated LPS induced gut permeability and food allergic reactions.

To improve visualization,it is necessary to optimize the design by analyzing the behavior of users as well as improving the evaluation index of the computational experiment and the task performance(e.g.,the correct answer rate and completion time)in the user *** various studies have investigated the influence of user behavior on the evaluation of visualization,majority of these studies focused on simple visualization tasks.A simple task does not indicate a simple visualization comprising a few visualization elements but a task in which the information obtained from visualization is the only clue for completing the ***,a few studies have targeted complicated tasks in which multiple information obtained from visualization is considered to be a clue for completing the task regardless of the number of elements that are contained in the ***,in this study,we investigated the behavior of the participants who have performed complicated *** selected two types of group-in-a-box(GIB)layouts,which can be considered to be a complicated visualization method,as the target of the user *** the user experiment,participants were asked to perform an exploration task specific to GIB layouts;which group has the maximum number of intra-edges?We also collected the eye-tracking data in addition to task *** results showed that the correct answer rate is considerably affected by the visualization factor;whether the correct answer,the box with maximum number of intra-edges,is the box with the largest ***,an analysis of the collected eye-tracking data revealed that this visualization factor affected the exploration behavior of the participants;however,it did not affect the location at which the participants were focused *** obtained results indicated that the visualization elements that were not considered by the visualization designer can influence the task of extracting information from the ***

In this paper,we explore the relationship between dual decomposition and the consensusbased method for distributed *** relationship is developed by examining the similarities between the two approaches and their relationship to gradient-based constrained *** formulating each algorithm in continuous-time,it is seen that both approaches use a gradient method for optimisation with one using a proportional control term and the other using an integral control term to drive the system to the constraint ***,a significant contribution of this paper is to combine these methods to develop a continuous-time proportional-integral distributed optimisation ***,we establish convergence using Lyapunov stability techniques and utilising properties from the network structure of the multi-agent system.

In most species,calcium waves in the oocyte are considered common phenomena in the activation of ***,the mechanism of calcium waves has not yet been *** collaborating with biologists studying Caenorhabditis elegans(***),which is widely used as a model organism,we observed that the following requirements must be satisfied to form a useful hypothesis based on calcium waves captured using high-speed in vivo imaging:(1)the ability to obtain an overview of how the calcium waves are propagated and(2)the ability to understand the propagation of waves in a narrow ***,conventional visualization methods cannot satisfy these requirements ***,we propose a visual analytics system that allows users to understand and explore calcium wave images using cross-correlation analysis of the time-series data of the Ca^(2+)fluorescence intensity at each *** interface of this system comprises an overview visualization,a detail visualization,and user interactions to satisfy these requirements and realize exploratory *** views present an overview visualization that displays the clustering results of a directed graph calculated using cross-correlation *** views enable the users to understand the overview of wave propagation,thereby helping users find a region of *** detail visualization shows the relationship between the region of interest and other ***,users can use the proposed system with overview-detail and brush-link exploration to assign meaning to the region of interest and construct a hypothesis for its *** this paper,we demonstrate how the proposed visual analytics approach works and how new hypotheses can be formed using the analysis of *** calcium waves.
